I'm in a bummed out mood- I did some voice over work for an investor DVD and I just found out someone else might be doing it!! I was going to put that on my resume!!! Anyway, last night I baked a whole batch of cookies for the office- My last day of work is on Friday so I want to give cookies to the staff. Next Tuesday I am off to Zagreb for a week to see my folks- all I want to do is watch Christmas films and sleep all day- the poor DH will be on his own- I have to show him how to iron, use the dishwasher and find the windex!!

Hey, I hope you end up getting the voice over work. That sounds like fun. Are you an actor? Have you heard of Winterthur Insurance? My son did a commercial and print work for them when he was younger.
Wow, you have a lot to teach your dh in a short time! You better write it down, just in case! You'll be glad to know I'm teaching my ds's that stuff now, so their wives won't have to. LOL!
How exciting for you to get to go visit your parents. Too bad your dh can't join you. Will you be doing more shopping with your mom?

Hi SweetE! Nope, not an actor- the office that I work in is making an investor DVD and they asked me to do it.. It was fun while it lasted. I've heard of Winterthur- they are in Vienna too. That's amazing that he did a commercial for them! I don't think I'll be doing too much shopping with my mom- I just want to sleep!!
Today is my friend/coworker's birthday. I made a 3 tier brownie, twix, and cookie cake with chocolate and smartie topping- pure torture not tasting the batter! I took a small lick so I'm not bummed out. Boss is still here but he is leaving tomorrow morning!! So I won't see him until the New Year!!

I drank too much wine last night!! Bridget Jones was on TV and I popped open a bottle of red- the DH told me I was in a great mood last night I was also happy cause the boss is gone and I won't see him until next year!!

I back up to 125 but I'm not too concerned- It's Christmas time and it is lowest I've been in years so yippee!! Ouch- I need some aspirin!

So tired... But I'm taking the rest of the day off so I can't wait to go! I should study but instead I am going to rent a Christmas movie and curl up on the sofa and watch it. I have a friend coming over for dinner so I should clean up a little bit.

The DH and I decided last night that for our 3 year wedding anniversary we are going to get real wedding rings- we eloped so our rings are silver and don't match- last minute purchase. I am so excited!!

I have only lost one pound this month and it is getting very frustrating. I wanted to be down about five so far. I'm going to keep working at it, I know it's better than gaining. Especially when I have soooo far to go yet.
Well, my day is going to consist of shopping. I need to pick up a couple more gifts for one of my ds's and I need to make a couple of exchanges. I'm going to go early to try and beat the mad rush. It's my goal to be finished by this Saturday.

I will definitely post a pic of the rings when we get them- our anniversary is at the end of January. I was so tired this morning- I couldn't get out of bed- I only had a glass of wine last night but my friend stayed until 12. The meal was a success:

roasted garlic cream soup with parmesan chips
sweet onion pie- next time I will make mini pies
marinated beef with gorgonzola sauce and a side salad
strawberry cheesecake

I was so full afterwards! Tonight my in-laws are coming for dinner- I'm going to serving the same thing!

My last day of work!! Yipppeeee!! I'm leaving at 2 today- I'm teaching a class at 4:30 until 6:00 and then the in-laws are coming. Our apartment looks so Christmassy and Cozy and tonight they are showing Christmas Vacation on TV so the DH is taping it for me- it's my favourite Christmas movie- my dad and I try to watch it every holiday- that and Young Frankenstein!

This weekend will be hectic- have to buy the DH a toy plane- he's a big kid and buy some presents for the inlaws and I have to study. So busy!!!

Wow, some weekend away. I have a lovely husband who treats me to special places too. We just had our silver wedding anniversay and we went to South Africa for 3 incredible weeks.

We are lucky. Have a great time with your folks.

Oh, Vienna, I love the pictures!!! The castle is awesome! And you look so good!!!! Are you sure you're not at goal already?? Now I want to take a trip too!
You and Kissa are lucky! My dh is not the romantic type. He will do romantic things, but I have to do all of the planning. Oh well, that's who he is and for the most part I've gotten use to it, so I don't mind.
I'm glad you'll have internet while your at your parents. So you can keep me up to date on you.

Kissa- South Africa must have been amazing! My DH grew up in Kenya (he's Austrian though) and when I see the pictures I imagine I'm Meryl Streep .. Congratulations on your Sliver WEdding Anniversary!!

SweetE- thanks for the compliment Still not at goal yet! My Dh usually isn'T romantic but lately he has been- maybe he's hiding something!

Last night we went to the Christmas market to buy ornaments- next year the DH is putting me on a budget! Today we are going to see The Holiday and then I am dropping some gifts off at my friend's place- here is another pic from the castle- the DH and I at dinner- the picture isn't great- I don't know what's on my chest and my lip looks a little funny. Oh well!

I had to pee soooo badly about half way thru the film so I didn't really didn't enjoy it that much But in general I wasn't too impressed by it. There were some cute moments but I just didn't get into it. Maybe I wasn't in the mood to see it.. The Pursuit of Happyness looks great- That will be a rental because I know I will be sobbing- I get choked up just thinking about the Lion King and when Simba's dad died,, I love Will Smith- I have had the biggest crush on him for years!!

Haven't started packing yet I met a friend for coffee today and it was wierd. The last few months she's gotten a little strange- really into holistic stuff that is costing her way too much mones I do believe that alternative medicine can help but the Dr she's seeing sounds like a quack!

Finally finished all my shopping!!! Here's the list- oy- thank God the DH doesn't know what I've spent!!

Mother- book by Amy Sedaris, silver plated engraved bridge set
Father- Darwin Awards book, DVD of Allo Allo (British comedy)
Brother- shot glasses (he just started university), little black book (for the ladies ) and a book about being a gentlemen
Sister- (I sent it by post cause she's living in Canada) shawl, hairband, bracelet, and short sleeve cashmerelike sweater
BIL- 2 shot glasses and Austrian liquer (see a trend?)
Niece- 9 months old- pink sleeper with a tutu
MIL- same gift as my mom
FIL- Book on travelling and book on meditation
SIL- Crystal earring and gift certificate for clothes
DH- documentary DVD, polo shirt, DVD of season 1 of Tropical Heat (he loves it ), 2 Canadian beers that I finally found at a gourmet shop, model airplane of a 747 which he will probably never biuld but when we were in Toys R Us the other day he looked at it longingly, and a CD of punk music (he used to listen to it years ago and he can only listen to it if I'm not arround )

Whew- I'm done!! I told my DH that this year it is about quantity- for me at least!!

I'm not sure how much or if I will be on the boards at all after Saturday. We are leaving and will be gone for over a week, but I am taking the laptop and may find time to jump on here and there, I'm just not sure!

Just planning my new Year's resolutions- even though I usually break them-

- as of Jan. 1 go back on induction for 2 weeks
- keep apartment clean as much as possible
- finish paper and start next one ASAP
- Get to 120 as of Jan. 5
- Pass final exams
- Continue to look for a new job

Last night was fun! I went to the casino with the DH and friends and we got all dressed up. I did my hair in a 60's style and put on fake eyelashes and wore a 60's style dress- It was so much fun to be dressed up!! I loved it. After the casino we went to our friends' place and had dinner then we went to a hill and set off fireworks. I was in bed by 2!

I am looking forward to this new year- I can't wait to get back on track with Atkins- I haven't been cheating but I haven't been great.. There is a lot to be grateful for and I want to look at the more positive side of life! Better go fill out fitday- that is one of my resolutions!!
