Here to the end...or should I say beginning?
My first post in my new journal. So excited to be here! I've been doing plenty of lurking the past couple weeks and know that many inspiring, friendly, and beautiful people visit these boards. I'm so happy to learn, grow, and share with everyone through this journey to new beginnings....
Restarting low carb WOL 12/06/06 at 282 lbs. At one point was at 366. That was 6 years ago. Got down to about 244 and stayed there for a couple years. That was the number where my body just didn't want to budge and I had gotten lazy with my eating. So in the last 2 years I have bungeed numerous times from 244 to 282. Making many stops in between. 282 on the scale yesterday morning really scared me. I haven't been this high in quite some time. I had been staying in the 260's for the last year but just recently went through a medical dilemma, got depressed and let myself go as a result. No good excuse...just haven't developed great coping mechanisms yet. Definitely working on that. So here I am ready to get serous and rededicated to doing something great for ME. I certainly know it's possible. It's all up to me. Funny how there are so many things in life to overcome but when it comes down to it we are our own WORST stumbling block. At least for me that is so true. 366 was a scary place that I don't dare revisit. I am in the process of signing up for a Biggest Loser Weight loss Challenge that the community center near me is offering. You meet with a personal trainer 3x a week for 6 weeks. The cost is kinds high but definitely worth it. I have tapes at home but at this point in my journey I know I need the committment of meeting with a personal trainer to get me started and moving down that road. I'm really excited and I pledge to follow up in my journal with the date I actually sign up and pay my fee for the Challenge! Well here we go... 12/06/06: 282 lbs 12/07/06: 278.6lbs Goals: Loose 35.5 lbs..weight 246.5 Ultimate goal weight: 140lbs. My goal is to break my 140lb goal loss into 4 increments of 35.5lbs. For some reason in my mind that works for me. It seems manageable, doable, yet significant. So for now my goal is to loose 35.5lbs. See you all soon! |

Day 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well I'm here...KINDA...I feel like crap. Friday I had the start of a cold and despite my efforts to fight it off it nailed me straight on my ~$$!! I didn't leave the house..nor my bed or couch all weekend. I'm here at work today...somehow. Ok...really only because I HAVE to be. I used all of my vacation time when I was out for 2 months with my cornia infection that I'm pretty much stuck right now until Jan 1 rolls around. So I'm here sniffiling, hacking, and sounding terrible...and of course getting very justified evil looks from my coworkers who for some odd (yeah right) reason are keeping their distance frome me. I'm the person I hate right now...You know the one who is sick...but refuses to stay home and get better..but instead comes in and passes their nasty germs on to everyone else. Yep that's me today...but really I SWEAR I had no choice. (Lysoling the keyboard down now as I speak).. So wasn't very low carb this weekend but didn't eat much at all....In reality ate very little but when I did it was some chicken soup (which isn't that high in carbs) and sucked on lots of cough drops (which probably are). Also had some ice pops to help soothe my throat..which yea ARE high in carbs. And I drank A LOT of diet pepsi, water, and Tea. Funny thing when my throat is sore I can never figure out what soothes more--warm things or cold?!?!? Anyways, I was sick...I'm slowly getting better & I'm not going to beat myself up for it. I'm in that weird place right now where your starting to feel better a little and FEEL like you should eat but aren't your normal hungry. So going to try and eat my normal lunch and see how the throat handles it... 10am - atkins shake 1pm - grilled chicken salad Tomorrow is 2 week weigh in.... |

Real Day 7
Somehow getting my days screwed up. I guess it's not being able to post during the weekend that got me. TODAY is day 7...not yesterday. To tomorrow will be end of week 1 weigh in. There hasn't been much change in weight since Friday so not expecting much but hey even if I stay at the 5.6 loss I had I will be happy.
Feeling a little better today thankfully but still struggling a little. 8am- Ham & Cheese Omlet 10am - Atkins Morning Start bar 1pm - Grilled Chicken Salad & sf jello 4pm - 7pm - Chicken breast w/green beans or broccoli & sf jello |

Day 9
Watched Biggest Loser last night--AMAZING! What a GIANT dose of inspiration! Can't tell ya how many times my eyes welled up..so proud and happy for all the contestants. Just WOW!
Down another 1.4 lbs this morning. Yippee..So total loss in last 8 days has been 7.6 lbs. May have been that 140 + oz of water I drank yesterday in addition to a couple diet pepsi's. (yeah I was FLOATING!) Message I get from all the biggest losers on the show and frin those who have lost big on these forums--Just DO it. There's always excuses. We all deal with SOMETHING. In the end you just have to put your head down and trudge through and Just do it..even on the days when you can't find the inspiration..Just do it. Don't talk about it..Don't whine about it..Do it. (mini self pep talk ended). 8am - Ham & Cheese Omlet 10:30am - Atkins Morning Start Bar 1pm - Grilled chicken salad 4pm - 1/2 Atkins advantage bar 7pm - Grilled chicken & broccoli |

I don't know if it's all the water or getting past DDT yesterday but I luv this feeling! I never EVER felt this way when I was trying to eat low calorie/high carb. This feeling of control feel so much better then any high carb "goodie" could ever taste. ![]() |

Weight this morning 273.8...down another 1/2 pound for total of 8.2 lost in last 9 days. Today I'll be working on Day 10!
Made this scrumptious recipe for Cream Cheese muffins that I stumbled upon on the boards yesterday. YUM! I may not make these again because of portion control. Carbs are only 2 per muffin but at about 145 cal/piece gotta watch it. Cuz as we know carbs do count more..but calories do still count. Planned Eats: 5:30am - 2 lc cream cheese muffin/ 4 carbs, 190 cal 7am - Ham & Cheese Omlet/3 carbs, 300 cal 10am - Morning Start Bar/ 2 carbs, 180 cal 1pm - Grilled Chicken Salad/ 6 carbs, 350 cal 4pm - 1/2 Atkins Advtg bar/ 1 carb, 120 cal 7pm - Grilled chicken & broccoli/ 3.5 carbs, 220 cal |

Down .8 today to 273.0. That's 9 lbs lost in last 10 days.
![]() Working Overtime at job this morning and then off and running the rest of the day and tomorrow too. Somehow I'm hoping to get a minute or two to relax before I drop over. ![]() Wish I could edit yesterday's post to change my food...Never did have the afternoon snack yesterday and dinner changed to a Double Cheeseburger from Wendy's (bunless) & a Caesar Side Salad. Had a snack of 2 Cream Cheese Muffins later on. (yum) Now for today...This is what is planned. But subject to change as needed... 7am - Atkins shake 10am - Morning start Bar 1pm - Grilled chicken salad 4pm - ? 7pm - Broiled steak (YEAH) and Broccoli & SF jello Last edited by gweny70 : 12-16-2006 at 07:27 AM. |

Wow..I havent been to my journal at this site in forever. Just never seems to be enough time in the day. Working on doing K/E for next 3-5 days to get deep in Ketosis and then either switch to Kimkims or Atkins Induction. But his time--NO PROCESSED FOODS....no LC icecream bars, no LC chocolate..none of it. Sticking with whole foods and doing it right.
