Victoria's Journey

Hello Everyone, My name is Victoria and I will forewarn you I am very new to message boards and will do my best to follow posting etiquette .

I think a journal is where you introduce yourself so here goes....

As I said, my name is Victoria. I am 40 and separated (about a year now). No children. I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

My best friend is my inspiration. I believe the support she received through forums like this and people like you attributed to her successful weightloss journey.

I have done low carb in the past and have had success (never reaching goal though...but maybe that's because I never set any (hehe)

I've never done the induction phase of low carb simply because I didn't think I could. I have committed to myself to try and lose 35 pounds by Christmas. I hope this is a reachable and reasonable goal. I think with strict eating and exercise (I've never had a problem staying motivated to exercise ) I have a good shot at reaching this goal.

I saw a challenge that started at the beginning of the month for strict meat and eggs. I know it's mid-month but I think I'll see if I can hop in for the rest of the ride.

I know if I can stay strict for a week I can work towards making this my WOE.

Thanks in advance for all of your support and advice, both with my WOE AND my postings

B: 2 scrambled eggs, 3 bacon, coffee (black)
L: 5 slices of london broil I grilled yesterday, diet pepsi
D: Roasted boneless skinless chickent tenders, water

So far so good

Day 2

Good Morning!!!

Weight: Will add later when I get to the office
B: Coffee Custard, coffee
L: Chicken salad (Leftover roasted chicken cut up w/mayo, cayan, salt & pepper), hard-boiled egg
D: Baked Talipia
Water, water, and MORE water!!!!

Movin': 45 minutes on the treadmill w/ifit.com

Day one wasn't so bad. Last night I was craving a granola bar but I wasn't the slightest bit hungry. I had a long talk (not out loud) with myself battling over whether to have one bar.

I drank a ton of water yesterday but probably should have stopped earlier because I had to get up 5 times to pee Other than that no bathroom problems yet.

Got to work and got on the scale. Didn't lose anything but not losing hope. It was the first day and I'm determined to make this work.

I found your thread Victoria,
What plan are you doing? That realy helps to know. Are you planning M&E for a long haul, if you can thats great I can't I need my veggies or I binge badly. Make sure you are taking a good vitamin. Like I said put the scale away for a bit. Did you do the welcome post from Mel78's siggy .????
If you look at todays page she is first , she is our unoffical leader, she is out of town until thursday we ar all till she gets back.
But seriuously fill out the intro deal from her link so you get recored into the members stuff. Mel tracks everyones numbers and is just great!
Post often it will keep you focused and always look for the new thread. You are more than welcome to post in my journal and everyone else ( we all pop in on each other).

Good evening all..

well today was a rainy day.. but we did sell one car..lol..

played pop it most of the day..lol.. I did call people who are more then 10 days behind on their payments.. .. I don't like the calling..lol. I get all tongue tied.. .. I feel like a bill collector.. and no one likes those people..lol..

any who.. today's menu..

B.. none.. well 1 cup coffee.. tsp of splenda.. tsp of sf hazelnut..

L.. salad.. with crab meat.. 1 small and I mean small.. ( last on the vines..lol).. tomato... a little cheese.. and a little onions..ranch

D.. 2 cheese burgers on the rev. rolls..

also had the last of my Jazz.. .. lol..

OK I am off here..

Day 3

Happy Tuesday!!!!

I'm late posting today. I had to take my DB's (since he is out of town) son to school before I came to work

It's supposed to rain all day here today. Days like this I would rather be home with a good book, my laptop, and YOU GUYS!!!!

Today looks like this for me:

B: Nothing but coffee (fortunately I like mine black)
L: Left over grilled tilapia (mmmm, but it sure was HOT!)
D: Don't know yet, maybe a grilled burger

I'm hoping for a quiet day at work. Hopefully no troubles but how can you have rain and NO phone troubles (rain and copper phone lines don't relate, hehe). I manage a repair call center for a telephone company.

Better get back to it... CBL

P.S. I am down 2 lbs today.....170 Wahoooooooo

hey Victoria!
Glad to see you have a journal. It really does help. Sometimes if you read back over the weeks or days, you can really see trends in your eating patterns that can be attributed to stress, or activity, or people. So helpful in evaluating your plan.

I am glad you joined our challenge! We always love having new folks join us. When this challenge ends, we just start a new one. I think 35 pounds by Christmas is very reasonable! Good luck and I look forward to learning more about you!

I drink my coffee black as well. Unless its the flavored stuff then I like a little splenda or else its bitter to me. I drink way too much coffee, I do drink water with it to balance it out.

can you send someone over to fix my lines? I have called and called my people.. they came out yesterday.. gave me a whole new box.. because mine was old.. we live in an older home..lol. anywho.. they said it would be fixed before 7 last night.. well I still have the same problems.. which is.. when the phone rings.. all I get is a half ring.. sounds kinda like a chirp... then nothing.. people who call says it half rings then a little static.. then.. "if you'd like to make a call".. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.. been this way for about 2 weeks now.. I have tried the whole unplug your phones.. wait 5 minutes.. plug them in one at a time thing.. nothing helps.. I called back last night.. waited for 45 minutes.. no one got my call.. ,, whats a girl to do..lol.. I think I should get 2 weeks off my phone bill.. ..ok enough.. sorry to dump that on ya.. ..
but if you have any ideas.. do share.. .. I can all out all day long.. and be on line.. but no ring in.. waaaaa

Hey thanks girlie

Wow.......it's obvious they walked you through troubleshooting your own equipment the unplugging script sounds almost word for word to what we do.

Try this...call them back and tell them that it sounds like your cable pair is ringing up a short and that you want them to test it, based on the test I would request them to change the cable pair Hope this helps

Day 4

Good Morning....I just got to work and weighed, down 1 lb, hoooray!!

Today looks like this for me:
B: Coffee
L: Hopefully the leftover hamburger patty I brought. I have a conference to go to today and they are having a buffet (ugh). I will try to stay strong or at the very least see if there is something legal to munch on.
D: I'll be thinking on this one.

My DB has been away on business and I got some great news this morning.....He's coming home today (a day early) I'm doing the happy dance!!! He says it's because he misses me

I hope everyone has a great day today. I'll be checking on ya later.

I'm home from work. The conference went well and best of all I stayed on plan. The buffet had roasted turkey and meatballs (plain) I had some of each. It had so much other stuff fruit, veggies, ham biscuits, etc but resisted and really glad I did. It was tough at the time but I felt great afterwards

I got another headache this morning....and a tinge of one now, it will pass though. I think I'm going to take a quick cat nap.

The best part of today?...........DB is expected in around 9pm. I'm really looking forward to seeing him and cuddling with him.

Still don't know what to do for dinner. Maybe chicken

I was worried for a sec or two .. when you put DB will be home at 9:00.. and your gonna cuddle.. I was like.. WHAT .. thing dear brother.. .. but slowly figured it out.. dear boyfriend..lolo.. ok I'm little slow tonight..

glad he is gonna be home for you.. .. nothing better then a good cuddle.. .. enjoy it while you can.. when you get married.. and the honey moon is over , that good stuff stopped..lol.. well it did for me anyway..
I do know couples who still are all lovey dovey.. my dh needs to take lessons..
speaking of head aches.. I am getting one in the back of my head.. .. there.. just took an Aleve.. love those things..

I think you are right about the headache. A friend that lost her weight this way told me it would be happening and that it passes. I hope it passes sooner that it happens long. I've definetly cut back the caffeine and increased the water. Thanks for the welcome. It's beginning to feel like home away from home

I'm late posting today. I got pushed into my morning instead of easing in to it

Last night was a nice quiet night spent with my "DBF". I'm so glad he's home.

I have a busy day at work today so I'll jot down what my day looks like and come back later
