Carol's Body For Life Challenge 11/22-2/14
So, I'm really going to do it again? Yup. This will be my 2nd successful challenge (positive thinking...). My goals for this challenge are:
1. Lose 25 lbs 2. Make $500 through side ventures while on maternity leave 3. Complete kitchen renovations 4. Be able to do 10 reg. push-ups 5. Take bikini-clad after-photos on Valentine's Day I had a very successful first challenge back in 2000-2001 when I did it with my then-boyfriend/now-husband. However, I've started and failed at more than several challenges since then. My goal with this challenge is to finally put my money where my mouth is and finish a challenge. A snippit about me: I'm 29 years old, married and have a 3 month-old son. I've been chubby for most of my life. My highest weight pre-pregnancy was 215 and I was able to lose 65 pounds and get down to below 150 for my wedding day. At the height of my pregnancy (August), I was tipping the scales at around 220-ish and have settled into a holding pattern of 197-200. So, here goes nuthin'.

So far, so good?
Well, I was thinking that I would do BFL hard-core style and do my workouts first thing in the morning.... yeah, well..... So I've got this kid, eh? He's 3 months old and still getting up during the night to eat. So, after getting up once to pop the pacifier back in his mouth and a second time to feed him (which, including a diaper change and bottle, takes about 30-ish minutes depending on how quickly I can get the little bugger to burp), I just wasn't really 'feeling' the gym-in-the-a.m. vibe at 6:30a. J gets home from work around 4:30, so I think I'm going to keep with my gym-going schedule at 5:00p. The only thing that sucks about it, is the fact that there's a lot of 'chatters' at that time. You know, people who like to just sit on the equipment and chat meaninglessly with their friends. I much prefer the morning crowd----they're more antisocial, which I can definitely appreciate. I don't have time to talk while I'm working out and I certainly don't want to wait while you finish up your stupid (to me) conversation so that I can bust out 12 reps. Hmmm... someone's crabby today.
Maybe I'll just bite the bullet for tomorrow morning and hit it at 6:30a. Besides, I can always nap when kiddo takes his later on in the morning.... Food for today: 1. 4 egg whites/oats 2. lightly breaded chick patty (#'s are BFL-friendly)/salad with o/v dressing 3. 4 egg whites/oats 4. beef patty/baked potato (not sure what the rest are going to be) Also, note to self---in an effort to make like a little bit easier, I'm going to start packing my meals the night before as if I'm going to work the next day. So, I'll do hub's lunch and my meals and that way, when the kid's screaming and I'm due for another meal, I don't have to think about it and worry about preparing anything. At the very least, I'll just have to nuke something. Weighed in at 201. Bah---been a long time since I saw that. Damn all those cookies and brownies and Cold Stone Creamery visits while I was pregnant. |
