My husband's been on vacation. We only have one computer and he's usually on it. LOL

Hope to be back to posting more often in the next week or so.

I'm back.

Made it through my birthday and all the holidays. What a whirlwind. This was my second Christmas season totally on plan.

I was rewarded this morning with a small loss. I am now in the 170's

179.5

Okay, couldn't have been a WHOLE pound because then I could say that I had lost 50 so I'll just be grateful to be in the 170's.

Started to exercise again last night. One of these times I'll make it stick. LOL

Love, love, love my new puppy. Need to post a picture but I'm feeling much too lazy. LOL

Hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks, Monet.

Yes, I hope to be around more. Really want to reach goal by June. Oldest DD graduates and we have a big family vacation with my husband's family at a beach planned for the middle of June. It would be nice to be all fit and trim.

Today is Oliver's 5 month birthday. He's a miniature dachshund and still pretty small.

DH and me on Thanksgiving.

Busy, busy day today.

Going to exercise in a bit. Just my exercise bike. Trying to get back in the swing of things.

Went to visit a friend today. We ordered pizza. I just ate the toppings and then came home and ate dinner. I love how LC is so adaptable.

Just sitting here drinking my coffee. Dishwasher is running. Need to pick up a few things and the house will look okay. Christmas decorations are still up! I have a good excuse, though. I hurt my shoulder so I can't really lift the boxes, etc. Maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a good night!

Thanks, Monet.

Nope, Christmas decorations still up. We have a water problem in the basement that just got fixed last night. Couldn't put the decorations away because they go in the wet part of the basement.

Shoulder is feeling a little better, though.

My dh's birthday was this weekend. He's the big 4-0 now.

It's so hard to get back in the swing of things in January. I need to get on the ball. With life, not with food.

Thanks for stopping by, Lei!

I didn't know you had a doxie. I can not tell you how much I LOVE this dog! His name is Oliver.

It took me three years to heal from the death of my lab mix. My kids thought they would never have another dog.

Oliver is the funniest little dog I have ever seen.

Thanks for the "young" compliment. I keep worrying that all the wrinkles will show up when all the fat is gone. BTW, dh and I have been together since we were 17.

I keep thinking that maybe I should just change out the ornaments. You know, hearts for Febuary, clovers for March, etc. etc. Then I'll be ready when next December rolls around.

It's freezing cold here and dark and dreary. I wish it would be sunny.

My shoulder is feeling better. Yeah!

Hope everyone is staying warm.

I made a pan of brownies for my family yesterday. I hadn't made anything like that in a very long time because I didn't want to tempt myself. Yesterday I was feeling pretty strong and it was cold, so I baked for them. Those stupid brownies called to me ALL DAY LONG. I didn't give in and eat any, but I really didn't need the extra hassle of being tempted. I finally made a chocolate one minute muffin so that I wouldn't eat the brownies. It didn't satisfy the cravings, but at least it filled me up.

It was -15 last night. Wind chill took it down to -27.

I feel so fat today. Nothing has changed. I just feel fat. Hate days like today. Oh, well, I'll just eat on plan and continue on. Can't go by feelings. I think the fact that I washed and dried my jeans on hot/hot had something to do with it. LOL

Going out tonight for Japanese with some friends. Haven't been to the Japanese restaurant for months. Can't wait.

Very, very cold!

Went to bed early last night with an upset stomach. Felt okay this morning when I woke up, but since I've eaten, I have a headache and stomach ache. Hopefully I'm not getting sick.

I feel much, much better today. Spent most of the weekend resting.

Brakes went out on our van. DH slammed into the garage door to stop. Fortunately, no one got hurt.

Got most of the Christmas decorations put away. Man, my back hurts. I think this counts as my exercise for the day.

Can't believe it's been almost a week since I posted. My life is boring.

Tried a new recipe and want to pass it on. Have you tried the White Castle Pie at Linda Sue's site? Oh My Goodness! It's as good as everyone says it is. I'm not a big ground beef fan and I couldn't get enough of it. Had to restrain myself from eating the whole thing in one day!

Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

Try it, you'll like it!

Busy week this week. Home school meeting, crochet class at our house, AWANA, grocery shopping, trip away so my daughter can visit a college, return the hamster we are hamster sitting.......Hmmmmm, that's all I can think of right now.

Thanks, Monet.

Oh, I forgot, I also have a hair appointment in there. Got to keep the greys covered. LOL

Ordered a salad tonight at the home school meeting which was held at a local restaurant. Must have been too much sugar or something in the salad dressing because I have the worst indigestion now. Ya think you're being good and then something stupid like salad dressing messes you up!!

My posting is so sporadic.

It's the middle of February. I have been eating this way for almost 20 months and yet it still causes me some anxiety. I originally started eating this way to control my PCOS and to lose weight. Now I eat this way to control my PCOS and my Migraines. The weight loss has become secondary--a nice benefit, none the less.

I have been invited away for the weekend with a friend. She knows that I have been going through a stressful time and thinks this would be a nice diversion. I agree, but I am scared. We will be in a hotel. I will have very little control over how often or the availability of food. I will be off my sleep schedule (another migraine trigger.). I feel like I might seem obsessed. Controlling my food has been such a huge portion of the success I have had in the weight loss area and in controlling my migraines. I'm not sure what I should do. Previously, I would have taken lots of bottled water and Atkins bars, but since the bars now contain Splenda, I can't eat them. (You guessed it! Splenda=migraine.)

I know that I am worth taking care of. I'm just not sure how to do that in this particular situation.

*****
On a different note, I am feeling the need for exercise. It seems to be a cycle that I go through. I'm sure that if I read over my journal entries, I would see this cropping up around this time of year. I feel a little more driven right now because my oldest daughter graduates in June. It would be nice to be at a higher fitness level by then. We also have a vacation planned for the beach. It will be my "two year Atkinsversary" then.

I'm am frustrated because my back continues to plague me. It's not a matter of being motivated, but rather a matter of finding the right exercise that won't further my back pain. I believe that if I find the right exercise, my back will be strengthened and then eventually heal. Sigh!

Thanks for the good advice, Monet. I hadn't thought about the cut up veggies. I have a few weeks to plan and found out that I will have access to a refrigerator. I plan to make a White Castle pie and cut it into wedges. I know it doesn't sound like the most appetizing thing, but I can eat it cold. I probably will put some blueberries in individual containers. I think I should be okay. I feel so much better that I have a plan.

Did some yoga last week. It made my back feel wonderful! Maybe this will be it.

The sun is out today. Hope everyone is having a good day wherever you may be
