Doing it right this time!

OK, here goes nothing. I've been on/off with Atkins for about 3-4 years. My major problem throughout those years was drinking. I went from drinking beer and lots of it to drinking Vodka and diet Pepsi when I started Atkins, needless to say, I would end up weakened by the affects of alcohol and cheat frequently which would lead to restarting time after time, until I would not be doing Atkins at all. Well, now I haven't had a drink for about 5 months. I feel much better and think now I can really have a fresh start, I'm not a big sweet tooth person, so I shouldn't have a problem now without the booze. I'm starting at 200 pounds. I can't wait to feel better and look better. I'm 35 years old and 5' 6", medium frame, would love to get down to 130 pounds. So I'm looking at a 70 pound loss for my goal. I've already started working out and have been doing low carb for a few days, but tomorrow I'm starting strict induction. I'm doing this journal to keep myself on track. I believe this will help me to keep track of what I'm eating. I'm also hoping that typing my feelings and such in this journal will help me to keep my sanity. I feel like I'm going through some kind of mid life thing or something, I have ovarian cysts and now have some cysts in my breast, I feel like as I'm getting older, I'm falling apart, lol. My PMS has been really bad as of late so I'm hoping with some weight loss my hormones will relax a bit. We'll see how it goes.
Today I ate
Breakfast: broccoli with cream cheese and pork rib/coffee with half and half
lunch: couple bites of egg salad and a dill pickle, couple bites of cottage cheese
dinnerork rib
snack: 1 square of Lindt dark chocolate 85% (no more while on induction) and a few peanuts.
I have to go back throught the rules for induction to refresh, I have to nix the nuts and chocolate and I think the cottage cheese too. I'm looking forward to this, feel free to just read as I go along, or comment if you'd like.

Hi Luv2Knit, thanks for your compliment on our pup, he's a beauty. I hope you hang in there with me, we can do it! Today, I'm trying not to get really annoyed with my computer, it's acting up really bad. So far, I've had egg salad and a pickle for breakfast and coffee with h&h. I will be checking in this evening and posting the rest of my food journal, I've been lifting weights also. God bless.

Hello, yesterday, I had spinach and a pork rib for lunch and spinach with two chicken thighs for dinner. Hanging in there, feeling sick today. Had a late breakfast of spinach and chicken thigh, had pizza toppings for lunch. Will have something light for dinner if anything at all. Hope all is well with everyone. We went to see the nutcracker ballet last night. That was fun. God bless. Will weigh in on Friday.

Hello journal, today was a good day. Staying on plan and feeling good. Had scrambled eggs with a little roasted red pepper and cheddar cheese for breakfast, brocolli and chicken for lunch and for dinner I had keilbasa with salad and brocolli. I had a good amount of energy today and we got most of our Christmas shopping done. I already feel a little smaller. I also had 2 cups of coffee and some sugar free jello. Drinking plenty of water. I go for another breast ultrasound tomorrow morning, hopefully I'll get some results soon. As far as I know it's just liquid filled cysts. It would be nice if they could just give you results right away. I haven't done any excersize for the past two days because I feel like I'm running a low grade fever, really achey in my upper body and chest, slight ear aches. I don't want to push it and be sick for the holidays. Hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow though, I really want to stick to a routine as far as lifting and cardio. I think that plays a big roll in not being flabby while you lose. My spelling lately is a atrotious, I don't even know if I spelled that right, lol. Gotta go, thanks for listening. God bless!

Feeling blue today, still really achey and found out my right breast is full of cysts also. Had keilbasa and broccoli with salad for breakfast and 2 cups of coffee. Not feeling like eating lunch so will wait till I'm hungry to eat. Will touch base later.

Had the topping off of one slice of pizza for lunch and had a salad for dinner last night, feeling better this morning but still very achey, I'll be glad when that is gone, must be a virus. This morning I had 4 sausage links and 3 eggs, 2 cups of coffee and water. Looking forward to weighing in Friday. Time to take a shower and finish some last minute shopping while the kids are still in school. God Bless everyone! This journal iks really helping me to stay accountable.

Hi pudgy7. Hope you get over the aches real soon. Looks like you had a good breakfast. I spent a little time in the lounge this morning reading posts...I think it's the century club? Anyway, very motivational stories and pics. Just thought I would let you know if you haven't been there already. Have a Merry Christmas if I don't post before then!

Hi Luv2Knit, thanks for the tip about the century club, I'll check that out. My 2 daughters and I just memorized this scripture a few weeks ago, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life!" Proverbs 4:23
It really touched me when I saw that at the end of your post. Thanks!

Yesterday I had 3 eggs and 4 sausage for an early lunch, was starving. Had a small amount of keilbasa and brocolli at around 3:00PM and then had a cheeseburger with romaine lettuce and tomatoe. Obviously my appetite was large yesterday, lol. Today, I had 2 peices of sausage and coffee for b-fast, lunch was 2 ham and cheese rollups with coffee. Snack was keilbasa and brocolli(that's the end of that, no more leftovers, it was really good though) for dinner I'll bake a whole chicken, I'll make some faux mashed potatoes and drizzle some drippings on top, sounds good, can't wait to weigh in tomorrow. I got back into my skin tight 14's today with ease, I couldn't get them past my hips 2 weeks ago. All the more incentive to stay on plan! God Bless!

I am such a dingle berry, I thought that the Proverbs verse was on your message, must have been tired when I posted, lol. My brain is in a fog lately. I just had my chicken, ended up boiling it with cauliflower. The cauliflower comes out really soft and just like mashed taters, yum. I forgot to mention also that I've been grabbing a few green olives here and there, I shouldn't have bought them but I love them, they are loaded with sodium and so I'll probably be retaining water. I hope not, I drain out the juices and rinse with water. I hope my weigh in tomorrow is good. I'm thinking off cutting my coffee consumption down and drinking tea instead, coffee just makes me feel unhealthy sometimes. We'll see how it goes. Take care.

hi! I'm chloe, new here...
I am trying to get to know others a little, and reading these journals seems a good place to start.

I can relate to restarting Atkins. Several years ago, i had reached my goal weight and then a personal thing happened, and I never went back. Now, back up 40 lbs, i have started again. Knowing others have tried before and that there is a second chance really helps me too. I hope I can support you as people are already supporting me here.

have a great day!

chloe

Hi there Chloe, thanks for your input, you can do it again just like me. I think the journal is a great idea and it is really helping me to stay on plan! I don't want to have to type out anything bad that I did, lol. You should start your own journal, it really is fun. I try to get to it everyday and it's something that's in the back of my mind all throughout the day. I make better choices because of it. It's great that you are getting back on plan.
Today I wieghed in and I'm at 194lbs. That's 6 pounds gone, yes! And that's with me retaining water, I can feel it in my fingers. I didn't realize how much sodium I was getting between the sausages and the olives. I'll have to keep better tabs on tha. Today I had 3 eggs and 4 sausages for b-fast, lunch was whipped cauliflower with boiled chicken, yum! Dinner was 2 boiled eggs and a cheeseburger with tomatoe, no bun. I had 1 cup of coffee and 1 cup of tea today, the rest was water. God Bless!

Hello, today is a trial. I'm in a PMSing kind of mood, is raining and it's like 55 degrees! It doesn't feel like Christmas and so I feel like baking cookies and eating them all, but I'm not going to. Instead I plan on taking my girls for a long walk when the rain tapers off. Then later, I'll go out and get some sugar free jello and sugar free cool whip. I have a feeling the next coupleof days will be tough but I have to write down what I eat in here so I think I'll do OK. Today I had 3 eggs and 3 sausages for breakfast, 1 cup of coffee and some water. For lunch I had a little egg salad, not really hungry. My OB/Gyn switched me from a high estrogen pill to a normal dose, I just started them last Sunday, maybe that's why I'm feeling like this also. I'm losing weight so I should be happy, and I am, but man, sometimes I just wish I could escape from my body, yah know? I need to read my Bible and do some praying also, I've been slacking on the reading. God makes such a difference! He really takes these horrible feelings away when I read my Bible, I don't know why I'm so lazy about it sometimes. It's just like excersizing, it makes you feel so good, yet, we put it off. Thanks for listening, I'll be back to post later. God Bless.

Hi there, today I had keilbasa and collard greens for dinner, yum, I love collard greens! I had a really hard time today with wanting to eat goodies just because of the way I was feeling. Instead of doing that, I made myself some chocolate pudding made with half and half and splenda, it wasn't great but it killed those needs quickly, my kids even made brownies and I wasn't tempted, I also prayed that God would help me through this tough time, and he always does. He's the best! So now I'm typing this with no guilt and no misery, how cool. I really thought I was going to crumble yesterday. With the ovarian cysts, my abdomen gets really crampy and burns sometimes and that's what kind of sets me off, it's like having your period but you're not. Sometimes the pain is really bad other times I don't feel it. Still in lots of pain, it also makes me feel sick alot in the mornings, oh well, things could be a lot worse and I thank God in all things, God bless!

Hi hun, wish you felt better. God always knows our needs even before we ask him to help. It pleases him to be acknowledged and praised and for that he gives us victory over our pain. The Holy Spirit will give you wisdom today and through the holiday.

Thanks Luv2Knit. I needed to hear that! I'm just a bit moody as of late. I just got done reading some of my Bible, I'm going straight through this time, I want to actually read the whole thing this time, all the way through. I'm in the book of Kings, the Old Testament is tough but god blesses me for reading always. I know he will keep me strong and provide a way for me not to cheat through the holidays. Here's a funny one for yah, I took 2 packs of unflavored jello and mixed in 2 packs of coolaid unsweetened, mixed them together and put them in the fridge, tasted it later and realized I forgot to add the splenda, so now I have this big bowl of sour jello! Too funny. I might try to get some sugar free cool whip to mix into it or something, maybe be able to salvage it, ugh. I did buy some sugar free hershey's miniatures in case of an emergency, lol. I'll carry them with me. Sometimes it's not so much the goodies, I know on Christmas day my sister is bringing home baked beans, that's gonna be tough to turn those down. I can do it though. And I will. Thanks for listening, as always God Bless!

Hello all, yesterday was a beautiful day aside from my cheat. I did have 3 eggs for breakfast, but when I got to my sisters house, she had lots of yummy stuff and I did have some off plan food, didn't go overboard though. I had ham keilbasa, homemade baked beans, coleslaw, sweet potatoes, 1 roll and I had a piece of cake. Today I feel fine, not even thinking about what I ate yesterday and don't plan on doing that again. I really wanted my sister to be happy, she hosts our whole family for Christmas dinner and she really wanted me to try all of her dishes. I had a little of everything and didn't binge. Today I had 4 eggs scrambled for breakfast and lunch was baked chicken with collard greens. Dinner will be something light. God Bless and I hope everyone had a great Christmas. If you went a little off plan like I did, get right back to it!

Hello all, for dinner last night I had cottage cheese with sausage and ground turkey mixed with a little tomatoe sauce, tastes like lasagna, yum. Had that for breakfast also, lunch was collard greens and keilbasa, snack was some cold chicken slices with mayo. Dinner is boneless skinless chicken thighs barbecued with salad, yum. I've been really hungry all day, usually that means a woosh, one can only hope, I can't wait to weigh in Friday. I love the fact that I can now wear my size 14 jeans without turning blue. Now I'm looking forward to them falling of of me soon. Patience, I know. I'm in it for the long haul this time. I'm drinking vinegar water today, trying to kick a cold, it's my Dad's old remedy, hope it works, also had 2 cups of coffee, yuck, made my head hurt. I need to watch my carbs a little more though, been a bit high. I think I might have to try fitday out. I found it a bit confusing last time I used it. Well, good night all, God bless!

Yesterday I was sick, had scrambled eggs for breakfast, skipped lunch, ended up starving around 5:00, had salad and 1 chicken thigh, was still starving so what did I have? I had a bowl of spaghetti, dumb, dumb, I ended up throwing it up anyway but how dumb. I don't know what came over me. It didn't even taste good, I think I was just being lazy is all. Still feel yucky this morning, weighed in at 192 though, so that's good. My ovaries are bad today. It totally cranks up the ol' PMS. Hopefully I'll feel better later, I think I'll go take a shower, sometimes that helps, God bless.

Hello, does anyone have a problem with posting here? My posts keep cutting short and posting while I'm still typing? Maybe I have a virus or something, it is really annoying because I hate typing anyways, nevermind typing the same thing twice. Here goes nothing, this morning I had 4 eggs for breakfast, I'm always starving in the morning and the eggs really seem to sustain me till mid afternoon, I think I'll cut back to 2-3 eggs tomorrow though, 4 just seems like so many. I weighed in this morning at 190! YES! I feel a little better today aside from my back being really achy. I hope everyone is doing well, God Bless and Happy New Year.

Hello all, doing well. Yesterday I ate pork chops and turnips for breakfast, weird huh? I love real food for breakfast. Then I didn't eat until dinner, just not hungry, for dinner I had 4 chicken wings. I had some chocolate cream cheese, yum for snack. Today I'll have eggs and bacon for breakfast. I'll check in later, oh, also yesterday for a treat, me and my girls walked down to the gas station, about a 2 mile round trip walk, and I got a diet pepsi jazz, that was yummy. I don't really drink soda, but sometimes, it's a nice treat. I'll write more later, Happy New Year and God bless.

Hello, yesterday for lunch I had scrambled eggs with string beans and cheese, it's really good. Then dinner time I had to make pasta and pot pies for DH and DD's, I was tempted because I love the pasta, so I had 2 boiled eggs and I made myself a hot chocolate with one splenda, also had a few salted peanuts. I ate a lot of eggs yesterday, wow, breakfast lunch and dinner, lol. For breakfast, I made scrambled eggs with lots of cinnamon and 1 packet of splenda and a side of bacon, wow, that was really good, nice change of pace. Today I had 4 eggs for breakfast, will get back here for the rest of the days meals. I'm actually hungry today, feels good. I think I'm finally getting over this virus. It feels like spring here today, it's windy, sunny and about 55-60 degrees! This is CT! Weird. I'm not complaining though, God bless everyone!

Hello, I forgot to post the rest of my meals for Monday, I ended up eating some chicken salad and cheese for snack and dinner. Yesterday, I had 2 eggs scrambled with string beans and cheese for breakfast. No lunch, dinner was 2 deviled eggs, 1 pork rib, broccoli and sour kraut. Had a little bit of sugar free jello before bed. Today I'll have eggs for breakfast. It's the week before TOM so I'm bloated and crampy from cysts, I'm still hovering at 190 though, so I'm looking forward to next weeks weigh in because I know I'm holding water right now. This journal is such a blessing, it is really helping me to stay on plan and to stay sane, it's like talking to someone about all you're going through. Even if nobody replies, you know you might be helping someone else also. And I hate having to actually write in a journal with a pen, my hand writing is really bad, lol. Well, till later today, God Bless!

Yesterday I had string bean scrambled eggs with 1 piece of cheese for breakfast, 1 cup of coffee, lunch was a couple bites of tuna, 3 deviled eggs and some broccoli, dinner was barbecued pork and sour kraut. Had 2 slices of roasted pork for snack, yum, but way too much sodium. This morning I am wicked crampy, hugely swollen and retaining lots of water, can't wait for TOM to start. I haven't had any coffee yet today, gonna try and go without, maybe I'll have a hot chocolate later. I just got up a little while ago, I hate getting up this late, haven't eaten yet, I know I'll have eggs for breakfast, then I probably wont eat till dinner cause it's so late, God Bless all.
