30 days

If you have seen the Supersize Me movie or the show on FX spawned from that, this is what I am doing here.

I have successfully lost 86 pounds LCing since Jan 05 after having my DD. The first year & a half went as planned. Slow & steady, moderate to low carbing...adding in regular exercise in October 05. I truly made a lifestyle change.

Then, somewhere aroung back-to-school time, things got off kilter. I would get off track...eating things I would NEVER touch...junk food & such...then I would get back on track again. 3-5 pound bounces up & down. My little mini-roller coaster rides.

I keep telling myself I need to get my head back to that place I was at for the year & a half. I don't know if I can get there. I am not DESPERATE to change. This is the lowest weight I have been in a decade & a half. I want to keep going. I want to be healthy. Dammit! If I can maintain at 175, she sure as hell can maintain at 165 or 155 or, dare I say it out loud? 145?

So here I go. For 30 days, I am going to be someone I am not presently. I am going to be the person I was a year ago. A dedicated & determined LCer. I will be resolute. Sugar & flour & potatos & rice are on my severe allergy list for the next 30 days.

Fixating on finally getting to goal is too much. 30 days I can do.

Oh Lordy do I feel like crap today. Induction flu stinks. I have a tiny ray of light feeling good about making it thru day one CLEAN. The rest sucks because I am drained, headachey & BLAH.

It will get better. *sigh*

I woke up today with only a tiny bit of a sugar withdrawal headache. More evidence that I was really out control to be still feeling the effects. I completely stayed on track today. 27 days of walking the line to go!

I am down almost 2 pounds, too. I know it is water weight, but I will take it! Psychologically I need to see a number below 175. It will happen. I can do 27 more days.

Sounds delicious, but FAR to high in carbs for my current WOE.

YES!! I am in the K-zone. No more headache. Substantially reduced hunger. TONS more energy for my walk this morning to take DS to school.

Well, I went to realage.com to see what my 'real age' is...only 3 years younger than my actual age. Some of the things they want me to do (like eat 6-11 servings of breads/grains a day) I am not down for, but much of it I am going to try. I will be increasing my vitamin C & E intake. I will do more strength training. I will stop talking on my cell while driving. We'll see how it goes.

OK, day 27 is here & things are good. More of the same for the rest of the day. Oh yes, I am down another pound to 177.

175.6!

Well, that was quicker than I expected. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. My carbs & calories has really been 'up there' for a while so it really is like I am starting new.

Day 26 is here. It is going to be a good day.

Thank you!!

Funny the games that we play with ourselves that got us all pudgy to chunky to fat over the years. Even funnier that I am playing the same 'game' with myself at my own advantage this time. I fell like I can very easily handle the next 25...or is it 24 now?...days. I am not even going to contumplate what the plan is after that.

I was 174.8 today! This is the first time since the end of September I have been able to change my weight on the stats. I finally get to change my weight goal in fitday. I want to be under 170 by New Years Eve. I want to leave the number from 170 & above behind in 2006...and to never see them again in 2007 & beyond.

Life is good. Full of possibilities!

174.2

Still going great! I extended my daily walk to take DS to school this morning. I got in more cardio & when DD (2 y.o.) NEEDED to walk, too, I did a whole bunch of walking lunges to tone & keep my heart rate up.

Breakfast was a veggie scramble w/ a little bit of pepper jack cheese.

Lunch is on the road so I will bring lean turkey & ham & some pepperoncinis. If I want a snack I will stop at Walgreens for some pumpkin seeds.

Dinner...? No clue yet.

173.8!

23 days to go. This is working out really well. I have my appointment for my annual exam tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to going to the doctor for once.

Dinner last night was a piece of cod fish baked with some tarter sauce & a cup of pumpkin soup. I am going to costco today to restock up on good LC choices for the rest of the week.

Well, I survived my first offical Holiday Party/excuse-for-the-masses-to-pig-out-fest.

I love it. Talking to people while they eat their crackers & dip, brownies, hot chocolate, cheesecake...telling me how good I look..."How did I do it?" ...My plate: bacon wrapped shrimp, grape tomatos, snow peas, cheese...

Gotta love it.

So anyways, I know I made good choices as far as what I ate. I think I did well with portion control. It is hard to know for sure when all is said & done. You get socializing & talking & the next thing you know, your little cocktail plate is empty.

I have another party tomorrow night. The scale in the morning will let me know if I need to reign it in at all. Good night!

173 EVEN.

Good to see I was able to manage the social situation last night. I have a lot of running around & baking to do this morning. I am eating a quick breakfast of an egg & cheese roll up. I will be keeping my fingers out of the batters & doughs today. And I managed a pretty good walk with a few sets of lunges this morning. RIGHT ON TRACK.

Holding steady. I did well at the party last night. Now if I can make it thru the next two weeks of Xmas break still exercising while I don't have to walk the kiddo thru school, all should be good.

10 days down, 20 days to go pretending to be the perfect example of a LCer on plan.

172.4!!

I made it thru more holiday baking & was rewarded for my diligence with another half pound GONE. I am going to keep on plan. I can TASTE the 160's...which tastes better than I imagine that the insanely tempting chewy chocolate carmel chip cookies taste that I made last night.

171.6!!!! This is nuts. I NEVER lose this steadily & quickly. I suppose it is because it is not 'me' doing this, remember? Every other time I have done induction, after a few days of doing 'well', I would add in legal stuff, but more food & certainly more carbs than I am eating right now.

Exercise is still my looming challenge over the next 2 weeks of Xmas break. My normal routine is walk/running to & from school to get DS. It averages about 4 or more miles per day. Now I actually need to work it in instead of just doing the routine. The plan today is to bike to the park with DS & DD. Then I will do the stairs next to the playground while they play.

Here was my food yesterday:

1 egg + 1 white ricotta crepe

bowl of pumpkin soup & a few bites of meatloaf

1 1/2 cup of chicken, feta, mushroom & artichoke heart sautee

I went shopping today for new jeans. My only size 14's as so baggy I can take them on & off without undoing them.

Holy COW! I am a size 12!!!!

Oh yah...I bought a pair of calf-high, zip-up leather boots today...and they zipped up over my formerly plus-sized gams!

<--- Me as a 12!!!

Hey Kellysue! Thank you so much! You seem to have made a hell of a lot of progress, too! Your avatar photo is gorgeous! Are you exercising at all? You need to make sure you don't starve your body & slow your metabolism down.

AND, where are you in Montana? I was born & raised in Libby!! My heart will always be there.

I am in Bozeman...I just love Montana so much!

I am not exercising right now...No time with the holidays, but I will be back in two weeks from being away and can hit the gym again. Maybe I am not eating enough...I can figure out anything that works right now...I am a little frustrated, but I will keep going I feel inspired.

Bozeman, eh? Girl, you are from the big city! Well, definitely hit the gym again when you can. You want to keep your metabolism going, for sure!

OK, BIG NEWS!! I can hardly believe it! I had DH come see me weigh in to make sure I wasn't dreaming...

169.6!!!!!!!!!!!

This was my pie-in-the-sky goal for New Years. I cannot believe it. Fitday says I have lost 5.2 ounds per week. I have never lost at this rate before. Then again, this is not me...this is the perfect LC version of me. I take my vitamins...I eat light, LC meals....I go to be a little hungry...I try to remember to drink my water...I exersice...I don't eat any frankenfoods...SF jello is my only sweet treat.

OK, I am going to do it...a little bow to myself.

Here is what I ate yesterday:

2 egg + 1 white veggie & swiss omelet (zuccini, mushroom, onion)

1/3 of a large Gyro salad at the mall & a diet coke

blackened chicken cesaer salad

SF jello

169.6 again! Holding steady. I am thrilled with that result after my 2 pound drop into the 160's.

More Holiday baking to do today & I am NOT scared.

Hey Nicashel,

I need to find vitamins to take. Especially while I'm induction and working our regularly. Do you have any recomendations?

By the way, way to go on your goals! You look fabulous!

Thanks so much!!

I take Nature's Made (I buy it at Costco) Prenatal, 400 vitamin E, 500 C twice a day & 600 calcium + magnesium + D twice a day.

I did an analysis at realage.com and added the E & the extra C recently. It is an interesting website. You should check it out if you have 15 minutes. It calculated my 'real age' at 31...I am actually 34. I will re-do it in three months. I want to be in my 20's again!

Anyways, I have found a big difference in my energy levels, appearance & mood when I am spot on in taking the supplements. Give it a go & see how you are feeling/losing in 2 weeks.

Whew! So busy with Holiday shopping, parties, baking & well, everything else, I can hardly stand it!

I am holding steady for the third day now. I will not complain. Steady is probably good & expected after dropping those 10 pounds so quickly. I haven't been exercising regularly, too. Meals are sporadic, at best, but on target as far was content.

I have to hit the road to catch up on some work tomorrow. It will actually be better that way so I can have a little routine & plan my meals.

Good night!
