OK today begins Day 5 annnnnnnnnd I couldn't sleep last night soooooo I got up at about 1:00 am and went to the chat room hoping someone would be there to keep me from eating....but I was all alone ....Boo-Hoo. Whine, whine!
So I ate:
5 cookies
12 oz. glass of milk
a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats
2 pieces of high fiber toast w/butter
and a banana
Whew, I don't even want to know how may carbs are in all that!
Well, I got on the scales this morning and July 6--234.5
Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be considering it had only been 4 hours since I ate all that. Now Im really kicking myself because I probably would have lost a pound had I not eaten all that. I'm not even hungry yet this morning and I'm back on plan!!!!

Been sick with somekind of stomach thing and thought I'd be down but NOT....still the same. Course that stuff I finally ate at 8:00 pm was not exactly low-carb. Today is another day and am feeling better!

You are losing weight so quickly! What have you been eating? Do you exercise at all? 10 pounds in 2 days... whew... that's a lot of time peeing in the bathroom LOL. Really, keep it up!

Samantha, thanks for your inspiring comments & you're soooo right...lots of peeing! As far as eating goes : not much, usually not very hungry (except of course the two times I cheated). I'm a very early riser (between 4:00 and 5:00 am) and I don't usually have breakfast until about 8 or 9.
B: Atkins shake or an egg or two
L: Leftover meat from night before & maybe some salad
D: We barbecue a lot (no sauces yet) some veg & or salad
TONS & TONS of WATER (love water)
I have eaten a couple of those Be Well Eat Well chocolate bars

EXERCISE~~none yet but I'm planning to start soon (where have I heard that before?)

Today starts Day 12
Feeling a little shaky today. Slept very poorly last night (which is not unusual for me , lots of hot flashes!) I was born at the wrong time! When I had my babies, it was Natural Childbirth(best for baby) now they have wonderful stuff to take....when my Mom was having Hot Flashes ..again wonderful HRT...now it's taboo! Sorry, if anyone is reading this....just needed to vent.
Anyway Yesterday I ate:
B: 2 scrambled eggs w/ sausage
L: Eat well chocolate bar
D: large sald w/shrimp no dressing
about 2 gallons of water and my vits & calcium

Down another half # to ~~~230.5

Aren't you only 4 lbs away from your first mini-goal?!?! That's incredible!! You may have to be changing that goal to something even lower

Samantha, I was just thinking about that BUT I don't want to jinx myself until I finish this 2 wk induction So probably on Monday, if I lose another lb or 2 I'll raise my min-goal to 25 by Aug 1.
I'm not going to stop induction for sometime. But I've got way more to lose than you and it take us senior citizens longer than you young things!

Well Miss Slow-loser senior citizen... You've lost the same amount this MONTH as I have this YEAR... You are doing AMAZING!!!

You are inspiring me to really work on this and be serious! You are doing fantastically, I would stick to induction for a while, too, with your results being so wonderful and all. You're going to beat me to 175 at your rate!

Hmmm seeing the copy and paste on my diet menu did not work so good and I'm too lazy to type it in excel and here too...I think!
Samantha, No way I'll see 75 before you....I've read your Journal and you're really psyched for a BIG loss (includung those big boobs...wish I could lose a little of my DDs, but it's always the last to go) I've done this before and I know I'll sloooooooow down soon (darn it)! Truth is, when I did Atkins before, as soon as I left Induction behind I stopped losing and then started gaining. Took me 4 years to gain all but 5 lbs. back. I HAVE to do better this time!
Thanks Samantha for being there for this "senior citizen"!
YOU GOOOOOOOO GIRL!

LOL.... Gran. If you gained after induction maybe you do best with your carbs at induction levels, and anything more knocks you out of ketosis?? It's funny how there are so many girls that want bigger boobs, and here we are wanting them to shrink!

I've had these big boobs since I was 14 and weighed 108# and wore a 32D (that's a hard to find size)
I don't check ketosis, just know that if I'm losing everything is going well. You're absolutely right, I NEED to stay in induction for a looooooong time to come. I'm evidently extremely intolerant of those carbs!
So today, Day 12: 1128 calories/10.4 carbs/83.3 fat/115.4 protein
Wow thats 66% fat calories (sounds scary)

Well today starts Day 14 last day of induction (I'm NOT quiting induction) Doesn't seem like tomorrow morning will make 2 weeks....that old time flies when you're having fun thing? Anyway it's been great and I feel good about what I've accomplished so far......just hoping I can continue and be strong when it all slows down. Wouldn't it be HEAVEN if it could go on like this for hmmm, lets see...another 90 days! Oh well, I can dream but I really do need to adjust my attitude when the slow down starts and that German Chocolate cake I made yesterday for DH's BD starts talking to me in an increasingly loud voice "eat me, Eat Me, .....EAT ME NOW!!!" NOW,NOW, NOW!!! It's not too bad right now sitting there 20' away whispering quietly but if it's not gone today WATCH OUT!!![/B
Whew, glad I got that out....feeling better now. If it's not gone by noon, I'm going to trash it (and it's a lot of work making that frosting)

Down another lb today and would really love to be down another tomorrow for a total of 18 with only 2 to go to 1st mini-goal. Didn't lose this much during induction last time so I'm hoping maybe I can miraculously keep going down rapidly for a while longer (am I repeating myself?) It's ok, it's my journal and I'm really good at talking to myself.

Gran-- doing great! You are going to make your 1st mini-goal so soon... you're going to have to set another one! 17 pounds in 2 weeks is amazing, and even if your losses slowed, I still think you're a fast loser, so it won't take you that long. Patience, my dear, and throw out that cake if you must!

Hey Samantha, I did get dh, dd,d-s-l to eat that cake...and they just HAD to tell me it was the best German Chocolate cake I'd ever made (not really ) And Woo..Hoo down another lb today which makes 18 for Induction!! I think I owe this to you for shaming me into getting some exercise. I'm only doing a 25 minute walk but I'm sure it's helped. Can't wait to hit that first mini-goal early

Lori, I think any of us hefties over 180 are automatic members of the big boob club! One of my pet peeves is that clothing manufacturers seem to think fat ladies want to show off thier cleavage so everything is low-cut! Embarrassing if you're approaching 60!

OK, starting week 3, not stopping induction, trying to weigh in only every other day (trying) since I know weight loss is slowing. So no weigh in today (not easy)! Been reading some pretty introspective posts and thinking about the "big picture", feeling a little fuzzy from lack of sleep. In my 20's, 30's and even my early 40's I could sleep like a baby and wake up totally refreshed....well, that's gone in my 50's and I really miss it! It's good to be retired now so I can catch that quick afternoon nap instead of relying on mt. dew to keep me sharp! Hubby says if I don't nap I'll sleep better at night....not true, I've tried it and it doesn't help! It's annoying when others tell me what works for them and can't accept that it DOESN'T necessarily work for me! Especially when he says "don't nap" and then dozes for an hour in his recliner and doesn't consider that a "nap". But, if you actually crawl into your comfy bed for an hour...that's a "nap" Crazy!

Glad I didn't weigh yesterday, first day I didn't, 'cause I'm down another 1 today. Feeling a little down, not sleeping much, up since 2:30 am. Guess I'm really gonna need that nap today. Walking daily now (making sure to count my heart rate so it's aerobic) now at 30 minutes. Glad Samantha shamed me in to doing it by her exuberance!
