jcapulet's journey

Hi everyone, my name's Lisa. Just decided to start my journal

I missed breakfast this morning but had a good lunch. Went to the salad bar and got devilled eggs, taco salad (threw out the shells) and some tomato with cilantro.

We're having some icky weather here in VA. Heavy rain/storms and there's a tornado watch. There's also a tornado warning in a nearby county

Thanks Barb! Everything with the storms passed by evening rush hour yesterday (whew!) and thankfully we didn't get any tornadoes. Just lots of heavy rain. It's nice and sunny today

Aw thanks Kat!! I love the housewarming gift, it's so cute! I'm happy to have a new home, especially seeing you all here!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is in less than a week? We still haven't gotten our turkey yet

A couple of days ago, my Amazon.com order arrived with the 3 Christmas movies I ordered. Last month I realized we don't have ANY Christmas DVDs, and there are some good movies I love. We don't have cable (we're mostly internet nerds) so I figured it would be great to have some keepers. I got: A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott-he's my fave Scrooge!).

We put our Christmas tree up on Thanksgiving day (after dinner). I know this is tradition for some, although for others it's WAY too early LOL. My parents don't put up their tree until less than a week before Christmas. I can't help it, I love having the tree up with all the pretty lights and decorations! Amazingly our dog stays away from the tree...although that's probably because it doesn't smell like a dog biscuit.

Hi Lisa,

I like the Xmas dvd selections. We have a favorite Scrooge, the musical ... I'll have this one: Scrooge with Albert Finney

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Hi Wanna!! I don't care if you're the last one or first one, I'm always happy to hear from you!

Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I'm roasting a 14 pound turkey for just the 2 of us (well, and the doggie). Think the turkey is big enough for our household? I also finally found some cauliflower for my mashed fauxtatoes. Depending on how I feel when I get home tonight, I might bake the sugar free pumpkin cheesecake. I have a feeling I'll be baking it tomorrow though...too bad I don't have 2 ovens!

Mornin. Oops. Afternoon!

With having 3 kids under 9, I have everything from the Smurf's Christmas (didn't know they celebrated!!) to A Christmas Story (you'll shoot yer eye out kid!) to Miracle on 34th Street (my personal fav).

I'm trying to decide where to put my Xmas tree this year being I have a 1 year old that crawls at the speed of light and puts everything in his mouth!! We may have to do a Charlie Brown tree on a table this year!

Hi Sheshy! Wow...I never knew there was a musical version of A Christmas Carol! I want to see it now (I love musicals). I also plan to buy the Nutcracker DVD...it's one of my favorites but I'm not sure which version I want to get.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too!

Hi fit4me&kids! I love that movie a Christmas Story...I crack up every time I watch it. I plan to add that to my holiday selection...not sure if I'm getting it this year or next year (there's too many that I want LOL).

I was giggling at the thought of your little one crawling around so fast! Maybe you could put up a tree, but on a raised platform so he can't quite reach the decorations? I bet he is so cute...

Of course he's cute...he's my kid!!!

In a family of dark haired curly headed people, he's a little redhead. My aunt has red hair as does my hubby's aunt and so does little man. He looks exactly like my hubby...with red hair. At least he's so mellow tempered. He even goes to work with me. Not your typical red head/hot tempered kid that people think of! He walks but hates to as he crawls so freaking fast. I think that's why my weight is finally coming off...I'm chasing after three kids going in three different directions now!

I had curly red hair when I was little...now it's straight and dark brown. I wish it was still red and curly. My Dad is fair skinned with red hair and my Mom has an olive undertone and black hair. I permed it though...so it's lighter and curly

That's so funny about you chasing after you kids, especially the little one!

Hi there!
Checking in to see how your Thanksgiving was??
My youngest DS is taking his Grandmother to see the Nutcracker next weekend. She is thrilled. I have never seen it actually. For some reason I think I would fall asleep!
