Joyful Journey to Health

I'm going to love myself more than I have. I have been frustrated because I am so tempted to nibble and cheat, but it is time to find a way to overcome that frustration. Today, I ordered some low-carb foods to make life a little more enjoyable. I need to enjoy this journey to a slimmer, healthier me. I weighed 170 lbs. today. My longterm goal is to weigh 135 lbs. A good attitude really helps! Prayerfully hoping to keep up the momentum.

Wow! It has been a long time since I wrote in my journal. I have had my downs and ups in pounds, in life too; but I refuse to give up. That could be one choice, but I would only end up feeling defeated again. With God's help, I can do this.

Some things I have learned today:

1. I shouldn't feel guilty when the fatigue and malaise associated with NASH, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, hits me. It's part of the illness, and I am not lazy. Being too tired to do the things I want or need to do does not mean I am a lazy person. That is false guilt.
2. The struggle that I have had most of my life has more to do with genetics and stress than what I eat.
3. After reviewing my most recent successes at losing weight, I think I did better when I was taking St. John's Wort and 5HTP, than when I was taking effexor. But I have to exercise almost every day.

Right now, I am just going to try the exercise, but stay on the effexor, until I talk to my doctor.
