BFL Chick's Marathon Ambitions
I have always wanted to be a runner, and I'm going to stick with it this time!
I've been running for 6 months. I need 6 more months under my belt and then I will begin training for a marathon. Current goal is to run at least 3x per week for stress-relief. 1 of these will be a longer run to help me build endurance. I can currrently run 60 min....Goal is to slowely increase these to 90 min.... Going for a quick 30 min run before I get too sleepy! |

Really exhausted today for some reason. I did yoga for an hour, then 2 miles, then some ab work... Will rest tomorrow Sunday will be 70 minutes |

I haven't been running this week at all! WTH Is wrong with me! UGH!!!! I can't go tomorrow, on Thursdya, or Friday either....freaking lectures all morning and then night shift in the ED. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I finally got my lazy butt in the gym and ran for 70 minutes, followed by 20 minutes of yoga, and 10 minutes of abs....

Ow my calf hurts! Actually more like my achillies tendon. So I guess today I will do yoga only again....I guess running up and down the stairs for 2 days straight was not such a brilliant idea....

Book Recommendation
Hey BFL Chick,
If you're serious about training for a marathon (particularly your *first* marathon), I would love to recommend a book to you. It's called The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer. (By Whitsett, Dolgener, and Kole.) You can find it at Amazon.com. I used it to help me through both my first and second marathons, and it was FABULOUS. Really a good, down-to-earth guide to marathon running for "mortals." (And it's specifically geared for first-time marathoners.) For people who have that wild and crazy notion that they're going to go out someday and stay on their feet for 26.2 miles. Yes, it can be done! I've done it. You can do it, too!

I took my lazy a $ $ to the gym again yesterday after a week or two of no exercising....Did 30 minutes....Now that I'm on an easy rotation, I won't have any excuses!
