I have used the worms.. and shrimp.. and some Wheaties mix..the shrimp I had to get froze. cause I was to chicken to do them live like my mom did.... and I don't really like to bait with worms.. but I do love to fish....my mom said.. just wear gloves.. but why.. when my hubby will do it for me and I don't have to get my hands all wormy.... yes.. I am still a girly girl.. but I love to fish..

Well.....It was a pretty good day. That is, it WAS up to about 2:35. My boss and another guy called me into a work area of a co-worker of mine. I knew what was going to happen. He was getting wrote up (again) for missing so many days of work. The letter was givin, a few choice words were exchanged and the 2 company guys left. I told my co-worker to just settle down and we will talk to the union Monday morning. A bit later my boss came out of the main office and informed the guy that he was susspended untill further notice and HR would be calling him next week. He punched out, went and got his lunch box and slamed the door on the tool crib, causing a machine guard fall on the floor making more niose which must of startled him cause his lunch box came out of his hand and landed 10 feet in front of him. He snached it up and left the property. I don't belive I'll ever see him again. My boss and the plant manager have had it out for him for some time now. They got him. It's really not a big deal for me other then I was called in as a wittness for the whole thing. I hate being drug in on things. The worst part is that he was going to retire in 3 years.

Oh well. I just had to vent.

On the bright side, I went to the doctor's office today for my annual blood pressure check up. My BP was BOILING at 3:00 PM! I weighed in at the doctors office at 300 pounds. I came home, shed my clothes and weighed in at 288. My work clothes weigh 12 pounds. Steel toe boots included! Anyway, my blood pressure was good and I will continue with the meds. I'm pleased with my weight today. This morning I was 289. At 4:30 today I was 288.

LOL. He is a Vietnam Vet and VERY jumpy. You would think that our vets would have some sort of work rights since they have been through so much. Some of the stories he tells will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

What a day, huh, Phil! That was funny about the guy's tool box.

My DH said he saw on the TV the other night this blooper that was really funny. A girl was singing the National Anthem at a ice skating rink. In the middle of the song, she forgot the words! Several people booed her off the rink. She went storming off. Then, I guess she got herself together and decided to come back. On the way back onto the ice she trips and slips on the ice. She stormed out again. As if forgetting the words wasn't bad enough she had to fall in front of everyone! DH said he felt sorry that he had laughed. People will react true to themselves when tempers fly.

Hey, great job on the weight....now change your siggy! You are lighter than 294 now!! Eileen is right about the clothes. I wear very light clothes and take off my shoes when I weigh at the doctor's office. Wow, 12 pounds is a lot to carry around all day! No wonder everyone is stressed!

Thanks Eileen! The good thing is that I am bench marked there at 300 pounds. Yes next time I'll leave the steel toes at home. I did tell him that I was wearing those boots, cause I made a quick appointment and didn't have time to go home and get cleaned up.

Hi Beth! I wasa just thinking that when I was digging in the fridge for a diet mt. dew and last night leftover rib-eye. I thought why is it I think about changing my siggy stats ONLY when they go down? I know why. It's because we all like going down! 286 this morning. Going to go change my siggy. LOL! My boots are the least of my concerns. I looked at a pair of tennis shoes (we call them tennis shoes up here. Calling them "seakers" will get your butt kicked by a steel toe boot.) They had a composit toe in them and were ultra light but the tounge was not gusseted(sp/) to the side of the shoe and belive me, it hurts when a chip slide between your boot and your sock. I oppted for the boots. Beside, I need the extra support for my ankles because of a real bad sprain many years ago.

It happens all the time to me. I'm always in the right place at the wrong time. It's his problem not mine. The guy was totally worthless anyways, alway yelling and cussing people, loud, alway missing work and thought the whole earth revolved around him. Oh well! Sucks being him.

Well ladies, I weighed in at 286 this morning, so yes, I am going to change my stats. My wife is totally kicking butt losing weight. She is down somewhere in the 2-teens. She looks great and I find it hard to keep my hands off of her. I'm always gabbing her butt or something.:blush: One of these days she's going to bite my hand off. I always tell her that she's lucky that after 15 years of marriage her husband STILL can't get enough of her. Those are true words by the way. She my wife of over 15 years and I think she is damn sexy! There I go getting all worked up again!

Good morning!

Shopping went well yesterday. It was Iowa's tax free clothes day yesterday so we didn't have to pay Iowa's sales tax. The mall was packed and I managed to eat clean yesterday. We bought alot of clothes for the boys an they each got some new shoes. I hope we are done for now.

We are going to Menards today so I can get some lumber for a couple projects I have going on. The main thing being new guttering.

I woke up to 285.8 this morning. I pay no attention to tenthes. If I see 285.8, I round down because it helps me stay motivated. I hope tomorrow is a better number yet.

I am making my sausage egg and cheese muffins this morning for today and the rest of the week. We skipped out on church today because Hillary and I both slept thru the alarms. It felt good to sleep in!

I like those muffins. There a quick and easy breakfast food or anytime food for that matter. If you like spicy sausage buy the jimmy dean bold. YUMMO! I wait for the Jimmy Dean sausage to go on sale then buy at least 6 rolls, sometimes more.

Thank you and I'm happy I can help motivate you. The way I see it is the less that you weigh in October, (begining of archery deer season) the less weight you will be taking with you in the field. The stronger you are, the easier it will be to draw your bow on a cold day. It all pays off in the end my dear friend.

Speaking of Krissy...I have a dozen Gold Tip XT hunter arrows all cut up and just waiting for a new batch of Blazer vanes to be put on. I think I'll true up both ends today and install nocks and inserts (if time allows) and start fletching tomorrow. I do belive I'll go down stairs and wax up my bow string. Dang you Krissy! Now I'm getting excited! I'll never get my guttering done.

i have been thinking about bumping my draw weight up just a bit more, but i can't remember if my bow was 35-55# or 35-45#. i want to be back to 180 by my birthday and i can do that, i just need to KICK MY OWN A$S to get back down there. after my birthday (8/28) it'll only be one quick month until bow season!!

i gave boyfriend the option for my birthday present: either a ring, or a scent-lok suit. i'm totally excited that cabelas now has more options for women's clothes, its so hard to wear men's gear because i'm so short, i swear the crotch of my insulated overalls is to my knees!! not to mention all the extra room in the jackets, they're not snug to my body at all and i look like a camo bubble.

I'd take it to the pro shop and let them measure the draw weight and them jack it up. That way if you start getting crazy arrow flight you can always go back to the orginal draw weight. Then again jacking up your draw weight just might tighten up your groups. Reguard less, broadheads arrow flight is the most important. If you can drill holes with your broadheads then you will have no problem double lunging a deer.

i just feel like i need more oomph to my broadhead penetration. (god i hate that word) i bought the hoyt selena last spring and i've only shot one deer with it last season, a button buck (oops), but i'm wondering if i'll have enough draw force to kill a bigger buck. obviously if you fire a vital organ, it'll die, but ya know? i just wonder what it will be like shooting a 6-8 point with my wee little bow and my short-girl arrows. when i shot the BB the arrow went all the way through and broke off, the rest of the arrow was diagonally inside the body cavity. i shot him from the front left shoulder to the back right leg. although considering having a broadhead in you while you're running away, there's plenty of internal rips and tears that you'd eventually die.



lately when i've shot, i just feel like my arrows take their sweet time getting down to the target, like it's slow motion and a cartoon character shot it

I forgot to answer your first question. I hunt from both treestand and ground blind and some times just back in the brush. I prefer to be off the ground though.

Americian Indians shot all there game with a long bow, right? I'm sure that your Hoyt shoots faster then a long bow. Now figure in that they shot broadheads napped out of rock, branches for arrows and turkey feathers for fletching and all were tied together with a vine. They shot whitetail, turkey, bear, elk, and buffalo. You are shooting a modern compound bow with a quality arrowrest, release, sights and arrows that have a tollerance of 0.003 of an inch per foot (a sheet of notebook paper is 0.003 of an inch. Worse case, you have an arrow that is say 24 inches long with a max strightness runout of 2 sheets of notebook paper. You have taken 90% of the variable out of the picture. Throw in an ultra sharp broadhead, and I mean ultra sharp and good shot placement and you'll pepper right through them every time.

Also remember a razor sharp broadhed will pass clean through a kevlar bullet proof vest where you would have to shoot a large caliber before you get any sort of penatration. Why? The broadhead slices and cuts, the bullet only pushes and rips.

Hoyt's website claims the Selena is adjustable up to 60# with an IBO speed of 287FPS. I'd guess that you are shooting 250fps. It wasn't to long ago that 200fps was blazing fast.

I think you have plenty of energy for a big whitetail. Ask your local pro shop and let me kow what they say.

Thanks for stopping by! For the last few years Iowa has had a couple sales tax free shopping days for buying school clothes and shoes. Stuff like football cleats are not tax free but all other clothing items are. This year the tax free days were last Friday and Saturday an Coral ridge mall in Coralville was swamped. There won't be another one untill next year. It's not much but hey, 7% is 7%. It adds up.

oh i know! i had one other arrow hit just left of the other 3 but still within the circle, i pulled it out to investigate it and the fletching was a little bit warped. i should buy a half dozen new arrows for this year anyways... i was wondering what she used and what her weight was set at. i've got my pins sighted for 15, 20, and 30 yards, but i need some more practice with the 30. later this week i'll run out to the shop and have my draw length and weight double checked just to make sure i'm as pimp as i can be. up next: practicing getting into the tree-stands. tim has a self climber that i've used a few times, but i never went higher than 5 feet off the ground.
