Kate's Mini-Goal Milestones

My old journal was focused around my 10 year high school reunion. I had set out to lose weight for it and although I lost some weight, I wasn't nearly as successful as I should have been and I ended up not going to the reunion. I will not let that happen again, from here on out I will achieve everything I set out to do.

This journal is going to focus on mini goals for a couple of reasons. For one, I won't have to start a new journal because the name will always be applicable . Secondly, mini-goals will keep me more focused because I will not be looking at the huge amount of weight I am looking to lose, I will take it bit by bit, mini-goal by mini-goal.

I am officially starting this journal off tomorrow, July 9th so after my morning weigh in, I will post my list of mini-goals.

Kate-- I just read your old journal about the reunion...and I TOTALLY agree with you. It's sad, and I know I do the same thing to other people, but it's like, getting fat is such gossip. I, too, don't do things where I know I'll see high school people because I can't stand the thought of people talking about me simply because I've gained weight since high school. I feel your pain.

But new journal, new successes, new day!

Maybe I'll start a journal sometime

Kate - I also agree with you about the reunion... If I were to go to mine in September, it would be the exact same way!!! Some people aren't happy unless they are judging others or complaining about something. It's really shallow, and maybe when I was IN high school, I could tolerate it... But now, 10 years later, I'd like to think I've REALLY outgrown all of that!!! And because I know there are so many that I graduated with that HAVEN'T outgrown it... I just would rather stay away and just stick to keeping in touch with my TRUE friends that didn't need the excuse of a reunion to find me (or me them!!!)

Congrats on your new journal and for refocusing your goals and motivations!!! I'm totally on board with you!!! Looking forward to celebrating with you!!!

Okay here are the big stats: drumroll please......................................

Starting weight: 199.6
Body fat (according to my tanita scale): 45%
Measurements:
Bust=41
Waist=38.5 (still swollen from lipodissolve)
Abdomen=44 (still swollen from lipodissolve)
Hips=45
Thigh=26
Calve=14.75
Upper arm=13

Pant size=14 or 16 depending on manufacturer

FIRST MINI GOAL: 185 lbs which would be a loss of 14.6 lbs.
GOAL DATE: JULY 23rd (I know I have at least 6.5 lbs of water weight right now so I made my goal date sooner than I normally would for that amount of weight loss)
FIRST GOAL REWARD: Manicure & Pedicure with my mom or a friend

Sounds good. I love how you listed the inches. Maybe we should all do that Tuesday that way if anyone is slow on loseing the pounds we can remind them of the inches lost. What do you think? I think you are such a smartie!
You will make that first goal easy, just keep up the good work with no back sliding.

Hey... I like the measurements thing too!!! With as much as some of yall on the challenge have lost, it's nearing the time that our bodies will play catch up with the inches!!! So, I think that would be a GREAT way to track that too! We could just do our MONTHLY measurement updates... with Weekly Weigh-Ins I love it!!!

The ideas for the new challenge are AWESOME!!! Remember, if I miss anything tomorrow in the first post, be sure to ADD it in!!! I have a little "draft first message" started in MSWord, but I just want to be sure I get everything started on the right foot, ya know?!?!

Dh and I had a horrible night that has left me exhausted.

1 am decide to try to go to sleep
1:40 am it starts raining. We have a skylight in our master bath that is so loud when it rains, so I got up and shut the bathroom door.
1:45 am I realize our dog is not freaking out over the weather and we start to worry about her. Let her in for safe keeping .
5:30 am I wake up to the sound of dh's gun cocking. He heard a door slam so he goes around the house checking things out.
6:30 am alarm goes off, time to get up.

The wonderful news is that:
1)My new challenge group starts tomorrow!
2)My Stallone pudding came today
3)My Old Navy order came in, I bought clearance jeans ($14.99 per pair, can't beat that!) in a 10 & 12 for my goal sizes!!!

Tomorrow I will start putting in a daily weight, fitday totals, water drank, and exercise done. Today I did 4 massages (two 55 minute, one 70 minute, one 85 minute deep tissue). Nighty night!

I just don't want to be in bed right now. I am starting 2 new challenges and I am so excited. I am doing one with my group of gals formerly known as the 50 in 4, our new name is Making a More Fabulous Me.

I'm also doing one with Bonnie (aka vwchick) where we are doing a back to school challenge complete with before/after bikini shots (yikes!!!) at the end. I'll link them both in my signature once the threads are up and running.

Okay, better get in bed for real this time and catch up on my zzzzzzzzzzzz's.

I am excited for the new challenge, too! Maybe this time I'll make it past the 1/2 way deadline, and maybe THIS time, I'll actually lose weight! It's very motivating to have something to look forward to, and 7-11 has a good ring to the date. I even changed my avatar, profile (I confess to my 10 pounds bloating), started a journal too! You inspired me with your journal. Are you really going back to school.... or is it just a September deadline for your other challenge? Bikini shots??? I gotta see this!! Aren't the before shots going to be posted BEFORE the challenge? LOL good luck! And keep in touch...I need to be kept in check !

Scale was up today, I think this lipo-dissolve stuff is making it go crazy which sucks since I have 5 more tx's spaced 2 wks. apart.

whew! It took me forever to read through today's posts! I am down 4 lbs. already! I think everything is starting to even out from the lipo-dissolve finally. It was done one week ago and my next one is a week from today. I will try not to freak out over the scale from now on.

Put the scale away after the lipodissolve. Lock it in the trunk of hubby's car! That way you can't get freaked. If you get to edge me and Bonnie and Mel and Anna and everyone eles will talk you off the edge.

Down another 3! I knew I had at least 6.5 lbs. of water on me, I expect the loss to slow a little now. I am now only 10 lbs. from my first mini goal and I have 10 more days to achieve it according to the goal I set, think I can do it?

I had a hair appointment today for a cut and color. I haven't had my hair done since March 3rd so my roots are horrendous right now. I decided to try a new stylist and waited 2 weeks for my appointment. She called yesterday to say she had a death in the family and is leaving town. She left a voicemail so I didn't speak with her. So now I have to find someone who can get me in last minute because there is no way I can wait any longer. Thursdays are my day off and next Thursday I will be out of commission from the lipodissolve. Off to call salons and hoping I don't end up with someone fresh out of school.....
