I have an appointment Monday to go to the doctor. I haven't had my blood work since I started LC. Pray it turns out well. I am nervous about it. I have a new doctor and I am praying she agrees with what I am doing. If not....well, she will be history.

Since I have been threatened....

Tomorrow is my last day of work for a week. I plan on hunting all week! The bucks are starting to get stupid and that makes me happy!

As far as my weight...I'm in the upper 280's. Not shur how high I am in the 280's but I'm there. I just need to get my act together again and start doing it.

I had a junk man out the other day and he paid me 100 bucks to haul away my scrap steel. How cool is that? He is going to come back out tonight and we will finish loading up the steel and my garage will once again be clean!!!! He is do back anytime so I have to keep this short. I have a story to tell you all when I get back. I think you all will get a kick out of it.

Isn't it great to unload all your spare junk?? I guess a scrap man is like the female version of a good yard sale. You'll get back down to the 270's again soon, maybe even while in the woods for a week. We're rooting for you! And good luck hunting.

Hi Eileen! Yes it is!

So a couple days ago I was out in the back garage loading up the scrap steel onto my trailer. I have a couple shelves with mouse nest on them so I went to scrap the nest off with a pipe. I put the pipe up into the nest and out came 4 mice. I started wacking away at the mice and never hit a one. After they left, I put the pipe back into the nest to scrape the nest away. Out of the nest came the final mouse. He ran to the edge of the shelf and leaped off into the air right at me. I started to back up so he wouldn't land on my face and bite me and he landed square on my cheast. I brushed him off and watched him run off. I wish I had the whole thing on video cause I think I would of won on Americia's funniest home videos! He took me by suprise but I was able to still think and react to what I needed to do. Now is that funny or what? I am now feeding the mice some Decon. I hope to have them all dead before I store my mower in the back garage for winter. They will want revenge for wrecking their home and might want to chew on my mower wires...AGAIN!

I called the scrap man cause I was tired of waiting. He is coming tomorrow to get the rest of the junk. That's fine. I have a crisp 100 dollar bill just screamming "SPEND ME AT CABELA'S!"

I'm hunting Saturday morning. The bucks are really starting to chase the does and I'm all kinds of jacked up! Vacation starts tomorrow at 3:00 P.M. and I'm really looking foreward to just sitting in the timber and relaxing! This my friends is what I have worked all year for!

Well, you have finally come "out of the woods" to let us all know you are OK. Only to go back in the real woods to hunt.

Vacation sounds so good right now. I am so jealous. You have earned it though. Have a blast! I want to see some pictures of that big buck you're gonna kill. I love deer meat! I grew up on it. My mom taught me how to make some mean cube steak. Now I just have to find another way to make it....maybe almond flour?

You really need to get back on plan Phil! You know the holidays are right around the corner. I don't think you want to be starting them near 190! Work hard and then you can be a little slack when you will be wanting to cheat. Good luck my friend.

How neat about the scrap money! Where can I get some of that scrap? Have a restful evening.

i'll tell ya about tonite! i had a deer almost RUN. INTO. ME. i was standing at the food plot admiring the little green clovers and i hear this scuffle out behind the swail. i don't think anything of it because the squirrels are crazy around here. then i see this little body jogging around and i see a white tail. at first i thought it was a fox or a coyote and i just saw the tip of the tail, OH NO, IT'S A DEER! this little fawn comes tearing around the swail and runs right up to me. it was like a cartoon, EEERRRRRP!!! all 4 legs splayed out to stop himself, he turns around and runs right back behind the swail. i couldn't believe it. i almost got hit by a deer!

my buddy shot a monster buck, i think i posted the rack in my journal. the deer are gettin' crazy, clayton was down in his stand at the creek and i was at the top of the woods near the corn and he calls me and he's whispering, there's a monster 8 point coming your way, be ready! but i never saw the buck.

if i were to buy something from cabelas, it would either be: A) the scentlok bibs that go with my new jacket, or B) a couple of the wildlife $99 wall hanging pictures. i plan on buying one for my bf for xmas. oh, or some knee high underarmour SOCKS. or a log bed if i have an extra $grand hanging around.

Yes, I do need to get back on track. I haven't made my breakfast muffins for a long time and it really screws me up in the morning. I need to make some. I do plan to hit it hard, I'm hoppng tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Don't waste your money on Underarmour. I bought the Cabela's Polartec long underwear, both a lightweight base layer and the expedition heavyweight stuff and let me tell you that stuff is the shiznit! I stay warmer with those 2 layers (both upper and lower) then I do with my zip in liner for my jacket. It's fleece and does an excellent job of wicking away the sweat through the layers, keeping you both warm and dry. As far as socks, I buy nothing but Merino wool! Super soft on the inside and wicks the sweat away from your feet!

reminds me of Chris the other night.. boy I wish I had a heads up on what was gonna happen..

he was working late the other night.. and well it was dark when he came home.. he started up on the front porch and the two cats where laying in some leaves right beside there.. well the big black cat is very skiddish and jumps and runs when it hears anything.. so Chris kicks in the leaves .. the black cat jumps...the white cat jumps and scared the crap outta Chris.. so he jumps...I am in the house wondering what all the commotion is and he comes in saying.. man I just got the Shi* scared outta me.. he starts to tell me about it and I just crack up laffing,, wishing I had seen it all.. .. hehehe..

guess its just a lot of "cat and mouse " play going on with you fellas..

A buddy of mine shot an at least 145 inch buck this morning! He had 2 does right below him when he saw this buck. We went to range him and spooked the does. They ran off and here comes big boy. Smoked him at 15 yards and watched him fall over at 50 yards. I'm happy for him!!!!

Shot a doe this morning! She's hangin out in the garage. I have to go cut her up in a little bit cause it's starting to get warm. Life is good and vacation has just started!

The wind was blowing pretty good this morning. I did see a few deer this morning but for the most part they were sticking to the middle of the timber and just bedding down. The deer I did see were chasing does and like I said, sticking close to the thick timber to stay out of the wind.


Sure beats being at work!

Aww, i'm just picking on you. My father has been a butcher my whole life, i'm used to seeing dead things in various stages of chop. But i still remember the first time he took my boys (4 and 6 at the time), into the meat locker....it was priceless.
