Keeping It Real ....
I’m having a hard time starting MY story. This means so much to me. It’s like I’m taking that last and final step in my weight loss struggle. That step for me is being truthful to myself and others. Here’s my story…..
I’ve always struggled with my weight. This has been a life long battle for me. When I was younger I was always the “big girl”. Everyone would say “you have such a beautiful face” as if the rest of me was just HORRID. I remember being 8 or 9 yrs old and sneaking candy or chips. I finally decided in high school that enough was enough. I ate one meal a day and worked out 3 times a day getting down to 190ish. I maintained for awhile then met my ex-husband. Well, needless to say the stress of a relationship didn’t do well for my weight. I was 18, steady gaining, and just found out I was pregnant. Despite all the issues in my relationship, I decided to marry my ex-husband and try to make a family for my daughter. Of course that didn’t last long, we divorced and again… more stress. Gaining all my weight back… plus extra during my marriage I weighed over 300lbs. ::YIKES:: What was I thinking??? Being a single mom and getting things done I did lose a lot of the weight. Within a year, I went back down to 220ish. Now this was at least 8 years ago. ::SIGHS:: This brings us to my current situation. I managed to gain all the weight back. I can sit here and give you all the reasons I’ve made up in my head. What good would that do me? Well it’s simple… I OVER ATE and now I’m here starting over yet AGAIN. I’ve found every reason to satisfy my own need to overeat. It’s time for me too KEEP IT REAL… I found this board several years ago… that’s when I met Chrissy (Dreamsunwind). Chrissy has been a great friend. Thanks soooo much for all your support. I decided to get real with myself on July 24th.. I worked up enough nerve to finally face my weight. I hoped on the scale and it said….. 360. OMG… I cried and cried. Then I decided that was it and I wouldn’t go down without a fight. This is my first step… being honest about my weight and eating issues with myself and others. My goal is to come here everyday and post my menu… feelings… any and everything. I can give myself one full year… no cheats.. just staying focused. I’m managed to find time to do everything but take care of me. So now… It’s MY TIME… Keeping It Real.. Cee![]()

Today has been pretty busy. Just finished my workout and I'm feeling great. Not sure what I'll have for dinner today.. I'm thinking a low carb taco salad.
Feeling good and staying focused. |

Congratulations on taking the steps to make your life healthier. You can do this. I really love this site and all of the support here. Post often, hey if you gotta write in your journal 5 times a day at first, i say do it. Whatever gets you healthy. Oh yeah, great name for a journal lol im lovin it!

Thanks alot Sally... support is key for me.
Well I went to stay with a friend... stayed on track for the most part. I didn't get my workout in but I did jump right into when I got in this morning. Menu so far: B - coffee with sf cream splenda - 2 HB eggs L - Tuna (eggs and lil mayo) D - crab cakes (I think) Jumping back into my water today.... so far... zero ounces... filling it up NOW!!!! |

![]() Getting off track with my workout was a BIG mistake. I had the hardest time getting up this morning and I didn't want to workout at all. I'll get it done as soon as I get home from work tho. I know what I need to do.. why is it so hard to just DO IT????? I know at my weight working out is very very important. Its important at any weight. I know this... Ok.. enough.. time to jump in and get busy. Menu : B - 2 HB eggs S - Protein Shake L - tuna salad (lil mayo, tuna, and 2 hb eggs) D - grilled chicken / deviled eggs |

We can get things moving together. Its amazing how great it feels AFTER the workout. I really need to be firm and toned...I have so much to get off.. but one day at a time. Hope you have a great day. |

Congrats on getting on track! I looked at your menu and thought to myself that I would feel like I am starving on such a small amount of food and so little variety. We are all different though so I truly hope that is working for you. Ugghhhh ... the "such a pretty face" comment. Isn't it one of the worst? I remember being at a skating rink when I was 11 or 12. I skated past a group of young adults. They looked to be in their early 20's. They were some of the "beautiful" people. Anyhoo, as I skated near them, I noticed they were looking at me and saying something. As I got closer I overheard one of the women saying "yes, but she has such a beautiful face". I skated on past them and into the bathroom where I stayed in a stall crying until I was picked up to go home. I never went skating again.Unfortuantely, some people are cruel. Even the ones who think they aren't can be in a lot of ways. However, it is time for you, me, and everyone else here to decide they don't matter right now. The only thing that matters is us reclaiming our lives, our health, our right to BARE arms and wear bathing suits!!! Congrats again on starting your journey to reclaim your life! Take Care and remember .... WE CAN DO THIS .... TOGETHER!
