124.3

Kissa- good quote!!

Koreanbeauty- thanks for dropping by!! Way to go with the 15 pound loss!! Glad you found me!

Last night DH and I watched Desperate Housewives and ate dinner. I was pretty exhausted by ten!! I just finished my workout and weighed myself! Still 1.3 over lowest weight but by next week I hope to be at least at 123 or lower. The weight is just getting slower to come off and I think I will stick to induction levels for a little while longer.

Thank goodness it is Friday!! I'm going to probably visit my mom for lunch and then stay at work until 5- I have a huge presentation due in less than 2 weeks and I really need to start working on it. Tomorrow I will be studying all day until I finish my paper- then I can finally relax on Sunday. Better go get ready for work!! It's Starbuck Fridays!!

Ugh- boss is back today- but I think he's leaving tomorrow!!

I'm at work enjoying my grande coffee of the week with soy milk, cinammon and sweetener.. I missed you Starbucks..

Hopefully the day will fly by... I'm trying to decide whether I should go at lunch time to visit my mom- I think it would break up the work day more then to go in the evening.

The DH and I might be going back to Venice for Carnival!
We have been the last 2 years but I didn't think we would go this year. We take the train overnight Friday stay in Venice for the day and then take the train back Saturday night and arrive home Sunday morning. This year Carnival is in the middle of February so it will be nippy. I love Venice though- it is so romantic with all of the gondolas and to see all the people in their amazing costumes! Every year we buy Venetian masks to hang on the wall. We have 4 now. I bouhgt a baroque wig last year there- I think I will wear it again! When you first arrive you don't feel like dressing up but by the end of the day you really want to be in costume!

Back from the hospital- my mom seems to be doing well. She wants to leave the hospital on Sunday and move into the hotel- but we'll see what the doctor says. She's little restless

Sounds like your mom is a fiesty one. Nothing keeps her down for long, eh? That's great and I'm glad you got to go spend your lunch with her. I'm sure you were a sight for sore eyes.

Dinner with Daddy sounds fun!!

Carnival in Venice sounds like a lot of fun!!! I wanna come with! I'm going to tell my friend about it, she just moved to Naples last June. I think she would like it too.

Get your paper finished this weekend, young lady!!!

I like to watch skiing too. And ice skating and even curling! We are glued to our tv when the Winter Olympics comes around. We TiVo like crazy so we don't miss our favorite events and use up all of our TiVo space. Wish it was for two weeks every year instead of every four years. Sometimes we can catch finals on ESPN from time to time.

I need to get back to my errands. Have a great weekend!

Hi SweetE! You are welcome to come with us to Venice!! Naples is apparently beautiful- a coworker of mine said that on New Years they throw their old furniture out of the window- somebody died last year when someone threw out a washing machine!! I will finish my paper! Thank you for the encouragement! I love the olympics too! I used to be a figure skater and we moved to Vienna when I was 12- I had just gotten to my double axel. After a year of skating in Austria (it was sooo expensive) my parents said "Do you want to give up a social life, friends, free time and perhaps not make it to the olympics, or do you want to quit skating?" I chose to give it up- afterwards I refused to watch any figure skating but now I am back to watching it. I'm teaching the DH He grew up in Africa!

Well done to you and your Mum.

Venice is another favourite city of mine, never made it to the Carnival though we did see the Regatta Historica, we have a lovely painting of it to remind us.

I never did reply about when we went to Austria. I think it was in 1995 or 6.

We had 2 weeks there driving around, with 4 days in Vienna at the beginning and another 2 at the end. We were there at the end of the summer just a the passes were getting their first snow falls, magnificent.

We stayed in a lovely hotel in the centre of Vienna called the Koenig von Ungart (spelling?).

We also had a few days back in Salzburg in 2005 on our way to Muncih for the Oktoberfest.

Good luck with the studying, get it done this weekend and you will feel such a sense of satisfaction.

123.6

Kissa- the könig von ungarn is a lovely hotel!! Lucky you!! I am sitting at my desk with my books in front of me and I am getting ready to study.. Just hard to get motivated! But here I go!

I weighed myself this morning - I was feeling skinny and the scale said 123.6!! Yippee I am getting closer. Next Friday I definitely will be 123 if not 122!! I've been stuck in the 20's forever and it is time to get this booty moving- at least I am back to exercising. Right now our bunny is licking my feet. She loves to lick my feet when I'm not paying attention to her!

I don't have to visit my mom in the hospital today- she would rather that next weekend- when my dad's not here- that I take of her. Need to get to working!! Ughghgh!!

Well, the DH went to train station to find tickets to Venice and they are sold out Another option is to take the bus there- but it is kind of a pain cause the bus stop is on the other side of Venice and you have to take a water taxi there... Oh well, we'll do something else. I'm so spoiled really I get to see so many wonderful things and I wouldn't trade it for the world!! Next weekend I think the DH and I are going to look for new wedding rings. I'm thinking white gold for us. I want to have our wedding date engraved on it - January 24th, 2004. And maybe nicknames inside- he called me beluga once. I promptly punched him out. Sometimes I call him moleman because when he wakes up and looks out the window he looks like a mole Great names huh?

OK SweetE and Kissa- I'm getting back to studying!!! I promise!!!

Well, it was a nice and quiet day.. We took a walk to the centre and watched skiing all day- we're having MacDonalds for dinner again But at least I am not eating Chinese which has tons of carbs hidden in it. It's Columbo night so I'm excited! Time to get ready!!

SweetE- have a great holiday! Which movie are you going to see? The Dh and I are probably going to see Casino Royale this Friday- it's still playing!

Well, I didn't make it thru the whole Columbo- It ended at 10:05 and I was out cold by 9:50! It was the one with William Shatner! I am proud to be Canadian! Yesterday the DH and I planned my birthday. On Feb 10th- a Saturday- we will take the train to a town in Hungary- the whole town is filled with Hair dressers, manicurists, massage places etc. While the DH goes for a beer I am going to get everything done! Then on Sunday (my b-day) we are going to go to a spa place for 3 nights- we saw an ad in a newspaper yesterday and it is super cheap! The place is really basic but has a pool and whirlpool etc. Also it has Europe's longest indoor slide- the DH practically jumped in the car to go there immediately when he saw that- he is obsessed with slides- I swear I married a ten year old!

It will be really nice to take a mini break and I can't wait- he's calling the agency today!!

After work I am going to go visit my mom- she is leaving the hospital and going to an apartment/hotel in the center. I will get there around 6:30- stay and hour or so and then head home to make dinner..

My food plan for today:
Coffee with soy milk
Baby Bels
More coffee
Marinated minute steak topped with a gorgonzola cream sauce and a side salad...

I LOVE ATKINS!! I LOVE IT!

Today I am going to finish my paper! No ifs ands or buts!!

No one is in the office yet!! The boss is gone so I guess people are taking it easy. Great for me! I love the peace and quiet and I really need to STOP GOING ON THE INTERNET!!!

I am so excited- I am going to Toronto at the end of May with a friend. We have to book our tickets soon. I cannot wait!! I miss Canada so much- the people are so friendly!! I will be in Toronto for 5 days and then I am heading to Ottawa to see my sister and my little niece!! It will be strange being back- I haven't been there since June!! I miss Tim Hortons and I miss malls and I miss downtown Toronto and the jazz club The Rex and I miss China Town and Dim Sum and I miss Baldwin street and Kensington market and I miss the Beaches and I miss air conditioning and I miss being able to buy aspirin without having to ask for it and I miss fridges that hold more than a dozen eggs and I miss ice cubes- I swear- to get ice cubes in a drink is almost impossible!!

Anyway, I am just so excited to go there- I am going to miss DH- I know that he loves Canada too so it will be tough for him but I will buy him tons of presents!!

OK- enough writing- back to studying!!

Just had some babybels and some peanuts (honey coated!! ) but I've banished the peanuts and will drink more water!! Bad- I saw them in the store and I was hungry!!

OK- I entered them into fit day which gave me a carb count of about 10- so for the rest of the day I am going to be very very very careful. I know that dinner tonight will be very low in carbs so oh well!

Tomorrow night a friend is coming over for dinner- I am going to make baked burritos for dinner- I don't use the wrap but make egg tortillas instead. Better get back to studying!!

OK-What's my motivation to finish this paper? What will be the short term and long term benefits?

Short term:

I will be able to relax for a few days until I have to stat the next one
I will feel better about myself
This knot in my shoulder will magically disappear and the stress related headaches will temporarily vanis

Long term:

I will be able to receive my HND
I will be more motivated to finish my final paper and to ace my exams

Come on, you can do it- it's not that hard- you have the resources and some time now!

2:15-6:00- study
7:15-8:30- study while making dinner
Dinner, TV, do eyebrows clean up apartment
10:15-11:15 study and then go to bed

Let's focus for the next 1 hour and not get distracted and check back here and see how much has been completed. Right now 2,115 words.

Good plan Leeney! This will be my last post until 2 p.m. tomorrow- that is when I am sending my paper.

I am at about 2,600 words- 400 to go. Before I leave in 2 hours I am going to write 200 more words, do the bibliography tonight and cover page.

Tomorrow as soon as I get to work I am going to write the last part, format it and send it off with a kiss! Here I go!!

Thanks Kissa- it's a huge weight off my chest. I now feel a lot more motivate to start the next paper and get it done with as soon as possible so I don't go through with this torture again..

I know why I was so unmotivated:
-Christmas holidays
- My mom's operation
- Stress at my job

Well, the top 2 are out of the way so I am back on track!

My mom is doing really well- I went to see her and she was sitting up for a bit- and she took a walk earlier. When she was sitting she said it was the first time in 20 years she felt no pain I am so happy for her- I think this will change her life but now she will have to find something else to complain about Just joking!

I'm really looking forward to having my dinner guest over tonight. We work in the same place but we don't really talk much. She hasn't been too happy here and I want to cheer her up - she's from Ireland and I think she misses home. I hope she doesn't leave!! It is very difficult to meet people in this town- the people I've gotten to know is through work and pretty much none of them are Austrian

There is a large expat community so there are possibilities to meet people but I guess I'm kinda lazy. We have a great group of casual acquaintances and I have a couple of close friends but still... I think the DH and I are looking for the perfect couple friends!

In Toronto we had some- he was Spanish and she was from Texas- they were our witnesses at our wedding- the 4 of us got along great and I totally miss that- they are living in China right now- crazy!!
