Nicnacka Journal

I'm back! I kept falling off the wagon, but now I am determined. My starting stats are as follows:

7/5/2006 242lb Starting weight
7/8/2006 238.2
7/10/2006 232.6

There are three things I am doing differently. First, I have just been put on medication for ADD. It does affect my appetite, so I am finding it easier to eat smaller portions. Secondly, I am lc drink fasting for one month. I drink loads of water, and add green food to my shakes. Third, and this may sound silly but it's working, I am using hypnosis tapes. This has been a big help to me for resisting the carb temptations. Since I started, we have had home baked chocolate chip cookies twice and watermelon. The aroma almost got me , but I was able to resist the temptation!

The biggest thing I am having to learn is focus only on today, one meal at a time. If I make it past one month of this shake fast, I believe I will have developed the discipline to start eating regular food. We'll see!

Wish me luck!

Ok - I said I wasn't going to weight but once a week, but that darn scale kept calling out to me. So here's the deal:

7/5/2006 242lb Starting weight
7/8/2006 238.2
7/10/2006 232.6
7/12/2006 229.6 YEAH BABY!

I know most of this is water weight, but so what! I'm pyched! The shake fasting is going okay, but I still have problems in the late evening. I will drink another shake at nightime to combat the evening munchies. Also, not eating dinner sucks. Since I am the family cook, I always fall prey to a little sampling. The good thing is that I still haven't eaten any carbs.

So far I'm averaging 3-4 shakes a day. I mainly use the powder shakes because its more economical, but I take a RTD shake with me at all times just in case. I don't spoon stir like the directions say. That just tastes nasty. I have a godsend- the Magic Bullet- and it mixes everything in seconds. I even brought a second one to work today.

I've also been getting my water in. My goal is 120 oz per day, with a 100 as a minimum. Most days I make my goal.

Like I said, so far I've been able to resist temptation. If I can keep this up for month, then I will be on the right path.

Also - I'm almost to my mini goal - when I get to 228 lbs, I would have moved from morbidly obese, to simply obese. Yeah!
