Jojo's Journal

Alright, here it is another attempt to keep me accountable.

Went to the gym this morning in an attempt to burn off the extra calories I consumed yesterday. Although I know you cannot "undo" the damage but mentally I feel better. Thats after doing an hour and a half of cardio last night. I think I have refound my old love "the stairmaster". I used to be the stair master queen and havent touched it for a lonnnnng time. Ironically, it was the time I was using the stairmaster as my main source of cardio that I had the firmest *you-know-what*.
Well, I have pulled my hip flexor and so my running has been regretfully out on hold, so the stairmaster it is.
I woke up this morning to find the scale lingering on 131-132~the best part is that I got my period this morning! Even to go with the higher, losing 8 lbs in one week is a big difference and I can't say that I have been watching my kcals because I KNOW most days I have gone ridiculously over. My appetite is insatiable! Which brings me to have a lot of confidence in the theory behind minimizing carbs. I have kept them below 20 (including net) for the last 8 days. I really should be incorporating more veggies. Perhaps one more week of this.

Do I believe in Karma? yes. Do I believe in coincidence? Yes. I am freaking my self out latley! YES. THe universe is playing weird tricks on me interms of my personal relationship. I am involoved with of course, the best man in my world- in the world. It took me a while to realize it but now I love the fact that he adores me the way he does. We live in different cities about 3 hours from each other. We see each other every weekend and usually once in the week but its becoming harder and harder. Our situations are complicated. WE are working towards moving to the same city but this compromise business is a lot harder than I ever imagines. AND LIberating at the same time. Neither one of us have been married nor do either have any children and I cannot describe a more beautiful feeling than the one of giving yourself to someone and finding yourself at the same time. I just LOVE him. My anxiety lies in all these decisions- I have to go to school, he has established a career, bought a house. What is the right decision??????
Whatever! Then last night I really went over the edge with some almonds I majorly splurged on, can you say guilt?I couldnt weven look at the scale. FOr fear that one disappointing glare down at the numbers would either send me off into more of an obssessive need or pity party binge. No thanks- avoid avoid avoid!

I am headed off in his direction this weekend so we will talk about it more when I see him. Im not nervous at all, just anxious.

Sad to say there was no gym this morning and its going to take a lot of will power to get me there tonight. I picked up some LC friendly recipes for Pumpkin Squares with Walnut cream cheese icing. yummy yumy yum. At least Im preparing myself ecause I know that there is going to be a lot of treats at this party.
Stayed on plan all day. It was hard because of yesterday's devilish actions. I had an Atkins advantage bar PLUS some SF choclate mints PLUS some regular candy..I dont even LIKE candy! WTH?
Breakfast
-coffee w/cream(probably too much)
-2 fried eggs in butter

Lunch
-Mock Almond Danish (SF ALmond, cream cheese, 2 eggs)
-Pork Rinds (A LOT of these too...)

Dinner
Bacon and eggs (butter)

*Girlfriend from Winnipeg is coming in so I will definately have a glass of wine with her...or two.

I have no groceries right now because I am going away for the weekend!!!
45 minutes of work left, going to the gym right after. Feeling the urge. Wont get to go for the next 3 days unless I go early in the morning before I leave for Cowtown.

Hope you have a lovely week-end. Finding someone to love is truly a gift from God. Don't sweat the small stuff...and it is all small stuff EXCEPT your relationship. It is too rare...too precious.

Cuya- He always says that too..."don't sweat the small stuff"...hmmm, are you sure you are not a 35 year old male?

Last weekend went off fabulously. I took my BF out to the zoo before we headed back to his surprise party. He was thrilled and we all had a great time. I got the third degree from his 8 year old niece. She's the sweetest thing but feared that I, being the new and only girlfriend he's introduced to the family, would take her Uncle away. Endearing it was but we eventually had the "talk". I was clean throughout the entire party until the last 1/2 hour
and then I snuck a few choclate treats in there. I even baked some pumpkin squares with a walnut maple creamcheese icing. It was awesome but next time I think I'll go for something chocolately- Actually it will be this weekend when I make my bf's b-day cake.

Ive hit the gym pretty hard this week, doing extra cardio sessions -I have a lot more energy lately and stress to burn off.
More weights- I'm getting my groove back- thank god. The fittest Ive been was when I was doing weights. and My abs are unbelieveable after just 2 weeks. Lifting has its myths and beiong a trainer I should have known better than to perpetuate them. I love lifting, always have so why did I think I would feel better just doing cardio. That mindset is dangerous territory and easily inescapable!
I made a spinach lasagne and I am starting to get a headache- 20 minutes after lunch- Guess I know thats out for tomorrow unless I take only half the noodles.

Well- Was I spoiled over the weekend? YES!! Full day Spa and Fondue dinner was phenomenal! He is so good to me.
Hmmm....I ate chocolate ice cream and shredded hash browns. Its not like Im not responsible with my LC eating but somehow my brain tricks me into saying you can have just a little bit nad then quit. The problem is that while i was sustaining a high fat intake last week the "moderate" chocolate ice cream (which I didnt want to begin with) and starchy carbs is a bad combination. I had a doc appt last week and my blood pressure is up. Now I'm not getting crazy, I just want to make a note that it is up and perhaps it was caused but a thousand different things but I need to choose a WOL and stick with it. I have been "dieting" although for lengthy periods of time I have really adopted the "lifestyle" bit.
I shouldnt be made to feel guilty because I believe in Low Carb.

What I meant to say is that the high carb choices Ive been making in combination with the high fat WOE at the moment is a bad mix. I just can't seem to find an appropriate balance.
Im keeping a journal with me lately and recording my gym and food choices. I'm incorporating more weights and see noticeable changes, as in definition.
Had early morning workout and wasnt that hungry until lunch

1/3 cup celery

2 tbsp garlic mayo

1 tbsp cream cheese

You know, there is something to say about keeping my carbs to a bare minimum and then ujpping my fats...I love the weightloss and the energy and the way my skin feeels in my clothes but I DETEST thefeeling in my mouth-its strange to explain.
My workouts are becoming more fabulous and the inchews are melting away. That is, when I don't over indulge in legal foods. I have to admit I have been very diligent lately and my commitment is strong but when I find something "legal" I go bonkers for example.....
I made choclate sauce from PB Davinci syrup/butter/cocoa/salt and poured it over pecans and whipped cream with splenda the other day. Yup so I did it the next night and the next night so the next thing I did was throw out my stash of nuts. Good grief.Plus Im having major breakouts on my face. I am trying a new face cream so that could be it but I doubt it. I have never had acne and now all of a sudden? Boooooooooooooo
