Things 'over there' seem to be rathe quiet. It has a whole different feel than it did in the beginning. I'm glad I'm here now. It's much friendlier here.

Your kids have a long break...that's nice. We get the week after Christmas off, but nothing before. It would be nice to have some time off before too, but I can't complain!
Oh ya, that soup is great!!
I'm glad your dd is thinking about moving near by. Does she have any other family that she has contact with? I know you guys are a huge blessing to her! And vice versa I'm sure!!!
This place is definitely friendlier than the "other place." Do you suppose it is because this site supports a variety of eating styles? Whatever it is, the vibe here is much nicer!
Yup, my kids do get a long break, but they started school on Aug. 7th or 8th, I can't remember. People have been complaining about how early they start school here, so next year they voted to change the first day of school to late August, so I figure our long Christmas vaca. will be gone, because they are still going to get out in May. I grew up in N.Y. and we always started the first Monday after Labor Day.
How exciting to be at your thinest since high school!!! That is terribly exciting!!! You must feel amazing and so proud! And if you don't, you should!!! You also must be pretty close to goal, yes?

The soup actually was better today...guess all of the flavors went through it.

DD has family in Philadelphia that she's close to...that's about 2 1/2 hours away from us. She's not sure where she's going to move. She would love to be closer to us, but has to see where she can get a job.

It may be because it supports a variety of eating styles, but you're right, it is much nicer.

I haven't posted 'over there' in a few weeks, and it's interesting, not one person from there has posted in my journal or PMd me to see if anything was wrong. That's OK though...I like it here much better.

We start school the last week of August and get out the third week of June. We have 11 snow days built into our schedule and if we don't use them all, they take the days off of the end of the year. Last year, we got out a week early because we had 5 days left. When I went to school, we always started the Wednesday after Labor Day. Now most schools around here start the last week in August.

It is exciting to be the thinnest I've been since high school. I'm close to goal. In my mind, I've got about 40lbs to go. We'll see when I get there.

I was just relaxing with a cup of chocolate velvet coffee and listening to George Winston "December"....now it's time to call it a night.

I love my leftovers too. Sometimes dh gets to them before me though.

That's nice that your dd has other family too. All the more people to love her!

I know what you mean about the other place, and most of the people who I really care to talk to are here. Although some seem to have left here as well.

We get a certain amount of days here for hurricane's, but I don't know how many. This year we had one day off for a tropical storm that ended up missing us. YAY!!! We've managed to be blessed with no hurricane's since we moved here over seven years ago. The last one was Floyd, and that was a near miss two days after we moved here. We got here on a Sunday and left again on Tuesday morning to evacuate. It was pretty nice not having a house yet to worry about. All of the Hugo veterans, say get the h*ll out of town and that is just what I would do!!!

You are so close to goal!! I wonder if you will even need to lose a whole 40 more. I'm really happy for you!!

Gotta love the Chocolate Velvet!! It really does make my sweet tooth happy! (I have a packet of Splenda and heavy cream)

Have a great day tomorrow!

I'm doing pretty good. Been busy the past couple of evenings. I've been exercising in the AM again. Did Start It Up today.

DS will be staying at my mom's house tonight so we can do wrapping. Last night, I had an appointment to get my nails done and DH and DS were on their own for about an hour. DH ended up taking DS to a local music store and he is now signed up for drum lessons. They start Jan 4...every Thursday. I'm glad that Santa will be bringing drums for him. DS is very excited about starting.

Well, I better get ready for work.

Have fun wrapping tonight. That is what we need to do. Send the kids to my friends one evening! Thanks for the idea. We're going to my parents for Christmas and I want to have it all wrapped before we put it in the car.
I'm glad he's getting drums to go with his lessons. You'll be surprised how quickly he will pick it up.
We got our ds new heads for his drums for Christmas, and two pairs of sticks to go in his stocking. His heads are really beat up, so it was past time. However, he has an allowance so he could have bought them at any time if he really wanted to!!
I'm off to find shirts for my boys for their annual Christmas pic. Hopefully I will find them right away and get back home quickly.
Other than I will be doing housework. Oh joy!

Well, the best laid plans...didn't get any wrapping done tonight. Ended up doing some more Christmas shopping for DD. I was telling her about the chocolate velvet coffee and she thought it sounded so good, but she doesn't have a coffee pot. So, out we went tonight to get her a Brew and Go and a pound of chocolate velvet coffee. Now we ARE done shopping! No more going out into that madness! It was so crazy tonight!

We'll be wrapping tomorrow AM.

DS is thrilled about the prospects of drum lessons. Now he just has to wonder if Santa will bring him drums. I'm hoping it's something that he really enjoys doing. I think he will. He's always tapping on something, so at least this will be a productive way of doing it.

Well, I'm off to get stuff organized to start wrapping in the AM.

OK...today was spent wrapping gifts. I started at 11:00AM and DH and I finished up at 7:15PM. I didn't realize how long I had been wrapping until DH called and said he was on his way home from helping his brother and that was 3:30 this afternoon. He got home and started helping and we still had 3 hours of wrapping to do. But it's all finished! No more to do!

We had a quick dinner...DH and DS had fried chicken cutlets and I made some bacon and eggs. I'm going to do Ramp It Up tonight and then call it a night.

Hey q, I haven't been on much lately, just very busy since the kids have been home all week and we have lots to do!!! I still don't have my Christmas cards done and it's almost too late!
Hope you are having fun with you dd home. I bet she is a big help to you.
I'm still busy, busy, busy!!! Today we are making buckeyes and banana breads.
My kids went home with my friend last night and I was able to start wrapping. I think dh and I will finish it up tonight after they go to bed. I have to get ready now to go get my three kids and her three kids. I hope to get them all involved in rolling buckeyes!!! That will make that go super fast!
I'm not sure how much I'll be on over the next week. I'm bringing the laptop, but I just don't know!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Hey, SweetE...hope you had a very Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

Things here have been crazy! I was sick the week before Christmas and that just threw everything off!

We went to pick up DD on Saturday...it was so nice! DS got to meet more of his relatives. There's a big family reunion in August that we're planning on going to so he'll get to meet even more.

Christmas was nice. Both DD and DS were extremely happy with what Santa brought. DS was already playing the drums. DH showed him some basic beats and he's pretty good at keeping them.

DD and I spent Christmas Eve baking cookies. I adapted the Jelly Thumbprint cookies to be LC. They came out very good. I'll have to post the recipe. I also made LC peanut butter cookies. Also very good. I'll have to post that too.

We take DD back to Philadelphia tomorrow. Not sure if DS will be going or not. He's sick today, so he may stay with my mom tomorrow. Have to play it by ear.

Well, dinner is just about ready (stuffed chicken marsala), so I better get going.

Hey Girlie,
I'm home! Your Christmas sounds like it was very nice!!! Besides you and ds getting sick! So you have a new little drummer in the house, how has that been? When does he start his lessons?
We just got home yesterday and my drummer went right to work changing the drumheads he got for Christmas and adding the new cymbal.
We had a nice time, first at my parents and then in Alabama, where my dh's siblings and their families all congregated for five days. It was crazy but fun! I think next year it will be up in New York. The five of them take turns hosting and not one of them live in the same state.
It's really nice to sleep in my own bed again.
I went off our WOE last week and still need to get back on. I am planning on grocery shopping in the morning, so all will be good and I'll feel better again.
I'm taking the kids to the movies, so I will check back with you later!
HUGS!!!
Erin

Hey...glad to hear you had a great time.

DS started his drum lessons on Jan 4th. He really enjoyed it! His instructor told DH that he did a really good job. He paid attention and did what he needed to do.

Life's been a bit crazy...not much time to check in on here. I've been doing well with eating and exercise. I was thinking of going back to induction, but that didn't happen last week. I didn't plan well, so probably this week coming up. I need to kick start this again. I'm not losing as quickly as I want to...even with all of the added exercise.

Well, time to go do some things for the day. I'll check in later.

Hey,
I'm glad your ds liked his lessons. He will be a wiz in no time. My ds got asked to play for church. So he will start practicing with them on Wednesday afternoons. He is so excited!
I am back on induction as of tomorrow morning!!! I have been horrible. But I did finally make it to the grocery store Saturday morning, so I'm ready now.
The for sale sign is in the front yard finally!!! I'm not quite ready, but I don't know if I ever will be as ready as I want so, it's up. There are three other homes on my street for sale and they are all using an agent, so hopefully they will help bring the traffic through for us to sell by owner.
I'm looking forward to keeping busy this week as I go back on plan. By the weeks end the cravings should be gone and the headaches too. JOY!!
I hope you kick start your weightloss. I think I am going to try something new. I want to eat dinner for breakfast, meat and veggies and then meat and veggies again for lunch and then just protein like eggs and bacon for dinner. It's just reversing my normal breakfast and dinner. I was reading some about the Reverse Diet, so I decided I'd like to try it, but still do Atkins.
Well I'm going to do a few things around here before I go to bed. Have a great day with the kiddies tomorrow!

Hello,
How are you? Keeping very busy I see. How is your January treating you? Did it get cold on you all of a sudden too?
We had very warm weather straight through the holidays and into the new year. Then all of a sudden Monday afternoon, our temps took a plummet and are still down. I miss my 70 degree weather, but I got a new jacket at Lane Bryant last week on sale, so I'm getting to wear it now. Pathetic huh? It really is the only reason I am glad to see the temps drop.
I picked up my DS 14 from school this week for a Dr.'s appointment and he walked up and said, "You're a hot momma in that jacket." He's such a nut sometimes, but a charming nut!
Not a lot new going on for me. Today is my fourth day on induction and the sugar cravings are starting to subside. I'm still really hungry, but that I know will pass soon too. YAY! I'm keeping myself busy, hoping my house will sell soon.
Have a great day, q!!!

Been a while since I've been in here...been busy.

January's treating me pretty good. Eating's been on plan, but exercise...well, that's another story all it's own. Haven't been very good in that dept...not exactly sure why either. Have to get back into it. I really need to do my AM exercise before I get ready for work. I have a lot more energy throughout the day when I do.

Our weather turned cold all of a sudden too. I don't like it at all! Actually, it's 42 right now, which isn't bad for the middle of January.

I was planning on starting back on induction, but haven't done that yet either. That might be my plan for the upcoming week. Back on induction, back to exercise in the AM, back to only drinking water (no diet soda, no diet green tea, only water).

DS had a wrestling match today. He was doing really good, then he let the kid go and he got pinned...so frustrating! He's enjoying his drum lessons. His teacher is really nice...seems to be a good teacher too. He worked on a "paradiddle" (not sure if that's spelled right or not). Don't ask me to explain it...I can't.

Well, I think I'm going to go and exercise. I have a new DVD, "Core Secrets" that I'm going to give a try. It's only a 25 minute workout, so that shouldn't be so bad. I really need to do some stretching before I do that though, my muscles are so tight!

I'll check back in a bit later. Have the day off tomorrow, yeah! Might actually get to sleep in a little later than 4AM!

Hope you enjoyed your day off and hope that you got to sleep in!!! I did and it felt great!
Our weather can't make up it's mind. Christmas was so warm 70's, then a tiny cold snap hit and then back to the 70's -80's. My maple tree has buds on it!! I'm sure they will die off, as cold weather is on it's way back. I do love my new jacket, so I'll be happy to wear it again!
I am having trouble getting in the exercise groove too. It comes and goes. Maybe because I am so caught in the house selling process at the moment. I have a lot of extra things to keep my days busy that is for sure.
Cute, you have a little wrestler. My dh and his brothers all wrestled, but much to my dh's dismay, our boys weren't interested. I hope your son will have a better match this weekend.
How are the little school kiddies?
Have you tried any new recipes lately? The only thing I've done is learned how to broil a better steak and london broil thanks to Rachel Ray. It's true, I can actually make a london broil taste good and tender now. All you do is let the meat sit out for a bit, heat your pan in the broiler, pour some Worchtisher (sp?) sauce the meat and salt and pepper, both sides. Then cook each side for six minutes. Four minutes for strip steaks. You probably already knew all this, but that is my only tip for the week!
Have a great day!!

Been a while since I've been in here.

Last week wasn't so good. I had the flu. Nasty little bug. I missed the entire week of work. That's never, ever happened before! I'm feeling better now and hopefully, will be back into a normal routine next week.

DS has a wrestling tournament tomorrow. Oh, what a long day that's gonna be! It's at the school I work in, so I can go to my office when we're waiting for him to wrestle and get caught up on some paperwork.

I haven't tried any new recipes lately. Have to get back to that.

I also have to get back to the exercising. I finally got that heart rate monitor and haven't used it yet! I got it last Friday and got sick on Sunday. It's sitting on my desk looking oh so lonely!

I'm going to start the AM workouts again. Even if it's only a 20 or 30 minute workout in the AM, then again in the PM do a more intense workout. I'm not losing weight and I'm getting frustrated! Need to do something to kick start it again. I keep saying I'm going back to induction, but haven't done that yet. That's actually what I should do...go back to induction for 2 weeks and then re-climb the ladder. I have to get in that frame of mind though.

Oh, well, better get going for the night. Have an early AM and a looooong day tomorrow.

Well, today was the tournament. DS did GREAT! He took 1st place! He was so happy. He did a great job! Got a lot of compliments from the opponents' parents---"wow, he's fast", "he's an aggressive wrestler", "for how small he is he certainly is powerful!" He got a trophy and a T-Shirt, plus was smiling from ear to ear! He qualified for the All Star Tournament too.

Eating was on track. Water, well, not so much today. The snacks were kind of far from where we were, so didn't drink too much while we were there. Trying to make up for it now. I'm planning on exercising at 7PM. Probably do Core Secrets 25 minute workout...ease my way back into it after the flu.

This upcoming week at work is going to be interesting. I missed all last week, so trying to get the kids back into the swing and myself back will be a treat.

Well, going to go look around here for a while then exercise.

It's been a while since I've been here again...still doing good with the eating on this WOL. Exercise, well, exercise is another story. I got sick at the end of January, had the flu for a week and didn't do any exercise then. Pretty much just slept that whole week. Then had to get back into a routine with going to work and all the stuff there that had to be done. I know, excuses, excuses! But, I do have a plan. Monday AM I'm going to start getting up 15 minutes earlier and doing a short workout in the AM. Then in the evening, do the longer one. That worked really good for a while, so I'm hoping that it will work once again.

We've been busy with DS and wrestling. He won the league tournament a few weeks ago, took 1st place in his weight class and then yesterday, he took 2nd place in the All-Star tournament. We're very proud of him. There are a few more tournaments that he wants to go to this year, so we're not done with wrestling yet.

Work is going good. I'm still very happy about being at the middle school and high school level.

Today looks like we have grocery shopping and laundry on the agenda...really dislike both!

I'm going to go look around and see what's been going on around here.

Hey,
Sounds like you have been busy! Sorry to hear you had the flu. The last time I had it, I was down for a solid week too. I'm glad you are doing better. I know it takes a few weeks to actually start feeling really good again. I'm so glad your ds is doing so great in wrestling. It's fun to watch him I bet, but I know you are on pins and needles the entire match. Fun stuff!!
I have been subbing at a small Christian school a lot lately and I just got the call for tomorrow too. I said I would but my dd has been coughing her head off yesterday and today, so I'm wondering if I will have to cancel. I HATE doing that, I always feel so bad. There's a slight possibility that my dh could come home for dd if he has to.
Eating has been blah!! Nothing new and getting tired of the same old stuff. No exercise either. Kind of weird how unmotivated I have been post holidays.
Well, I may get back on later or perhaps in a couple of days.
It's nice to see your posts!!

Well, we had our first "official" snow day yesterday and our second one today. We got hit with a heck of a snowstorm yesterday. We had about 8 inches of snow, 3 inches of ice on top of that, and another 12 inches of snow on top of that! We now have a winter wonderland outside. I'm kind of annoyed though. We didn't have snow all year and the day of parent/teacher conferences we have snow. Now, the conferences are next week instead of today. Not sure if we'll even have school tomorrow. Now the wind has picked up and it's drifting and blowing.

We're very proud of DS. He's doing great! You're right, I'm on pins and needles for those 3 minutes.

I haven't had any new recipes lately. I've got to try some new things. Like you, I'm getting tired of the same old stuff. DH usually comes up with something new, but with all of the running we're doing, it's easier to just make what we know.

Glad to hear that your subbing. Hopefully, DD is feeling better now.

Well, going to go look around here then have some breakfast.

Well, I think I'm finally getting back on track with exercise. I've decided that with Lent starting it's a good time to set some new goals. A friend of mine and I have decided that we are going to keep each other accountable for exercising. I don't want her to get the upper hand, so I'll need to be sure to exercise. I'm going to take my measurements and weigh tomorrow AM and not do it again until Easter AM. That's a little more than 6 weeks, but that's OK. We're going to be doing the Slim in 6 and Turbo Jam DVDs for exercise. I know they work...they have in the past...but only if you do them!

I'm also going to be going back to NO DIET SODA!!! I'll be drinking water and home brewed decaf green tea. If I have coffee, no cream or splenda. I'm also going to try to cut out the between meal snacking (unless I'm REALLY, REALLY hungry). It seems to be that I have a snack on the way home from work just because.

Also, more veggies...I've been slacking off on the veggies..have to get back to salads more often.

And try to be more patient with everyone around me.

So...it's:

1~Exercise
2~Water, water, water
3~Less snacking
4~More veggies
5~More patience
6~No weighing until Easter AM

OK...that's something I can do.

OK...today was pretty good. Had the day off for President's Day.

Exercise was Ramp It Up today. My heart rate was actually within my target zone for this one. Yesterday I did Core Secrets 25 minute workout and my average heart rate was 111. Today the average was 134. A lot more movement with Ramp It Up.

We went to get some gifts for DS's wrestling coaches today. We ordered a plaque for the head coach that says, "A good coach improves your game, a great coach improves your life. Thanks for being a great coach!". We also got brushed stainless travel mugs for the head coach and asst coaches with a wrestling emblem and their name engraved on it. I think they'll be pleased. It's hard to get gifts each year. The coaches don't change year to year. Wrestling isn't easy to find gifts for coaches. His football coaches are much easier to get things for at the end of the season.

My friend called this afternoon. She did Turbo Jam Cardio Party and she was exhausted! She said that she had to take a lot of breaks and drank about a half gallon of water. No problem. That's how it's supposed to feel! I'm going to do Cardio Party tomorrow. Check the heart rate on that one.

Well, time to get DS moving to get his shower.
