Get on with it already!

I'm new to Atkins, but definitely not to the struggle with weight loss! I grew up with a mom always obsessing over calories and points, and consequently I know all of the "rules" but still struggle with those last 15 lbs! A struggle with me on Atkins is always hearing the negative voices in my head telling me it's not a healthy way to eat. I am overcoming them slowly by lots of reading and research, not to mention losing almost a pants size already!

I started Induction on 10/25 and lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. I decided to move on to Rung 1, but I'm still eating basically the same meals. I was really excited to find this site to learn some new meal ideas!

I love to run and have been fairly consistent with it for the past 8 years. I also cross train and weight lift 6 days/week.

My problem has always been junk food and too much of it! I am realizing that I pretty much need to go cold turkey on that stuff...I'm not able to "eat it in moderation!"

My DH just found out last year that he has celiac disease (allergic to wheat), which actually makes it easier for me to eat low-carb, since he can't have many traditional starchy carbs, anyway. We have 3 school-age DKs who eat "normally," but we have been limiting the junk we buy for them, too.

My goal is to dump these final 15-20 lbs and be a faster runner and better looking Mama....whatever (and however long) it takes!

Ugh...the holiday and next three days were definitely not good, food-wise, and I'm feeling really disgusted with myself. I didn't work out much, and I ate pretty much anything that anyone provided....

I can't let this derail me!! Back to Induction for me....

Thanks Indy...that's just what I needed to hear today!

I'm back on track. It's amazing how the cravings came right back after eating junk...it made me realize how easy it was to keep them at bay while eating low-carb....definitely two TOTALLY different ways of living! I hate feeling out of control, like I can't stop myself from eating what's placed in front of me!

I work in a baking facility, of all places! I need to just tell myself I don't eat that stuff! I run on better fuel!
