4 Bills new to this
Hello all and good luck to you.
I started Atkins on October 30th and I am guessing my weight to be near 400 pounds at the onset. I have been afraid to get on the scale. I know I am heavier than I ever have been though. I think I am going to try to guagemy progress more on how my clothes fit than the scale.....at least for a while anyway. Well I am 12 days in now and am down a pant size already ![]() |

Good morning! Welcome to LCF. Though I'm relatively new to this board, I was a very active user on another board and find LCF to be a really nice atmosphere!
Congrats on your weight loss so far! As long as you know what pants size you started at and where you're at now, the scale isn't that big of a deal. Since you are keeping track of SOMETHING, that's what counts. You'll want to look back on this journey and know where you started. I took a starting picture (though not at my heaviest) and did pop on the scale. I also started by keeping track of sizes. Now, I do use the scale, but I think it's because I finally hit my halfway point. It does help to journal your food and water. Don't forget your exercise! |

Thank you so much for the welcome. Nice seeing others are doing this as well. I almost thought this way of eating was dead anymore. I need to get to exercising. I have a gym membership and had actively worked out in the past. If I dont get up early and go I wont go!

Hi 4 Bills, someday I would like to know what that means. Its kinda a catchy handle.
Atkins is the perfect diet for us heavy weights because the food is so delicious. I often think of those horrible low fat days when I wanted to throw something cause the food was so bad. I had to cut down on my cheese, but only a little |

day 14
Well here I sit 16 days down and feeling good. I had a rough couple days but still managed to not crash and burn. It all started Monday night when I made spaghetti for my daughter and her cousin. Man I could eat a ton of that when I wasnt low carbing. I love the smell of spaghetti sauce and it was getting too me but I did ok. Then Tuesday I had a rough day at work but managed to eat well but I did have a Michelob Ultra with my meal and water.
The past week I have felt bloated and constipated. Now the last 2 days it has turned around and things are much better. I only manages to lose a pound in the last 5 days but I think with my new found regularity maybe it will pick up. So far in 16 days its looking like 21 lbs!!!!! As long as I stay away from certain triggers I think Iwill be alright. The stress eating is something I need to continue to work on. As long as I grab the right thing I think I will be ok though. awesome mister !!I know all about the smells of spaghetti and stuff.. have you checked out the recipe boards? they have a mock spaghetti.. made form squash I believe.. I haven't made it yet myself.. but I hear its pretty good.. keep up the great work hun.. I'll be watching for ya.. ![]() |

Thanks for the support you guys I really appreciate it. Tomorrow is day 21. Hard to believe 3 weeks have passed. I'm down 25 pounds and have worked out 2 days this week. Took Sunday off was a bit sore. I did notice though that when I worked out I got a bit hungrier at lunch time. I hope thats normal! I need to make sure I eat breakfast thats the hardest part so far. OK well I will check in again real soon. Thanks again all!!!

You are doing an awesome job!! Do you know about Dreamfields pasta? It is very low carb. A lot of the big grocery stores are carrying it now. Of course, you'll have to watch your portions cause it tastes just as yummy as the regular kind.
