Pookie Girl's Journal

I've decided to start a journal so I can record everything little thing that goes in my mouth. Hopefully that will keep me on the straight and narrow.

My fiance has said that he's interested in joining me in eating lower carb, he wants to lose about 20 lbs himself, which would make things a lot easier eating wise around the house.

Back in 2002 I started on Atkins and by 2004 had lost 95 lbs. By the end of 2004 I'd started slipping on the plan and started gaining the weight back. For the past 2 years I've been "maintaining" around 150 lbs. Seeing 160 lbs on the scale was enough to motivate me to get back to healthy eating.

I've decided to start tomorrow because I'm going to be technically on vacation for a week and I'm hoping all the possible withdrawals will be gone by the time everything starts up again.

Today is day 1. I'm in what is hopefully the homestretch of a nasty cold. No weighing today because I'm up several hours early and I've already being drinking water. (No need to frighten myself so early in the day).
As far as a set plan, I'm not sure what I'm doing. Starting with a general low carb WOE ala Atkins.

My first goal in losing weight is to get my rings to fit again without cutting off the circulation. Fat, lil' sausage fingers were the final straw, though my clothes not fitting weren't helping that much. I don't really have a major plan, other than I'd like to see some kind of weight loss within the next week. Let's not lie, I'd like to wake up tomorrow and it be gone (who wouldn't?), but that's not going to happen.

My goals:
* I'm going to try and ween myself down from caffeine a bit. Too much diet soda and coffee, no water.
* Drink water. Lots of it.
* Not eat out so much. My friends and I love to eat out and we don't eat so well when we eat out. (And then we all sit and whine about being fat ).
* Exercise. Because it's good for a body and I really need to do it.

My food yesterday was more than questionable. Too much fruit (it's all gone now).

Working on doing better today. For some reason I've developed a big fear of fat.

6:30 a.m. -
banana (oops)

10:15 a.m. -
2 oz Rotisserie chicken
1.5 cups Romain lettuce
2 TBS homestyle ranch
1 oz sharp cheddar
1/2 tomato
1 hard boiled egg
Coffee with heavy cream, SF DaVinci syrup.

Total Water: 32 oz

Haven't been doing too well. I've gained up to 162 lbs, still sick (viral infection), and eating way too much. I need to get my act together and get back on track.
