Harley Ladys Journal 304/225/159/135 almost there
Hey everyone. I am new to this forum. I was in another forum and my computer crashed and i tried to find the site and since it has been a few years i searched and could not find it, There are soooo many low carb forums out there now. I found this one and it seemed friendly. I tried to put my weight ticker on but it only shows the link to it. I am still wandering around here lost but learning. all forums are different.. Any way I am not sure if this is where I share my experience threaths and hopes ( I wish this thing had spell check ) I started Adkins in 2003 at 304 pounds, got down to 200 and stopped, i was just glad to be there. At that time there was no fancey foods, sugar free candy, etc. then i got a hysteromy in 2005 and got up to 225.... So I started Adkins a second time, hoping to get under 200 again, and fell in love with low carbing, i just kept going on, when i got under 190 I thought i have not been here since 1996, and now i am 159 which i have not seen since 1986, so now every pound i loose is a new place I have never been. It is awesome. I am going for 130-135 pounds or a size 8 . I want to be a size 8 because I have never seen it. I went from a chubby kid into a 6X to a size 12...... never saw a 10,8,6,5,4 I want to be a single digit for the first time in my adult life. I feel so good. I look so much different (lots of photos in photo gallery) people dont know me. when i show my drivers licenses they look twice. I started selling my fat clothes (22,24) on ebay and buying GAP jean size 16 then 14 and then a 12, and got a few speggetti string summer dresses.. It is so exciting to walk into a normal store and not a fat store. It is awesome to go into stores and go to the junior department. It is amazing... I bought a new Harley last month. it has 400 miles. I have met several nice guys in the Harley croud ( not hard core bikers) all nice guys and have started dating one and riding and going out to dinner. I have always riden horses and motor cycles, I had a 1989 Harley. but it sat up because I was not going to ride fat... I was getting it fixed up and the money it was going to cost, I just went for it and bought a brand new 2006 I started going on the Harley runs and bike night and have met a lot of nice folks. I started out eating a 4 egg omlet the first two months mixed with cheese and or onion, tomatoes, ham etc... dont think I ever want another omlet....lol but i still eat eggs in the morning, usually scrambled with a side of bacon or ham or steak. Then i found out a great almost zero carb way to fry catfish. I use parmasian cheese as the breading... so i eat alot of fish. It taste wonderful. I used alot of fast foods on my journey, a taco bell burritto supreem with no beans and used the tortia shell as the PLATE, and threw it away. then at Wendys, I would get a cheeseburger with everything except ketchup and eat everything but the bread. There are some places here in the memphis area that has places that serve to the low carber like Applebees and cracker barrell which is really nice, and you can alway go to Perkins for breafast or dinner and stay on adkins. I am happy to be here for my next 25-29 weight loss to goal. I am happy to say I have not done the diet "perfect"there have been many times i had a bite of this or that, did not beat myself up over it, but what i did do the next day was had only meat cheese and eggs, no carbs at all. I eat at moms every friday night and i eat a bite of what ever she has made for the 10 of us, NEVER EAT SUGAR,no deserts, not even a bite.... but like last friday i had about 1/4 cup of white beens, and baked ham, and a salad with mayo dressing, so no the beans are not on adkins, but i doubt very seriously i went over 20 grams that day because i save my grams for my moms friday night dinners. kewl hun....... I try to stay around 20 grams a day, but at dinner last night on my date, I had steak, salad and baked potato... I ate half of the side salad and the potato was loaded with cheese, bacon sour cream and butter, and i ate the top (yummy-yummt) with maybe two bites of potato, which is OK, DID not touch the rolls and for desert??? well cant talk about that here LOL.... I am just starting to add a few carbs back into my life any way, like more veggies, i buy low carb bread that has 5 grams a slice verses a regular slice of bread having 16 gams. did not I encourage any one out there like me, a beautiful person in a FAT body, try this way of life.. stick with it. It works... I had low colesteral anyway so it has gone up from 151 to 163 but that is still low, my joints do not ache, my energy level is sky high.... i used to sleep 10 hrs a day, now i sleep 4 or 5 other than that I did not have any medical issues. but now i do a little exercising (again we need spell check in her you guys) I hate exercising. I walk the dogs, does that count?? LOL I would love to make new friends here, at their goal, newbies or in between, especially one who have lost alot and are close to goal......Low carbing.... ahhhhh It has reopend up a new world for me. 304/225/200/159/131[color=Red] ![]()

Welcome to this board...I had the same problem as you did, trying to find an old board that I use to post at...maybe it was the same board! I think it was sponsored by AOL...and I remember a guy name Jeprooster always posted there (I remember the name cuz I printed out some of his recipes) Anyhoo, couldn't find the board, so I ended up here! You'll like this board too, just takes a bit to learn how to manuver your way around...Congrats on your awesome weight loss...wow, a real inspiration! You're so close to goals- I'm always happy to see someone who was 100+ pounds overweight make it to goal...so inspiring and gives me hope since I have 100pds to lose! i am having a blast
Thanks for the kind words. I am having a blast riding my harley and dating again. I had two people today comment on my weight loss. some say i look ok at 159... not... i am going for 130 and I will do it. I have come this far, there is no stopping me..
I ordered some food stuff off this site like the beanut butter, ketchup,pudding,shakes,jelly and they came yesterday. what a treat to have somehting new and different as i add a few carbs back into my WOL-OWL i LOVE the way my harley runs, much softer than my 1989 sporster. I do ride like I stole it.. tooi need to put on a few more photos.... i am a size 12 now, heeee heeee heeeee today.... my way of frying catfish.... in parmsian cheese and salt, paprikia ( cant spell) and it is soooooo awesome. I eat it almost every day and now i add the no carb ketchup. so today i had my shake for breafast, one gram, my sugar free red bull, 3 grams, 3 cat fish filets for lunch zero carbs, and for my dinner tonight i have turkey breast, swiss,lettuce, onion, tomato and mayo all chopped up and stired together with bacon on top, like a a club sandwich with no bread I eat very slow and make my catfish last about two hours, eating a bite here and there. I am at work so that is very easy to do since i got here at 3p I have had two arrest and two fire calls and one mvc (motor vehicle accident) and the phones are non stop and I am here alone today..... so I have been typing on this for the last two hours also |

They said we can not use the internet at work
i am so pissed, they said at work we can not use the internet because it was distracting us, yes i love to be here and yes i love bidding on size 1 and 10 GAP jeans on ebay, but this really sucks because the supv. ( who I have 6 more years experience than her plays POGO all the time.... so what is the difference. it is a bunch of crap... ok i still weigh 159, had few low carb beers last night at bike night, my first bike night in a while, there were probally 150 bikes there. saw two guys from 20 years ago that were my brothers friends.... they did not know me, I had to say I was Lee Hastings sister... AND THEY FREAKED OUT....said they would have never known me on the street... I was overwhelmed. that was my whole goal was to find them amoung two hundred people at the side car cafe before it got dark, I walked around, not knowing exactly what they looked like, then my friend mike, who told me they were there found them for me.... I was drinking sugar free red bull by then. I was there 5 hours... came home, lonely, but still had a good time while I was there. today i sorta have a headache.. wonder why? oh well bike night again next wednesday. maybe i will meet some more people that will want to go riding with me. I have met a few, but seems we ride once and our schedules dont mix or one thing or another. I am sick of work. I want to take a vacation day off tomorrow I am so pissed right now.... i am jumping back to the internet deal. I mean what is the big deal,yes i answer police fire and 911 calls, but the phone has not rang since i started writing in my journal....errr.. i know, i need to just get over it and go on and do better and get real... i aint the boss, i am the sucker and i have to do what she says.... now what i have done on my own for 19 years.... i have not exersised lately. except riding my harley and that wears me out somewhat... at least my arms and neck. I have been wearing size 14 GAP jeans... weird thing is my friend mike's old lady left him and i grabbed her clothes, and two leather Jackets and I put on her jeans i wore last night to bike night and they were a freaking size 10, they were painted on me tight and looked good. (my butt looked good Mike said it) I had on a speggetti top size large. my bust has gone from a 48 DD to a 38c and I am taking advantage of the size... for the first time i can wear stuff like that and not look top heavy... I have always hated being top heavy.anyway Mike was going to throw everyting out at the street, so I grabbed all the shoes, jeans and tops, and anything leather I could find. some still have tags on them... nice jeans, size 8 and 10 some I can not wear, I can get over my butt but not zip up (YET) ok i fell better now journal... thank you for listening..... i got a few new photos posted...... sharon 304/225/159/130-135 ![]() |

still hanging in the low carb way of life
Hey all still hanging in there. still at 151-154 pounds. its ok. i have lost about 75 pounds and wanted to get to 135 but 150 is ok... i have maintained for 2 months and size 12 are loose. yes i wanted to get to a size 8 and may still do it, but for now i have added some carbs to my diet in the way of a small amount of bread and starches and white and yellow veggies but NO SUGAR..
no white sugar, no candy, no deserts PEROID.. like yesterday i had two Krystal cheeseburgers and they were awesome... I did not have fries or ketchup (ketchup has alot of sugar, i have low carb at home i use)anyway the krystals were eating without guilt, and knowing that today i would not go over 15 garams of carbs, so mostly today i will eat meat and eggs, like i had for breafast was 2 boilded eggs and polish sausage with cheese. lunch fried cat fish filets deep fried with parmasian chees as the breading with salt pepper paperikia , it is awesome and taste so good deep fried. dinner i will have aspargus with cheese and shaved turkey breast. i will be under 15 grams and i will not gain any weight from the two wonderful krystal cheesburgers. yesterday was 9-11 and a the police department where i work they had a party, wal mart brought us a lot of food, fried chicken, meat and cheese plate (4 of them) olives, black and green, tater salad, mac salad etc. i only had meat and cheese. and a huge red white and blue flag cake. all was dontated because of 9-11i dont miss the cake. i do get down sometimes and i just look at a photo when i was 304 or 225 and then look at myself now. it is still hard dating and not very many nice men out there worth a crap and after two one night stands i dont hold out much hope, i get tired of i will call you and they dont. i still ride my harley. me and my girl friend rode sunday and man were the guys looking at us.... two gorgous girls on a harley... then we got to the harley spot and some dikes on bikes drove up with spiked hair. and very LARGE women.... it was a hoot. because we are straight...and just having fun..... well i will run for now, got a bunch of stuff to do here at work, training a new person....: |

sharon, just wanted to let you know you look great. I'm real jealous of you having a new harley. I want one so bad, but seems like everytime I get money put aside something comes up, this May it was my dd wedding. Hopefully next spring. ds just got his permit so I might have a riding partner.

I can't wait to be where u guys are...my weight is coming off slower i started june 28th at 232 and its sept 24 and i am 210. I am only 5 feet 1 inch tall so my weight is accentuated.... I also eat omelettes for breakfast and usually whatever meat i cooked for supper and a large salad with yellow beans.. I ahven't cheated with any breads or complex carbs.. but i have had a few too many store bought patties and cheese...I often go over my cheese limit.. i am trying to cut that out.. my salads usually are Huge/ boiled egg/brocolli/romaine lettuce/celery/sliced meat/cheese cubed on top / mixed with mayo and water
i do like tuna too i make lettuce wraps with tuna and cheese..they are good.. soon i will begin exercising..i've been able to walk more now that i am down a bit of weight and i legs don't ache as much... I was a 2 pack a day smoker and a 3 pot a day coffee drinker..I've quit both..2 yrs ago..now its my weight... I am reclaiming my life..no more excuses.. I would play the Blame game... I eat coz !!!!! I will control my self.. use my own FREE WILL ... and I will give all my support to all u lovely people and ask for yours... Harley Lady,
I was thinking about doing Atkins again and after reading your posts I'm starting tomorrow! You said you're supposed to weigh between 112-119, how tall are you? Are you going by your BMI? I'm 5'9.5" but the weight has slowly crept on and I can't carry it off or hide it with clothes anymore. Great score on the clothes. Free clothes that fit-awesome! Hope she doesn't want them back ! |

i am hovering over 146 i wanted to get to 135 also but now i am happy size 10 i think the reason, no i know the reason i am not going anywhere is because i am at my body weight for activity.. i think now the only way i can lose weight is to exersise, walk etc i still low carb 5 of 7 days, the other two days i have some bread and white/yellow veggies but NEVER sugar. I have sugarfree candy a couple time a month if i just cant stand it, most of the times i am ok and dont crave. the reason this low carbing works is that sugar triggers your cravings in your brain. you go without sugars and there is no cravings. so i eat no sugar. yes bread and white veggies breaks into sugars but it is not the same as refined white/brown cane sugars. there is a big difference. i find that losing 154 pounds and my skin has mostley popped back pretty good for my age. i got a little belly bag and my thighs dont look great but in cothes i look pretty damn good wearng my lowrisers, speggetti string tops... i feel prety good at 145-149 and if i maintain here i am happy. i think you have to do this for life, and that is what i plan to do. low carb forever well 5 of 7 days i will stay under 20 carbs and eat normal portions 3 meals a day on about 1300 calories .... low carbing i do not count calories and my starbucks heaving whipping cream double shot coffe is about 500 calories. lol... anyway sunday was awesome. i had two krystal cheese burgers with extra pickles and they melted in my mouth. also sunday i had a loaded backed potato at J Alexander's steak house for dinner . the next day i felt so guilty and in remores and felt i had gained back all my weight. i now have to learn how to eat normal food in moderation on the days i can have them. it is interesting as a drunk if you have one drink that can lead to a binge but eating is different, you can binge, but it is not like you have to wipe the slate clean and start all over, you just pick up the peices and go on. so it was OK that i had to krystals, Ok for the baked potato, and ok that my pants were tight. errrrrrr today they are so tight and my rings are tight just from drinking diet soda but.... what i am trying to say, this is all new to me. i have never been this small in my adult life. i need to read and listen to those who have more experience than me and look for that in the success stories in this forum. i am learning to live one day at a time and it is scarey. some times i want to go out and i get scared and freeze up with fear, i really have to make my self go out because i can not hide behind my fat. i feel naked all the time every place i go, but i am working on that. please email sharon adair tennessee [quote=sofree]Reading your posts have been inspirational to me....I am also doing low carb...No bread, no sugar.....I need to get to 150 and then on down to 135 to start...I started about 180..I am now 160 or so...I can't seem to go any further...ANy advise |
