Hi Richelle. It's great that you like working out. I wish I did. lol
Sticking to healthy eating can be tough. It helped me a lot to finally realize it was a way of eating, not a temporary diet. If you go on any diet with the intention of losing the weight and then switching back to "regular" eating chances are you'll gain it back because the "regular" eating was what added on those pounds in the first place. lol Once I got my mind around that it helped me stick to my woe. Before that I thought of Atkins, or any way of eating besides the high carb high fat eating I'd been doing, as something to endure until I got to goal and could eat those unhealthy foods again. When I look at it as a woe it makes it much more enjoyable.
Great pictures btw. I think you look beautiful, even in the Germany picture. You'll look awesome at goal.

At just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. --Romans 5:6-8

What a beautiful name for a beautiful young girl! You are just darling and I love your smile.

It's great you are going to get your weight under control at such an early age. Don't fall into that trap of yo/yo dieting. It really screws up your metabolism.

Being so young - you should be able to shed those pounds quickly (high metabolism) and that's a good thing. Please don't start/stop/start/stop. You can do this - remember, it's about 98% mental.

Good luck and come here often to read and post. It really helped me stay on my WOE!

pretty girl!

I was always a yo-yo dieter too. When I was in H.S. I was really active with sports and everything and I stayed pretty slim. Even in college...

Then after I had my son at age 29 I gained tons of weight. Completely let myself go. Was in major denial about my weight and didn't even realize how big I had become. Wore baggy clothes and even shopped in the men's section. YikeS!!!! I looked like a bag lady!

Found Atkins through my sister. She was losing weight eating foods like chicken wings with ranch and bacon. I thought NO WAY can you lose weight eating all that fat! WRONG!!! I began in June 2003 wearing a size 22. I now wear size 6.

If I can do it, so can you!

Good luck and keep us posted.

Nope I don't work out at the moment. I'm thinking about starting this week though if I can find the time between class and work. I actually do like working out. It's the finding gym clothes, finding the time to go, taking a shower after, and all that that I dislike. lol

Hey Richelle---

First off... I don't see 60 pounds on your body that can be lost!!! And I mean that as a compliment... but maybe your goal weight should be higher!? I joined this board when I was 17, too... and now I'm 23. My, how the time flies! Let me just say that you have found a wonderful site for a teenager. Even now there is nobody I can talk to in "real life" who understands how I eat and why I eat that way. If they knew I was peeing on keto sticks they would be seriously afraid. What plan have you been following? You said after a few days you quit: do you know if you are getting into ketosis?

You can definitely do this! If you want personal info on me I have a journal, too... it should be posted in the "a little piece of my heart" link under my signature. If you need any advice or support feel free to PM me or post in my journal! Good luck

Richelle,

I first want to wish you well with this WOL. I noticed your pics in geechi girl's Journal, you are such a pretty girl and you have such a kind spirit. Stay that way . You look great in all three pics, but you have to feel comfortable with who you are and where you want to be. When I started this WOE, for the first time I was 185 lbs and I have re-inducted at 210 lbs for the ?? time. With that said, one must make this a WOL, not a fad diet or you will gain the weight back and more. We are similar build, and it surprises people when I tell them how much I weigh. I guess we carry our weight well . Have a blessed night, and make sure to plan your meals.

Hi!
You are such a pretty girl. I wish I would have been as mature as you at 17 and realized I needed to correct the way I eat.

You are very much on the right track. Just make sure you get in lots of exercise in some form that you enjoy (no exercise is good unless you stick with it).

Good Luck on your journey.

i want to thank everyone for their comments, support, compliments etc etc

i apologize for not 1. responding faster and 2. for not responding individually, however the times that i am on here most are during school, so i dont have all that much time..

right now i am in a bit of a struggle--i am having a hard time STICKING with something...or like, for ex, yesterday i did great with exercising and eating, until like 9 at night,i had a bowl of this healthy cereal, but even though its healthy, i feel a bit guilty cuz you know, i made a decision to do LC but i just dont stick with it..ugh..whatever..i need to really make a decision and just DO IT...cuz everytime i stop, start over, fail, start over again etc etc, it just messes up my body as well as messing me up emotionally....

ugh, sometimes being around me at the times/days that i cheat on my eating, i am not fun to be around, and i feel bad..but i feel sometimes as if its something i can't control...
any of you ever have this problem? or am i just weird?
lol

Richelle,

Hang in there. This WOE is life changing and it takes time. Don't beat yourself up and feel guilty. Take it one day at a time and DON'T give up on Low Carbing if this is what you want to do. Maybe check out the recipe section for some Induction meals. Good Luck with whatever you choose to do!

so last wednesday, thursday, and friday i was sick-out of school..so with being sick, i wasn't on "track" or anything like that..i drank OJ when i felt like crap, ate soup..etc etc...i didn't exercise either because i had like no energy at all. today im back though. the past 3 days i have been eating great. i feel great. i didn't get to wake up early to go exercise before school though because i had troubles falling asleep last night, however, im going after school so its okay.

i hope you all are doing well with everything.

We will have about 20 degrees in the morning too. Where are you from? Your goals for tomorrow look good. I'm hoping once winter really sets in I will be able to do some work outs through the winter but we will see. Keep us all posted on how you are doing.
