I Will Maintain!!!
Ok - going to try this again... too much emotional stuff going on the last time I tried writing a journal!
New day, new ways . . healthy of course LOL My measurements from last December, 05, were up 2 lbs, but similar to what I was when 5 months pregnant with Sarah & Craig! WTH is that??? Why can't I pick a number and just stay there... up? down? all around. I love to eat - I could weigh 300 lbs Soooo easily. But - I will NOT wear double digit clothing!!! After doing atkins/SB and losing a whopping 4 pounds in 3 months, Tracey got me into fasting - just TRY it for one week she says... OK OK OK WOW it does all come back to CALORIES!!! I lost 7.5 lbs that first week. Did not die of starvation. Felt mostly pretty good. While I did have to pee all the time, I did not have any uh oh's and seemed to be able to hold my water so much easier. Mmmm maybe I was depriving my body of fluids for the past couple of years? My peri-menopausal symptoms have almost totally stopped. Have not had a hot-flash or wet my pants in months... Thru the Make-it-fast forum I met many people who taught me tons and tons about the human body and what we need and don't need to be putting into it. My favorite books now are Green for Life and Eat to Live... Greens are the way to go. More veggies, less meat! Calories DO need to be counted. Being over 40, my metabolism has diminished and by eating only 1 main meal a day, with 50-80 oz of water... I can almost eat anything I want for dinner and not gain anything back. I DO eat my salad and veggies first. Of course I AM exercising more - - but probably b/c I can! I'm up to jogging 3/4 of a mile and still able to talk! I'd like to get up to a mile and then sign up for a 5K and see if I can beat that 43 minutes! LOL I should be beyond that now.Anyhooo . . . Here are my stats after losing 22 pounds since Dec 2005.... I'm bound and determined to NOT go over 129 again . . . ever... I'd say stay at 125, but I realize LIFE will get in the way eventually. Age 43 Weight 124 Height 5' 4" Neck 12.5 Shoulders 36.5 Chest 35 Waist 27 Abdomen 32 Hips 34.5 Thigh 20.5 Knee 13.5 Calf 13.5 Ankle 8.25 Arm 11.50 Forearm 8.5 Wrist 6 Resting Metabolic Rate 1255 cals/day Lifestyle Calories 815 cals/day Total Daily Calories: 2070 cals/day Your Body Fat Level Is: 27.25% Body Mass Index (BMI): 21.25 Cholesterol levels are: (This is WITH Lipitor) Cholesterol 175 HDL 72.1 LDL 88.9 BP 100/60 TRIG 70 Blood Sugar 91 With an OK from my Dr - I went off Lipitor for 3 months (till October) to see if my new nutritional way of eating (70-80% veg/30-20% meat), will allow me to have normal cholesterol levels - That would save us over $500 a year in tests and prescriptions! My goals: 1. Stay at or below 125 thru the holidays until my 44th bday in January 2. To get my BMI to 17-19% Body Fat to 20% or less 3. To take off inches from all over - keeping track at http://www.mybodycomp.com of course this will actually be obtained if #2 is obtained… 4. To keep eating healthy and work it into a family diet... 5. To stay off Lipitor! Ok - Here we go! I'll revise these goals as I go along ![]()

last night we went to Hot Tamales for Dave's bday - was very good.... I was in ketosis before dinner and again this a.m. So sticking to one meal a day and NOT stuffing myself does seem to work.
Today is a fasting day - I've had 52 oz of water so far piddle piddle piddle LOL Going to stick with salad or leek soup for dinner and NO dessert . . . jeese. Company picnic is this weekend... can I just have one year when I look nice in the pictures! I joined hotmom.com website . .. not much action out there... I really like the LCFriends website so much more... many many people and all so supportive... like coming home.... uh oh - sappiness seeping in. TOM is due the 21st of july - but it's been 4 months since it's shown up at all. |

Weighed myself on the shop scale - 123!!! So figure 1lb for the dress - 122!! I haven't seen that without being starving since before I was married!
We are planning our lunch out tomorrow, so had a Naked Green Machine for lunch today - drank the whole bottle - so calories= 260, I'm not putting down the carbs for you true low-carbers! ( For ME the natural carbs are ok ) ... but it contains the following servings: 2 apples 1/2 kiwi 1/2 banana 1/2 pineapple 1/2 mango 100 mg green tea 100 mg Broccoli 100 mg Spinach 1300 mp Spirulina (supposed to be great for the body) 400 mg Cholorella 50 mg Blue Green Algae Echinacea, Barley & Wheat grass Sounds like it should be better than a multi-vitamin! |

FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!
Gooood Morning!!!
My menu from yesterday THURSDAY - 880 Calories Coffee / non-dai cream water water water Green Machine 16 fl oz (Naked) - Lunch Brat/no bun must/ketchup corn-on-cob / buttered - 2 ears Yoplait Flaxseed (added to yogurt) I'm so totally into this 75% veggie - little to no meat... The brat was med/large - but it was my main fat for the day. The Green Machine filled me up very well, all that fiber keeps me regular... what more can a girl ask for? So - yesterday's goals, did I do them? - worked hard? Yes - manual will go out today, started cleaning out my "other" office, to make room for (get this!) MKM!!! She's going to give the position 2 months, then if she and PAG don't kill each other and work well - she'll keep the position. Good For Her! )- 60 oz water? Yes - that was easy... - Lunch was GM - Run/Walked a mile - Yes ... it does get easier every time. Plus eating the brat gave me extra energy... even ran Up the steepest part... LOL - Tae bo and arms? Ok - so I didn't GET to that part... Why??? I BOUGHT A NEW DELL COMPUTER!!!! aaaaahhhhh new is always fun. Yes I have no $$$ but whatever... my old one is over 5 years old and gets slower every day, etc. etc. I put it on the Dell credit and get free financing for 18 months... which gives me enough time to get other things in order and straightened out. Figure with david's new business I'll write off a percentage of it anyway. Ok - have to get to work . . my goals for today: - 60+ oz of water - Salad or other "good" choice when out for lunch with KB, GF and JWH ![]() - Walk/run full mile - DO THOSE ARM EXERCISES - Scrunches or pilates - lets work on that belly for picnic tomorrow. |

Oh THANK You Tracey for keeping me on my toes and letting me ramble on and on about stupid things!!! This a.m. I'm having my coffee and watermelon... I like the melon in the a.m. tasty - but not too sweet... and filled with water! After 5 chix tenders at lunch yesterday, leftover salad fixed up/cheese added/full-strength salad dressing, and 4 pizza crusts (kids' don't eat them) for dinner and yogurt/flax for dessert I was down a pound again today.... my scale said 120, but shop scale is usually up a pound - so about 121. I did get in a full mile run/walk last night and again this a.m. plus stomach workout and leglifts until they hurt last night. It would be awesome to Keep up this pace or more for the rest of the year . . . but I'll settle for another week! ) Oh Ok - The rest of this month! Company picnic this afternoon - Beer/ wine/ pig roast/ brats/ burgers / raw veggies / ice cream dishes / candy / FRESH Corn-on-cob - DIPPED in better - oh my yum yum Plus a DJ, carnival games, slides, train rides, hay rides, frisbee golf, horseshoes, etc. etc. I'm sure I'll eat, but will probaby nibble this and that... AT this moment I really don't like the "stuffed" feeling... my belly muscles are still flabby flabby - so everything I eat SHOWS, so if I eat slowly, it digests more smoothly and with less bloating. Ok - off to do my bills, laundry, cleaning, etc. etc. |

Happy Sunday....
After our party yesterday, I met up with T&D and J&M at Stage Road... only had one absolute/tonic and had shrimp dinner... was really good. Didn't eat all the fries, the salad was tiny, but so was the dessert... so wasn't totally stuffed afterwards... which was nice. At the picnic I went Lo-carb - just the PIG - some plain, some with bbq sauce. It was very very good. Had a corn-on-cob, one ice cream, 2 beers, 2 waters, small handful of chips.. so wasn't that bad of a day. Home in bed by 9:30.... Today feel pretty good - thank goodness for water! I really don't get hangovers anymore - just have to drink a big glass or bottle of water in between drinks and 2 glasses at least before bed! coool... .don't even need the aspirin anymore. Taught the boys how to weed the garden, assigned new chores for everyone. Did laundry, did laundry, still doing laundry. Finished going thru my old/new summer clothes and am GIVING AWAY anything that makes me look dumpy, fat or just plain old... The hip-hugger cords/matching sweater from younkers actually fit nice without any dunlop - boy are they low! LOL I'm going to wear them this fall ANYWAY! David is really enjoying these fashion shows... really liked my old size 29 (european women's size 6) Guess Jeans.... straight leg, tight ankle -HOT HOT HOT ![]() Now to stay on plan and DON"T GIVE UP! This can be done and it will! Had Homemade green smoothie for lunch -avocado, spinach and apple - not very fruity - so I can tell I've come a long way from the first couple I made -- I used to have to put slenda in them to get 'em down! Tonight I'm using up leftovers ... and I have a taste for rice... so chopped up all the pork roast and steak and will be making a quickie casserole... should be yummy - meat has been marinating in my favorite sauce all afternoon! Ok - take care - tomorrow's goals: - 60 oz water - Green Machine for lunch - Walk/run a mile - clean out one cupboard in the kitchen |

Hanging at 121.5 - 122 or so! :)
YES - Not sure how you deal with it... but sometimes I get days where I feel like nothing has changed at all . . . those days I get out some of my old favorite clothes and sure enough - they're waaaaaay to big! LOL
Here's my menu from yesterday.... TUESDAY - 1034 Veggie Carbs - 63, bad carbs - 27.5, total for day 142.5 Coffee / non-dai cream water Fuze water Soy nuts - 1/8 cup Green Smoothie-Banana/Pear/spin (Lunch) Ice cream - half cup (Lunch - leftover from picnic) Leek Soup - 1/4 cup (din) BLT xtra bacon (din) Yoplait (dessert) Flaxseed (added to yogurt) (really DOES keep you regular!) Chocolate- dark 2 pc Ghirdelli (irritated with new computer and I deserve it) Did much better - kids had cookies again, but I totally stayed OUT of the kitchen... once I have one bite - I'm done for. I can just taste the sugars, feel the wonderful texture on my tongue and teeth, etc. THEN when it hits my belly I immediately regret it... Oh if only we could do as the wine tasters - smell, taste, spit! LOL Only got in 3/4 mile walk/run... wanted to get my 'puter set up and was antsy . . . Did leg lifts till they hurt later on... my torso is getting some nice definition Tonight I'm meeting up with a good friend from HS... I haven't talked to her in 20-25 years! Will be kind of weird and cool at the same time. No kids coming along and figure if I'm totally bad, I can spend the night at my Best GF's house on the way home! LOL It doesn't matter what either of us look like as we havent' seen pictures of each other in all that time either... We're meeting at a Seafood place, so dinner choices will be easy and wonderful... I have to drive so 2 drinks is probably all I can do... maybe... . we'll see! ![]() Ok- have to get off my lazy butt and do some work... was late to work today.. dang it! It's THURSDAY . . .whoo hooo My favorite day of the week... most of the workweek is over, and we sliiiiiiide on into easy Friday...
Last night was nice. The resturant we were to meet at was closed, so went next door. She looked about how I thought she'd look, middle-aged, single mom of one kid... But we are celebrating our 25-year HS reunion! Our class Pres came along also, which was a very nice surprise... I haven't had a conversation with him in 5 years either... chit chat on email, but that's about it.I only had to endure One skinny comment... I wanted to cut the last quesadilla in half to share with those two (there were 5 instead of 6 pieces) Ben says, "Go ahead and eat the whole thing, it's not going to "Hurt" you!" Of course I'm not good at quick comebacks . . . and so many went thru my head (I must be PMSing!) I didn't point out that I've lost almost 30 lbs, or that I only stay this size cuze I have to workout everyday, stay under 1200 cals, etc. etc. I just politely said, "That's ok - just trying to be polite and share with my buddies!" FOR me - that in itself is a huge step for me. . . .life is not about ME! Well - this Journal is . . . I suppose I'll ignore the PMS mode and take her comment as a nice pat on the back! yeah - that's the ticket! Guess I just wanted to brag that I'm almost where I want to be, but it's lost on people who haven't been apart of your life in 20+ years! Or maybe secretly I wanted to force my new "religion" onto others who could benefit from it!!! EAT LESS EAT BETTER GET OFF YOUR BUTTS AND GO FOR A WALK!!! But I hate overzealous people of any belief because of that and we all take care of ourselves when we are READY to do it... ok - I feel better nowFoodwise yesterday was good - 2 shrimp (prawns) chips/cheddar cheese/small amnt of beef on top, 1.5 quesadilla's - chix/beef inside (small) 3 drinks! LOL No soy nuts, water, fuze and 8 oz of Green machine and 2/3 package of cashews on the ride home. So we'll settle at 1250 - most of that will be from the Vodka/tonics - didn't use diet tonic, but no biggie- they were delish!! Goals for today water water water Naked lunch Salad dinner stomach exercises run/walk full mile |

BAHHHHHHHH
I'm having a total PMS day - moood wise that is... doubts about me as a person, etc.
Took my Kava Kava, so that should kick in soon, then I'll be a bit more normal. I'm sure not getting to bed till midnight and getting up at 5:00 probably have a bit to do with it too.. At least I"m not craving tons of junk food... Going to try Fasting for the whole day, getting some of the excess water out will be much better if it's to be 90+ high humidity for the next 5 days. Ok - have to go be by myself! ![]() |

Yippee - the week is almost over.
Did well on my mini-fast - figure about 44 hours from Wednesday at 10 pm till friday at 6 pm . . . liquids only. I just can't give up my smoothies!!! All those vitamins and minerals, etc. no way! Got my speakers on the new 'puter to work - wooo hooo we're partying now! Halo, Robots, Sims! Now if only it would rain so we can justify sitting and playing games... Got in my water, run/walk -half done, 2 sets of tae bo scrunches, inner leg lifts done. Come a long way since I started the mini-fasts here and there. DH didn't even bat an eye as I cooked, served dinner (pork chops) without taking any! ahhhh, life is good! He finished off the cookies during the day-so even the kids didn't get any of those! LOL ok - today water, water, water green smoothie WORK run/walk mile |

It's Friday!
Dang Internet - gave me a double post
Mmmmm - let's see . . .how about a funny for the day.... 'A young city boy, Kenny' clean jokes 1 of 1 A young city boy, Kenny, moved to the country and bought a donkey from an old farmer for $100.00. The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day. The next day, the farmer drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news. The donkey died.' Kenny replied, 'Well then, just give me my money back.' The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already.' Kenny said, 'Okay then, just unload the dead donkey.' The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him'? Kenny said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.' 'You can't raffle off a dead donkey!' the farmer says. 'Sure I can. Watch me. I just won't tell anybody he's dead.' Kenny said. A month later the farmer met up with Kenny and asked, 'What happened with that dead donkey'? 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit of $898.00.' 'Didn't anyone complain'? the farmer asked. 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.' Kenny grew up and eventually became the chairman of Enron. [/b] Last edited by mmam5 : 07-28-2006 at 05:58 AM. |

Hello,
It's Sunday, the big Southern Door Fireman's Picnic & parade are today... currently there this a wonderful thunderstorm going thru. Fortunately for ME, I got up early and got in a nice walk/run... really stretched those legs. Yesterday I got out the CC and splurged on rubbermaid bins to store things in -3 huge for basement, 2 small for my closet. That frees up some space in my dresser. Also picked up 3 HUGE Hydraingea plants from Bonnybrook... 2 LimeLights - start out green flowers, to white and then pink - they get to be 5-6 feet tall and bushy. They are almost 4' tall now... then I picked up 1 Pink to Blue one ($45!!) uuggh, this one will only get 4-5' tall, but I arranged them g/p/g. Guaranteed for a year... I'm so excited. They are planted behind the garage off the porch. If I don't kill them, I'll get two pinkie's again next summer and plant them on each end. Also moved one of the Sycamore babies to the South end of the garage. That will be awesome in 10-20 years! LOL Digging 4 huge holes was a great upper body/back workout yesterday. Monday
happy Monday!
I'm still really bothered by the Drastic posts on the main lobby - yeowww, I've learned a lot about people I don't know and now don't care to ever meet. Very small town attitude on others' part .. . but whatever - I don't have to live with them... I'm sure part of that is PMS mood... Was due on Friday - but of course nothing to show for the 5th month in a row! Maybe I'm done now, maybe not. Was up a lb this a.m. 122... but had a huge BM (sorry TMI) and am probably back down! Ate/munched all day yesterday... parade candy/beer... 1/2 cup oatmeal w/peanut butter, soy nuts, cheese/chips at lunch, wine... I did make a great Thai Kitchen receipe - boxed noodles/seasoning - Lemongrass/Chili - added veggies/pork VERY awesome! I'll be making that again. Oh and brownies - they should be gone this afternoon - so I can get back to yogurt/flax! Having Green Smoothie for lunch, from yesterday that I didn't get around to eating . . .big silly! Salad for dinner. 1/4 Soy Nuts (snack) - did you know that a little 1/4 cup of these has 10 grams of Protein! WOW So I can feel good about that.Ok - off I get to work... lots to do! Going to have a GREAT day!!! |

AUGUST 1st!! Where is the year going???
Sturgeon Bay hit 97 yesterday! Waaay to hot to sit in our un-airconditioned home, so we went to Chaudoirs for dinner... I had the shrimp and a tall glass of water... yum! (fried of course! LOL I know - bad bad and not good for cholesterol!!!!) After eating bigger dinners fri/sat/sun/mon - at the risk of TMI - - I had two huge BM's yesterday!!! Up a 1/2 lb today also... so time to get back to salad's & veggies! Too hot to exercise last night, but got in a full mile this a.m. - was already 79 at 5:30!!!! Tomorrow the hot streak is supposed to break and be back into the high 70's/low 80's... which will be nice .. .I can't sleep in the heat... Thank goodness I lost that nasty weight... I remember how much I sweat last year. . . . Todays goals run/walk mile - already done water Fuze Water Salad/veggies for dinner Stomach & arm stuff for exercises tonight |
