Trees can really do a lot of damage to homes and cars! I'm really glad to hear your fine, Kissa. Where in England do you live? I lived in Ipswich for a year.

Morning all! Well the storm wasn't bad at all here. At around midnight the wind really picked up but this morning there doesn't seem to be any damage- outside of the city trees fell but nothing too crazy... Staying home today- working though I'm glad its Friday!!

I got on the scale and it said 123.4... AAArrgggh- so frustrating!! I'm sure the wine messed it up a bit so I will wait a couple of days and check again. Had some chicken broth with egg this morning which was yummy- but now I am too full!!

Have a great day everyone!!

I know what you mean, it was rainy and cold here all day yesterday. It was on the verge of freezing, but luckily it didn't.
I love fried eggs too!
I vote for watching TV in bed?
I was wondering, are you fluent in Austrian? Is that what it's called, Austrian? It just doesn't sound right to me.

Hi SweetE- they speak German here but it has a different dialect. Every region here has a different dialect which makes it challenging for non-Austrians to understang. I understand German fluently but my speaking isn't great- the DH and I speak only in English...

Well, it is Sunday and I am about to visit my mom. I didn't eat great yesterday! I had sugar free chocolate and a some rice crackers I let myself get hungry and didn't plan so its my own fault. Today I am going to be a lot better. The DH and I went looking for wedding rings- 1,000 US dollars for one! It was just plain white gold That ring better make me coffee in the morning and wash the windows for that price. We decided to wait a while until buying them. We're thinking of going to Istanbul- it's a lot cheaper there and they make them exactly as you want them.

I was shocked and disappointed! My mom bought us a set of cutlery yesterday- a very late wedding gift (3 years late) It's a 6 piece setting and I love it!! It came with a serving set also! I'm in love

Better get a move on soon.. Have a great day all!!

Morning all! I had Chinese food last night I am really disappointed in myself- this weekend I wasn't good at all. But it is Monday and I want to get back on track this week. I hate weigh in days and I see the same number from the week before- I know that I blow it on the weekends and then have to work hard all week to get back to my earlier weight- I'm just sabotaging myself. I am going to be good this week and next weekend and keep my carbs under 20! Here I go!!

Well it is going to be a really busy week!! Tomorrow night my friend's coming for dinner- I will make halloumi lasagna with garlic bread (for her) and a side salad. On Wednesday is our wedding anniversary and we will be going out for dinner- but I am sticking to plan. I am going to eat eggplant with ground beef and cheese melted on top at the restaurant. I will not have pizza!! On Thursday I am meeting a friend for coffee after work to give her her birthday present.

Oy! Tonight I am making mexicali quiche from Linda Sue's site. I will be good this week and I am going to keep my portions small- plus no peanuts!! Those are killers!! I am buying the DH a playstation 2 for our anniversary- he's 10.

Better get back to work!

Thanks Kissa!

Last night was nice and quiet- I made Linda Sue's mexicali quiche- it was pretty good! I ate way too much of it!!

I brought the leftovers for lunch. Tonight I am making my lasagna for a friend who is coming over- can't wait!! According to Fitday I will be consuming 1500 calories and 21 grams of carbs.. I have to stop paying attention to the calories!!

I wanted to buy a playstation for the DH but decided against it- it is better he chooses what he wants.. So instead I bought him Season 5 of King of Queens- he loves it! And Weekend at Bernies

I will also buy him some underwear and shirts- he loves getting that stuff

Better get back to work- I think it is going to be a long day- oh and it is finally snowing!! It looks so pretty right now- but wait a couple of days and I am sure I will be kvetching!!

Have a great day everyone!

Oh My Goodness!! I have this "friend" who has been acting wierd recently.. well, she's actually been wierd since I've known her (2 years) and I just text messaged her to wish her happy birthday and to ask if she wanted to meet for coffee and this is what she wrote me back:

Thank you for the Birthday Greetings. I'm afraid we can not meet. As I am changing very much at the moment, this is not the right thing for me. Need to be honest. Sorry.

DID SHE JUST BREAK UP WITH ME? I HAVEN'T BEEN DUMPED FOR YEARS!

I can't believe it She is so wierd. To be perfectly honest I am quite relieved that she wrote that- I felt like I was really struggling to be friends with her. It is also quite strange that she has lived here her whole life and she doesn't have any friends. Friends are very important to me- and I would do anything for them but this is a little too strange. So- whew-- strange..

You said it...strange.

One thing I have learned is that the world is full of givers and takers. You, I can tell are a giver. Be very careful of the takers, they can drain you dry.

You are better off without this person in your life. The courtesies can be maintained but you need not do more.

You have not been dumped, you have been set free!!!!

Have a wonderful Anniversary tomorrow.

Thanks Kissa- You are intuitive! I find that often I am a people pleaser. I was talking to a good friend the other day and she told me that I was a "giver" too and that I need to stop giving so much or I will end up drained- you both are right! I've been taking small steps to change and I think in the end I will be happier.

We used to have large dinner parties- well until recently. Last year it was almost every month. We would have about 15 people over and never did we receive an invite or much less a thank you- save a couple of people. I have decided to devote my energy only on people who appreciate our company and our friendship- no large dinner parties for a while!! It has helped tremendously- emotionally and financially

I have always wanted people to like me- aparently when I was 5 years old and we had just moved to a new country my sister who was 12 at the time was complaining that she didn't have any friends- my sage advice was "Follow people around until they talk to you!" I guess even then I wanted to be acknowledged.

So, my new Year's resolution ( a little late but hey) "Not to care too much about what other people think. Cherish the friends that you have and work on those relationships. Don't spend any time or energy on emotional vampires and know that I am a fun person to be around- especially when I am drinking!"

Interesting- I couldn't give myself a compliment without throwing in some humour- this is interesting.. I am quite self-deprecating and I mean it when I am... Should ask Dr.Phil about this.....

Toooo sweet. I may never eat rabbit again!

Love the resolution, wish I'd learnt this when I was in my 20s, took me a loooong time.

I come from an expat family too, so it may go with the territory.

Happy, happy, happy anniversary to you and your DH.

Hi Kissa! Thanks for salutations! What kind of expat are you?

It was a really nice night last night. We met in the centre and the DH took me an Italian restaurant that I had seen and had wanted to go. It is really pretty inside but it was overpriced. I had pizza I know I know... It was the cheapest thing on the menu I had it and I don't really reget it. I really think it is OK to have one meal a month that isn't low carb. When I was ordering part of me thought- well I'm having pizza- might as well have some pizza bread too but I thought to myself- that is horrible thinking.. Save that for another time- don't go all out because of one meal. I am planning a "fun day" for my birthday- I plan to eat everything that I want on that day.. and then stay clean for a very long time. Once I get to goal I would plan on having one fun day once a month. This thinking works for me...

After the dinner we went to a wonderful hoity toity bar overlooking the cathedral. There were the usual suspects- rich business men, models, TV personalities- all beautiful people... As I looking at them I thought to myself, I would never want to trade places with them. I have a man that loves me and I love him Of course, I wouldn't mind looking like a model but hey it's not in the genes

The DH gave me a beautiful necklace and a lovely card. It was a really nice anniversary..

The End

Well, last night was a lot of fun. I went out with my oldest friend. We always giggle.. We went our normal Irish pub and it is always a lot of fun! I'm a little tired- I got home at 12 but at least it is Friday!!

I made a great diner last night. Thin chicken breasts "breaded" in parmesan and then fried- first time I've done that.. Next time I am going to make the meat even thinner and wait until the oil is really hot so that the chicken gets crispy. As a side dish we had fresh mozzarella with sundried tomato pesto Yum!

That looks like a great place to have a drink...or two.

That is so the right attitude to your pizza. I do just that kind of thing now and again. You do it, you enjoy it, no guilt, move on. Easy.

Mozzarella...I could kill for cheese I am doing K/E at present.

My father was as engineer and I grew up in Kuwait, then I've lived in the States, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, India and Oman. Never dull.

This weekend was pretty quiet... Sunday I made a large batch of lasagna and meatballs and made a cake for a coworker... At least 2-3 meals are done for the week and then I will have time to study in the evenings. Dinner plan for the week:

Monday: Chicken in a cream sauce - Dh gets his is a pastry dish
Tuesday- Low carb lasagna
Wendesday- Meatballs in soy sauce
Thursday- Lasagna again

I also think I will be eating lasagna for lunch but I never get sick of it!

Well, last night's dinner was pretty good- I made the cream sauce with sun dried tomato pesto- yummy! Tonight we are having the lasagna- I didn't bring any for lunch- instead I am going to fry up some eggs- we finally got kitchen stuff at the office!

I spent the good part of the day putting together an Ikea table yesterday!

Had a great workout this morning- I now am so excited to work out- it has finally become addictive!!

No one's at the office yet so it is nice and quiet- I have my big cup o coffee and I am nice and warm...

Tonight I will have to study for a couple of hours- glad the lasagna is already made. I should be home at 6:45- will clean the bathroom floor quickly, put the lasagna into the oven and get to studying. My next paper should be done by the end of February

OK- better get back to work

Let's make this a productive day!
