Hello Vienna,
A fireplace dvd, that is cool!!! I've never heard of that before, but I think it is a great idea. Have nice night with your hubby. Your dinner sounds very good!

Hi SweetE! The DVD thing is great. The DH was so suprised. He sat in front of it with a glass of wine for a while last night and looked so content. Men and fire! The dinner turned out great- it tasted just like real lasagna! I brought for lunch- I made a huge one so I am going to freeze the rest and bring it for lunch.

Tonight I am making a steak sandwich with hollandaise sauce and a side salad. The bread is for the DH. I am currently planning a Thanksgiving party for 20 people next Saturday- I don't know how they are going to fit in our tiny apartment- the most we've had are 15 people and that was tight!

I did my workout this morning and I feel good. The scale showed a little higher but I felt thinner so I am going to stick with the feeling and weigh myself in a couple of days!

Better get back to work!

Last night we had a great dinner. I made steak - sliced it small and topped it with hollandaise sauce a fried eggs. I put the DH's steak on garlic bread and served it all with a small salad. IT was yummy. Better get ready for work. I didn't work out this morning- too tired.. But a one day break is fine. Working out 4-5 times a week is enough- I just want to incorporate yoga again. Better get ready for work!

Hey,
Your dinner sounded so good.
That is a very large crowd you are having for Thanksgiving. Will you have help preparing your Thanksgiving dinner? Did you see the recipe for crustless pumpkin pie? It sounds so good. What do Europeans eat for Thanksgiving dinner? I just wonder how much it is the same or different from Americans.
I've never tried yoga, do you enjoy it? Have a nice day at work.

Hi SweetE. Thanks for dropping by! I'm actually Canadian and my husband is Austrian. Europeans don't celebrate Thanksgiving but they have harvest festivals which are somewhat similar. I made a low carb pumpkin pie the other day with fresh pumpkin and it was great even without the crust! I'll be making the dinner all by myself but the DH will help out! As long as I prepare in advance I should be OK. Instead of turkey I am making chicken- our oven is too small . I am going to make a huge batch of stuffing, sweet potato pie, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, peas and carrots. Not low carb but I can eat the chicken and the pumpkin pie!

I understand why you have to have chicken. I lived in England and Germany for a few years and it was so hard baking in those little stoves. None of my cookie sheets would fit, I had to go buy new pans.
I'm glad your dh will help you, that is a lot of people to cook for. Days of preparation for a few minutes of eating.
Have you met Wannabethintoo yet? She is a crazy Canadian lady, that is just adorable. You should pop in and say hello to her.
By this time you are enjoying your Friday afternoon. Lucky you. Have a great weekend too!

Hi SweetE!! England and Germany- you're a European pro!! The fridges are tiny here too.. Thank God we have a balcony to keep the food cool for big parties! I will definitely drop by your journal soon! It has been a little hectic.

Eating wise I have been on plan but I think I am being too lenient with myself so I am back on track today. Today is 5 years together for the DH and I and he forgot but hopefully is at the shops now buying me something! Better get back to work!

Happy Anniversary, Vienna!! I hope he was out getting you something to make up for forgetting! Men!!
Yes, the fridges in Europe are small. I thought they were so cute, until I couldn't fit everything I wanted in them.
Did you start cooking for Thanksgiving yet? I will start making my low carb cheesecake and pumpkin pie on Wednesday.

Thanks SweetE!

The night was great! He gave me a watch that I have wanted for a long time. It has crystals on the band- I love it. I found while I was cleaning our closet and I "accidently" found it! I am too nosy! Haven'T started yet with the cooking- the party is on Saturday so I have a little time!

Back to the grind this week, eh? Me too. I'm a little thankful for my routine to be back. My house is a wreck from the long weekend, so I have lots to do to keep me busy today.
Best to you!

Hi Erin! Thanks for dropping by again. It was so hectic on Saturday- turned out to be about 15 people. I cannot believe how much food I made.. I think I am going to hold off from throwing parties for a while. The husband helped me clean up- I don't actually remember cleaning

My parents are visiting this week- they live in Croatia- my dad's a Canadian diplomat there so it is great that they live close by. Also my mom's a shopaholic so I get tons of gifts!!

Thanks SweetE! That was sweet of you!
My parents are still in the center shopping with friends so I escaped home to have some down time. I am quite tired. Tonight we are going out for a nice dinner so that should be nice. My mom bought me a whole table setting for 6- I am so excited to put it out. She also brought me an old coffee/tea set from her father! It looks way too fancy for me.

I will write more later when I get a chance!

Congrats on the new low!!!! That is super exciting!!! You can get to your new goals if you stay dedicated!!! I'm rooting for you!!!
I have a long way to go to get to a new low, since I let myself gain back so much over the summer. O'well I'm back on track now and am making progress!
What are your Christmas plans? Do you have any parties to go to? You might a new slinky dress to show off your new bod!!! I'm sure your hubby would agree!!!
Hope your Sunday is going well!

Hi SweetE! A slinky dress would be fun but I don't think I would trust myself yet No Christmas parties this year- the company I work for has about 6 people so I don't think we'll be having one and the people I know here aren't big on having parties. I was thinking of having one at our place but after the Thanksgiving party I think I will take alittle break
The DH is surprising me this weekend with a trip somewhere 2 hours outside of the city. I am so excited- I have no idea where we are going and I love it!! Better get dressed for work.... Really tired- I went to a friend's house last night for dinner and I drank a little too much wine... Talk to you soon!!

Did your parents make it off okay? I'm glad they were able to come to see you!
I'm so darn tired this morning!! I need to go do my exercises so my body will wake up! My dh is off today, so maybe we'll finish up the kids Christmas shopping.
Hope you're having a great day, Vienna!

I'm sorry you have a cold sore. They are nasty little boogers. More annoying than anything. Do you have anything to put on it to help it heal more quickly?
I always spend too much money too. I set a budget and then try not to go over it too much! I do love giving gifts!!!
How is your WOE going? All things good?
I'm on track and looking forward to dropping a few more pounds this month. I want to lose eight, but five would be great!

Way to go SweetE with staying on track.. My eating has been good but I didn't exercise for the past week, but this morning I finally did. I feel sooo much better. I've been on Atkins for about 5 months and I can't believe how easy it has become for me to make the right choices.. this time something has clicked. I am planning a fun day sometime at the end of December- one day to eat what I want. I has a pizza a couple of weeks ago for a special occasion and that is the only time in the five months that I have had bread. Tomorrow I will weigh myself but I don't think I will be lower- maybe even a little higher but it happens so I won't beat myself up about it!! Talk to you soon!!

If you've been on for five months and only had bread once, you are doing awesome!!! Good for you!!!
I think something clicked for me too. Hopefully it wasn't just the fact that I was literally out growing all of my clothes. My goal is to go one year without getting off at all. I have a lot to lose, so I'll be very luck to have lost half of my weight by then. But I won't know until I try! Glad you are back exercising and feeling good!!
Have a great weekend, Girlie!

Hi SweetE! Great that is has clicked!! I had done Atkins before but after just a couple of months I went off track. I've realised now that if I have too many carbs not to completely go off track but get right back into it.

The weekend was amazing! The DH surprised me with a weekend away. I had no idea where we were going and then suddenly we showed up at a CASTLE!! It was so romantic! The castle was built in the 1400's and had been modernized so that it could be a hotel! On Saturday he surprised me with a massage at the health club and then we had a 3 course meal! It was nuts! Romance has finally clicked with him!
