Hello!

Well school starts tomorrow for the boys and I think their mother is ready. They found their rooms and met their teachers tonight. All things are go.

I have been working down in the basement. It seems like a never ending task but little by little I'm getting it cleaned up and orginized. My motivation has been not being able to shoot my bow. I figure that if I get everything squared away nice and neat I'll be able to work on, clean and lubricate my bow and firearms and won't be searching all over the place for my stuff. I guess things are starting to take shape, but it's slow going.

I was 286 this morning. Still 3 pounds from where I SHOULD of been. Saturday evening we went to a company picnic. Ummm...yeah...the food was good. I guess you could say that I am still in continued recovery mode. Anyway, I was 289 Monday morning and 286 this morning. I've been sucking down water like crazy today so I hope to shed a few more pounds in the morning.

Well, the basement calls.
Take care,
Phil

Here's my thought's about that.

Honestly I find that looking in the mirror does it for me. I know how fast this WOE can work cause I've seen it with my own eyes. I keep saying to myself "Self, I can see your body changing. Little by little everyday. Keep it up self, this WOE isn't bad and it's not hard. Keep going and it won't be long before the compliments start comming in. Then watch out." When the compliments start comming in, I stop talking to my self and start to loose on pure motivation. And buddy, I'll tell you another thing that will change your life is when you try on a smaller shirt, just for grinns....AND IT FITS! AND IT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU!!!!

Something else that I just noticed today is that my lower back doesn't hurt any more. And it hasn't for a while. That's my body giving me a pat on the back and saying "Good job!" Come to think of it, my feet haven't hurt for over a week now.

Life is getting better. Keep up the good work!

Good morning Phil! Great post! Good thoughts for us all. I needed that today. It is amazing when we allow ourselves to go off plan just how long it really takes us to get back on. Somehow it seems OK to take a bite of this or that (especially since you're not eating the whole thing) but little by little those bites turn into more. I am learning this oh so well. I need to remember just how good it feels to be committed. Thanks for the reminder. KUTGW on getting the pounds off!

I'm happy to help! Jake, you keep it up and before you know it you will just happen to notice that you back doesn't hurt any more. Then you long journey will be worth every step.

Beth....Hi skinny chick! You are right. If I mess up, say in the morning, I get in this mind set that well, I already screwd up, I might as well totally blow it. In my experiance, if I mess up and then drink a ton of water and stay clean the rest of the day AND work hard at home things turn up alright. If I carb up, I try to do it in the morning so I have the rest of the day to work off the extra carbs.

Krissy......Well, it hit tonight. I was fletching up a dozen arrows for a buddy tonight and the Hoyt came out of the case and goot alllll waxxxxxed up. She's just dying to be shot. Me so happy!

Hope every is doing well!

Take care,
Phil

Phil you are so right. This woe works so well when we stick to it. It's not hard, and it's not disgusting, but for some reason we (some of us) keep forgetting these basic truths. Maybe i'll tatoo them on my hand so when i reach for food i'll keep remembering it....

Do you think you could make it a point to come over to my journal every day and call me skinny chick? It's sounds so good to me! I haven't been feeling like one lately but your compliment makes my day! I am trying to apply your philosophy on the water. I think that is a great tip!

Dearest Phil, I sincereley apologize for my absence in your journal. Honestly, I have not read the posts I have missed and I hope you are doing well. I will be trying to post one time a day in my journal, and until things calm down and time permits I will not venture outside of my journal. (I am going to leave each one of you a similar message) I just get to wandering and before you know it, it's 3 hours later. With everything on my plate, I just can't do it anymore. Please know that I love you and miss you. Please feel free to post in my journal and keep me updated on YOU.

Hello!

Fall is coming and so is deer season! I am starting to get all worked up over it. Cold morning sitting in a tree, freezing my butt off, watching the tree rats (the nosiy little buggers) and then you hear a different noise. It's not the same as the tree rats. It a lot less nosiy. Almost like something is being verry carefull of every step it takes. Ears standing straight up, eyes wide open. It's a Southern Iowa Whitetail. Instantly your body goes from frozen to sweaty. For real! She hears someting behind her and turns her head compleatly around. I swear they can look directly behind them. No alarm...it's her yearling twins. Making eye contact with them she silently scolds them for making to much noise. She turns her head back around, wags her tail once and walks on. She is lucky today, she is 10 yards out of range of my bow. Man does that beat being at work or what? Bowhunting is my medicine. It's my R & R. When I'm sitting in a tree, nothing else matters. The kids arn't fighting. My wife's not nagging (not that she does anyway(she might just be reading this)) It's my time. It's what I worked so hard for all year. All those saturdays, all those extra hours. I tell work that if they need me they will have to go the the timber and look up. Becarefull though...I might send an arrow screaming towards you for screwing up my karma! I'm obbsesed.

Things are going good. I and sitting right at 283 this morning. I have found my motivation again. I dug out my weight bench and weight a couple days ago and am trying to get my self psychiced to lift starting Monday. I know it will make a huge differance in my weight, my appearance and my state of mind. I mean really, what's an hour a day. I waste that much time doing other things.

Gotta go for now.

Take care,
Phil

Wow, I felt like I was right there up in that tree with you! Great writing! I only went hunting with my dad one time when I was growing up. Yes, I grew up eating lots of deer meat. Both my mom and dad were deer hunters (dad still hunts). That deer meat got DH and I through a lot of hard times financially. Mark's uncle says I make the best fried cube steak he has ever eaten. Every time he comes to visit I have to fix him some. Put it in a homemade biscuit and you can't beat that!

Anyway, great job on sticking with 283! Still need to change your siggy! You're coming down!!!

Hey Krissy! Thank you. I was 282 this morning and am eating clean today no matter what. I went to McDonalds this morning for the kids but all I had was a glass of water. It's free and I'm cheap!

In Dundee? Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and ball cap and spent way to much money! That Trophy Ridge 5 pin lighted site is pretty cool though! I'd take you there for your birthday. I'd have to leave my Cabela's card at home though. I do need a new tree stand...

I just ordered a Whisker biscuit last night...the deluxe quick load model, to replace my N.A.P. quick tune 3000. I had a N.A.P. drop away rest on my Hoyt but I couldn't get it to perform the way it was supose to. I had fletching contact with a drop away...go figure. I will be fletching up some Blazers before long. What do you shoot for broadheads? I have 100 grain Muzzy 3 blade riding in front of a Gold Tip XT Hunter 75/95 with Bohning blazers stearing the whole thing. Gold Tip, muzzy and the blazer vanes seem to get along real well.

I better get back to my oil change.
BBL
Take care,
Phil

What a busy day! I changed the oil and filters in both the van and blazer, I made a huge mess changing the oil in the van so I had to clean that up. I mowed the yard after that which ate up another hour and a half. I'm a wee bit pluged up from mowing but my allergies are not any where near as bad as they were a few years ago. Being so busy today kept me form thinking about food so I was right on track with my eating today. I'm putting down lots of water too!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Take care,
Phil

one more thing...On July 25th I was 295 pounds. So a little over a month and a few screw ups equaled 15 pounds for me. Might of been 20 if I hadn't messed up. I'm not kicking myself though. After all, it's not a race.

I must be crazy...

I took a half a day of vacation today. It's a little warm today but not to bad. I am all caught up at work and figure if I stuck around with nothing to do I would find something to get me in trouble. So I left and came home to clean the garage...total disaster area. I just came in to grab food and say hi to you and I find out that school is being let out early because of the heat,(upper 90's) and here I am thinking about going back out to a closed up garage with zero air moving and working again. That's what this WOE does for you. My energy level is thru the roof right now...I freakin ready to go.

My weight was up by 2 pounds this morning. I ate hot dogs yesterday which equals lots of salt which equals water retention.

Gotta go for now.

I'll BBL

Take care,
Phil

Get out!!! (pushes Phil with both hands!) 280??!!!! That is AWESOME! (And so what if you ate hotdogs and retained a little water....you are still 280!) You are soooo close! Can't wait to have the 270's party you are going to throw around here! My mouth is still hanging open about the 15 pounds in one month! I am sooooo jealous!

P.S. Oh, by the way, my garage needs cleaning next.

How we doing today? Water weight gone yet? You challenge me always in the way you diligently drink your water. I think about it when I try to push myself to drinking more (water that is).
