Sara's Summer to Slimmer

Ok, so I went on my first diet when I was 5 (yes, 5 years old). Today, I am 29 (turning 30 in two short weeks), and I weigh 255 lbs. I knew that I needed to do something about my weight, but everybody has a straw: I went on a trip to Ireland last week, and I had trouble sitting in the seat. I mean, I could get between the armrests, but I was extremely uncomfortable and sometimes felt like I was cutting off the circulation in my legs. I felt too timid to ask the strangers next to me if I could lift the armrest so that I could be more comfortable. I kept thinking,

HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE I AM A PERSON WHO NEEDS TO BUY 2 AIRLINE SEATS?!!!

The thinnest I have been in the past 10 years was when I did "Lean for Life" through a clinic during my senior year in college. I got down to 167, and I felt AMAZING.

I was sooo self-confident, happy, much more energetic, and I felt truly attractive.

Today, even though I have an amazing, handsome, smart husband, who excepts me just the weigh I am, I don't feel very attractive.

I really trying this time. I want to get thinner, but I also know myself. Without being accountable to somebody or something, I will not do it. So, my doctor wants to see me once a month from here on out. And I am coming up with a rewards scheme (I never got rewards for good grades as a kid, but I always wanted them; why should this be any different????)

15 inches: $50 GIFT CERTIFICATE TO POTTERY BARN
30 inches: $75 GIFT CERTIFICATE TO CONTAINER STORE
50 inches: 1 DAY AT A SPA (MASSAGE, FACIAL, THE WORKS!!!)

My actual goal for this summer, ending on August 31, is 50 inches. Once I reach this goal, I will maintain for at least a month, and start a new goal.

I CAN BE HAPPY.
I CAN BE HEALTHY.
I CAN FEEL BEAUTIFUL.
i CAN BE THINNER THAN I AM NOW WITHOUT SACRIFICING ENJOYMENT IN MY LIFE.

DAY 1: Protein day

Menu:

Breakfast: two scrambled eggs
Snack: V8
Lunch: two skinned, baked chicken thighs
Snack: 4 sticks of celery, two wedges of LC light


I am fighting my higher set point today like crazy. I am off for the summer, so I really need to make a list of things for me to do to keep me busy and away from the couch and fridge.

Exercise: 35 min./ 350 cal. on elyptical trainer (10:30 am)

I need to drink more water!!!!

Water: 30 oz. by 4:30 pm
