Starting over..Day 2 on Induction and all is well.
Well, I wanted to start an online journal to keep track of what I eat and how I feel on my Atkins Journey. I think this will keep me on track and in focus.
Day one (yesterday) Woke up determined to get back on Atkins and get this weight off! I am sick of feeling FAT and uncomfortable in my clothes. I know I CAN DO THIS!!! I got on the scale and about died!! 224 in big bold red numbers stared me in the face..not happy!!! But, I know I am the ONLY one who can do something about it..AND I WILL!!! For breakfast I had: 2 scrambled eggs fried in butter w/ sour cream, and 2 sausages. Noon - one hamburger pattie with cheese, one carb ketchup. Went to the gym and worked out for an hour. one mile on treadmill and did weight lifting machines. Was tired, but it felt good. 3pm- 1 hard boiled egg and 2 oz of turkey breast 6pm- 2 scrambled eggs fried in butter, w/ sour cream, 3 oz of steak 9pm- half a cup of SF jello Drank LOTS of water!!!! Went to bed with a gigantic headache!!! Told myself that it is from sugar and carb withdrawls. Read my Atkins book (my new bible) and it said it was normal and will be gone by day 3.Woke up starving at 3 am, with headache. Rolled over and went back to sleep. Day 2- Headache is a bit better. Still there, but not as bad. Took another Aleve. Breakfast- 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 oz of turkey breast, water Going to take dogs for a walk and will report back later. ![]()

Welcome back!
You can do this, you have the motivation and we're all rootin' for you!
Hey, one thing about your menu... where's the veggies? It's not the 'no carb' diet... have something green. Sounds like what I tell my son. Usually he comes back with green jello ![]() Good luck!!! Dano |

Thanks...day 2 and day 3
First of all...Thanks for the "welcome back" Dano and Kathy!!
It' is great to be back to the boards!!! I remember you, Dano, from the chat room! You look great! Congrats on your losses to both of you! Had to laugh at you Dano...I did actually have a big lettuce salad yesterday for lunch!!! LOL at the green jello too! Lunch yesterday- Big GREEN salad with celery, shredded cheese, purple onion (just a little) with Italian dressing...and a bratwurst (no bun of course!) Snack-1 hard boiled egg Later snack- 1 brat Dinner- 1 cup lettuce with shredded cheese and bacon bits and Italian dressing....and ring sausage fried with red peppers and onions dessert- 1 cup SF jello Day 3- My headache is much better..still a slight one. I hope today it will go away completely. Feeling good otherwise. Not craving sweets or carbs, and when my kids or hubby eat them in front of me it's not bothering me. (Yahoooo!) Breakfast- 2 scrambled eggs in butter w/sour cream, 3 sausage patties Lunch will be - 1 brat and a salad Snack- turkey and 1 hard boiled egg Dinner- Grilled chicken breast, green beans Lots and LOTS of water!!!!! As for exercise I walked my dogs and rode my bicycle early this morning befor it got hot. I can tell I am FINALLY ready mentally and physically to be strict with this and to NOT cheat at all!!! The only person I will hurt is myself...and I know this..I REALLY REALLY want to lose this weight and feel good about myself and be healthy!!!! ![]() |

Day 6 and still going strong!! No cheats!!!! I had all eggs and meat today. Fridge broke down and won't be fixed for a few days. No room in the cooler for veggies! I'm anxious to see what the scale says on Monday. I really am hoping I see a significant drop. I've done soooo good! I am proud of myself. I feel great and have no cravings and not a real big appetite, but I am eating enough I'm sure.

Hi and thanks chakwaina37! It's always nice getting support from a fellow low carber!
Well, day 7 is almost over and I did pretty good. I did waver a little but don't think it will throw me off. I didn't have the energy today that I had yesterday. But, I did go shopping for 5 hours today..so that may be why!! LOL Here is my menu: B- 2 fried eggs in butter, 3 slices bacon lunch/dinner- Cajun chicken Ceasear salad at a restaurant and French onion soup. late night snack- 3 pieces of bacon Lots of water, 1 diet pepsi All in all I am proud of myself for making it through a week! I'm anxious to see what the number on the scale reads tomorrow!!! |

Weigh in day
Day 8- Weigh in day!
Drum roll please.....I lost 5 lbs. I am happy with that and very grateful!!! I am more determined now to keep on induction for as long as I can and see the numbers go down. I know it won't always be that big of a loss, but there WILL be a loss! I'm doing the happy dance! LOL Still sticking to mostly meat and eggs today. Will get some lettuce soon. I didn't have alot of energy yesterday but I think it was because I was out shopping all day and just wore myself out. I'm lovin low carb!! |

Day 9 on induction
Feeling great! Did and hour workout at the gym. Felt good to sweat! Bought more meat to snack on. I'm loving how I don't get that afternoon slump from sugar and carbs. I feel so much happier. I'm loving this way of eating! Family is still not real supportive and trying to tempt me with sweets. But, I'm staying strong and not letting it bother me. I am doing this for ME and NO one else! I'm mentally ready to do well and get this weight off once and for all and feel better about myself! |

Day 10 and still doing great!!! I've grown to love to "graze" during the day on meat, cheese and eggs. I know, I should eat more veggies, and I do sneak them in every once in awhile. I'm sure I am under 20 carbs a day with what I do eat. I don't count closely, but I watch my portions of cheese. Decided to quit drinking diet rite soda, started to get afternoon headaches and I think its from that. So I will just stick to LOTS of water!! I know that helped me before. Still NO cravings, and not hungry too much. I'm lovin it!!!

Day 13 and still going strong!!! I think everyday keeps getting easier. I love how all my cravings are gone and that I can find things even in restaurants to eat and don't feel deprived! I really think it is due to finally being ready to get this weight off mentally and physically and that I am doing this for ME!!! I feel great and am happy!!

Day 15- I've been CHEAT FREE for 14 days. Weighed myself today and only lost 1 lb. this week. Needless to say I was disappointed. Maybe I'm retaining water. I don't know. But, I WILL keep going!!! I'm going to do induction again this week. I'm going to up my exercise and stay CHEAT FREE. I did measure myself and have lost a total of 2 1/2 inches I guess instead of being bummed out, I have to tell myself that I am 6 lbs and 2 1'2 inches CLOSER to my goal!!! My clothes do feel better on me. Not so tight and I don't have that "stuffed" feeling, so that is a GOOD thing!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Day 25 and 26. I wasn't going to continue my weightloss journal, but have decided I should.
I got on the scale and hadn't lost anything last week. Got very discouraged. I kept ON plan, no cheats AT ALL! Worked out hard at the gym 3 days this week, also did pilates and walking in between. I just heard about a 3 week stall that some people get. They say the body is trying to keep up with the weight loss. Not sure if I have that or not. I will measure myself tomorrow and see if I have lost inches. I sure hope so! So far I have lost 8 lbs after 4 weeks. I hoped for more, but should be happy with that. It means I am that much closer to goal. And, I know I didn't gain all I have to lose in one month. So, I must be patient! I am also having bloating and constipation problems that started yesterday. I am taking lots of fiber tablet, having lots of gas but not much else. I hope this passes soon. I'm thinking of getting some sort of laxative or colon cleanse, but have heard bad things about them. I have to get back to my positive attitude. I miss it. I just have to get past this bump in the road I guess. Tomorrow is another day. |
