I'm back and depressed.
Here's what's been going on: Went to have my teeth cleaned in January and found that I had a massive infection. I'll spare you most of the gorey details, but ended up having a tooth pulled and bridge removed. Infection was in the bone and sinuses. Got a dry socket. Went on over eight weeks of "super antiobiotics". Took months to recover. Vicodin. Migraine headaches. Weaned off Metformin. In March, the baby that we were going to adopt in April, died. My heart is still broken. Finally started feeling better on Mother's Day weekend and dropped a 40 lb. slate paver on my shin bone. Removed large portion on skin on shin bone. It's still healing and I think I'll probably have a scar. Couldn't drive for a couple of days. End of May had a Migraine for seven days straight. Went to Dr. and he changed my prescription. Just got back from a 10 day vacation. Had a migraine. Five year anniversary of my dad's death. $350 worth of car repairs....all while on vacation. My head is spinning ![]() Started back on Atkins Monday June 25. Weighed in at 227. All this stress eating was NOT good for me.Today I'm at 218. Working out everyday. Trying to shed this depression that seems to be hanging on me. Sorry for the incredible downer post....it's just where I am right now. I know that I'll get through it. I just need to perservere.

Still 218. No complaints, though. I'm still down 9 lbs. for the week. It would be nice to lose a pound by Monday morning, though, because then it would be 10 lbs. in one week.
Road the stationery bike yesterday. Want to go on a long walk this afternoon. The weather is gorgeous here today. |

217.5 this morning.
9.5 lbs. down for my first week. Not too bad! My heel is killing me from the walk yesterday. I worked out 7 days straight. Yesterday was supposed to be my "rest" day, but it was so beautiful, I decided to walk. Also, played a lot with the kids and even jumped rope a few times. I think I'm going to make today my rest day and move my upper body workout to tomorrow. |

Wedding was today. Ended up buying and wearing black dress capris and a black and white floral patterned shirt. It was an outdoor wedding-casual dress.
Resisted all "yucky" food AND wedding cake! Yeah for me Started eating coconut bark yesterday. Felt more energetic today. Could just be coincidental. |

![]() It's hotter than blue blazes (as my Grandma used to say) here. I'm sure I'm just holding water because I can't get my rings on. Made the steak-um manicotti last night. Been eating coconut oil/bark. Can't believe how good I feel. Even though my weight is up, I feel thinner. I should take measurements, but I'm not really motivated to do so because I've lost "this" weight so many times. I feel much more energetic. I'm not sure if its that I've been back on low carb enough and that's what's making me feel better or the coconut oil or a combination of the two. I'm up to about 2 TBS a day. I'm going to keep up with it unless I start to gain like crazy. |

216!
Yeah! Made more coconut bark. That stuff is sooooo good. I love the texture. Making Johnsonville Brats for lunch. Roasted red pepper, garlic, and chicken for dinner. My mom and step dad are coming over. I'll make them brown rice and watermelon, also. I have this really beautiful English country garden in my back yard. My dh and kids bought me a fountain for it for Mother's Day. My step father is coming tonight to start running electricity back to the fountain. I can't wait!!! Still hot, hot, hot here. It wouldn't be so bad, but I live in a house that doesn't have central air. We have a window unit in the living room, which makes it bearable. I hope it rains soon. |

From Monet's Journal
DEEP DISH PIZZA 4 ounces cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, 1 ounce (I used the kind in a can) 1/4 teaspoon oregano or Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 8 ounces Italian cheese blend or mozzarella cheese, shredded 1/4 cup pizza sauce 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded Assorted toppings: pepperoni, ham, sausage, 4 ounce can mushrooms, green peppers, bacon, ground beef, etc. Dash of garlic pepper or garlic powder and some Italian seasoning for top of pizza In a medium bowl, whisk cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Whisk in eggs until mixture is well-blended and smooth. Add the parmesan and seasonings, then stir in the 8 ounces of mozzarella until completely moistened. Spread cheese mixture evenly in a well-greased 9x13" glass baking dish or lightly greased and lined with parchment paper (see note below). Bake at 375ş 20-25 minutes or until evenly browned, but not too dark. Let cool completely on a wire rack. When nearly cooled, take a metal spatula and carefully pry up the edges to loosen from pan. Ease the spatula under the whole crust to loosen. Keep crust in the pan. This makes it easier to remove the finished pizza later. Refrigerate, uncovered, until shortly before serving time. Spread chilled crust with pizza sauce, then cheese and toppings of your choice. Lightly sprinkle with seasonings of your choice. Bake at 375ş about 15-20 minutes or until toppings are bubbly. Let stand a few minutes before cutting. Makes 8 servings Can be frozen Per Serving: 304 Calories; 25g Fat; 17g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 2g Net Carbs |

Didn't post yesterday at all. I've had a couple of busy days and haven't been on the computer!
Yesterday I weighed 213 Can not believe that I lost 2 lbs. 2 days in a row! Only 22 lbs. to lose before I'm losing "new"weight, if you know what I mean.![]() Today, still 213. I worked in my garden the last couple of days. I have all these little white lights that I string up. They look so beautiful! |

Went to 215, back down to 214. My weight loss is definitely doing a two steps forward one step back this time. That's okay, though, because I recognize it happening. I'm not letting it freak me out. I'm just staying the course. I'm sure after a few days of 214, I'll be back down to 213. Then something like 212 or 211 and back up to 213. Round and round we go, right?
It's going to rain here soon. I have lots of laundry and house cleaning to catch up on. Grocery shopping tonight. Have a wicked case of poison ivy. Have no idea where I got it from. Took lots of benadryl yesterday. Have a good day, everyone |

Poison Ivy is EVIL....I'm still breaking out here and there.
Bought two new roses last night. Glamis Castle (white) and Barrone Prevost (pink). It's been raining all day, so they aren't in the ground yet. ![]() Brandy, I made your steak-um, cheddar, BBQ roll-up for dinner tonight and it was delicious!! I have roasted cauliflower in the oven right now. I'm going to write it down here because I keep having to look it up elsewhere.![]() Raw cauliflower....sprinkled liberally with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Tons of garlic cloves. Roasted at 450 degrees for about 1/2 hour until really brown and crispy. Stir once or twice during cooking. Try not to eat the whole dish by oneself. LOL Still at 214, but TOM is on the way, so???? |
