Do you know the "click?"

I don't know what causes it or why it happens. It just feels like something "clicks" in your brain, in your life, and eating on plan is effortless. I've had it a few times.....and it feels like I have it now. It's different than "dieting". I'm not striving. I'm not trying to motivate myself. I'm not white knuckling it through my days.

It's just there, golden and glowing and warm.

I'll embrace it and hold on for the ride.

I am so glad to hear that you've had your click, Elizabeth! You will get to where you want to be! I have to say I am happiest when I just know what to do everyday and I just do it without thought .. as you say "effortless". It is the place to be if we are to hold onto this .. the comfort of routine and knowing what the right things to do are.

priceless!!!!

Busy week! Not a lot of time on the computer so didn't get to post here.

I'm doing well.

T-Tapped two times this week and will get another work out in today.

Food-great!

My husband, although he does have a regular job, is a guitar player...jazz and rock. Last night he had a rock gig. My younger two children spent the night at a friend's house so I was able to go. Last time I went to this particular establishment, I ate a lot of carbs. Most of the stuff on the menu is breaded and fried. They have wings, but I'm not a big wings fan and didn't want to leave my success to a food I don't really like. I planned ahead and packed a protein bar and nuts. I figured I could eat those without drawing a lot of attention to myself. I alternated diet coke with water so I wouldn't be so shaky that I would be looking for food to fix my jitters. I was successful! I did come home famished, but had something quick before bed and was fine. Yay Me!

Jazz guitarist??????????

Oh.Mercy.

I must head north to hear him play sometime! Huge Jazz fan, and I love me some Marc Antoine, Johannes Linstead, among others.

Congrats on your discipline with your eats at the club! Now that's the way to do it, Miss E.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Still feeling good! Just floating. Two things I've noticed this week.

1) I posted about cravings in the Main Lobby. Cravings? Check your extras I think I've come to the realization that my particular endocrine disorders will not allow me to eat sweet tasting things. I've got to keep my carbs prety low and pretty pure. I'm being particularly vigilant and it is paying off.

2) Twila commented on my earlier journal post about fear and recommended this video that Sans posted in her (Twila's) journal. video

I watched the whole thing in one sitting. It really resonated with me. I don't know what my "moment" was that made me gain weight. I was normal sized until about 2 or 3. Here's what I do know. I lived in an environment where both my father and mother used food to pacify their emotions. Maybe it's just learned behavior on my part. Of course, the insulin issues play a big part now.

Anyway, the really important thing I gained from the video was about fear and visualization. Every night before I fall asleep, I've been visualizing what it will look like and feel like when I am thin. What type of clothes I want to wear, etc.

I've been imagining the "fat burning switch" in my body turning on.

I've lost 2 lbs. since Monday!

Every time I start to feel scared of the future, I embrace the feelings and imagine how good it will actually feel to be thin.

I'm waiting for the book to arrive from the library. I want to see what else I can glean from it.

This visualization thing is everywhere. Of course, I've seen it before, but never really paid much attention to it.

Inspiration from Fall 2010 Off the Couch from Oxygen Magazine:

How many times have you regretted a workout? Never? -Rose Fitzgerald, pg. 40

Visualize where you want to be. Dream it, talk it, live it. -Rose Fitzgerald, pg. 41

Change the "poor little old me" singsong in your head to "look out, here I come!" Once you convince yourself you count, you will launch a series of positive signals that will help you stay on course. You matter, so step up and deliver what you've got. -Tosca Reno, pg. 54

Do everything in your power to believe you will be successful. Believe you have already done it and live as if you have....Then the message is clear that you believe you will be that newly motivated, ripped-to-pieces person because you are supporting all your decisions, including nutritional ones, in a positive way. Live as if you have already accomplished your dream. -Tosca Reno, pg. 55

Visualization: Mentally rehearse success while stimulating your neural pathways.-Judi Ketteler, pg. 60

Create a Mantra
Create affirmations
See yourself completing a new goal. See yourself completing that goal-review what it will look like and how it will feel when you get there. -Judi Ketteler, pg. 62-63

Elizabeth, so very proud of you, this newfound attitude ya got goin' here. Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!

Visualization is one of the most powerful tools we can implement as we press through each day of our journey. We have to make our goals tangible. We do that through visualization and affirmations. YOu're so right.

Great stuff you've shared. You keep it coming, girl. You are on top of your game...make it a point to STAY THERE.

I'm bursting and I just need to talk about something. I hope it doesn't come across as prideful or conceited because I really don't mean it to be. I just can't talk about it with anyone else. People in my "real" life wouldn't get it. I can't exactly post it on my facebook.

I had something happen to me today that I never in a million, trillion years ever thought would happen. I purchased an exercise DVD and I am in the audience as a participant. Really, really, truly. The DVD was filmed in 2007. I am one of a sea of faces. I am not at my goal size nor am I really physically fit looking, but I am there and I am exercising and now I can stand in my own living room and workout with this same DVD and see myself.

The whole reason I was even at the event was because I entered a contest and worked hard and won my category. I was 45 lbs. lighter than my heaviest weight.

I think it must be the same feeling that you get when you complete a 5K, 10K, or marathon. You don't come in first, but you still kicked butt because you trained hard and you finished. You accomplished something.

I am just flying so high tonight.

I really needed this. I needed this because it is helping me kick that fear to the curb. I won this contest and attended this retreat and I had the time of my life. Then, I came home and I became terrified of success and gave it all away. I dropped my workout schedule and let my diet slip.

Just watching the DVD reminds me of the energy that was in that room and throughout that whole weekend. It relit the fire. I am going to do this. I am not going to be afraid. I am going to roar in its face and make it get out of my way!

Elizabeth, for the record, I get it.

SUH-WEEEET. She's a star! You ARE a star!

The feeling of accomplishment, that "finish-line" euphoria? That is the sweetest feeling in the world.

You're learning to overcome your fears and fight for what you want. You're learning what it means to trust yourself. So happy for you that your passion has been "reignited."

More on fear.

Fear is experienced by ALL God's creatures. The trick is not escaping your fear, but confronting it & allowing it to drive & teach you. Only by getting to the bottom of your fears can you find their valuable lessons & move forward stronger than before.-Jillian Michaels
