Weight
230.5 I kept dipping into the 220's...but I played it safe and recorded it like that...although I think I am actually 229.5 to 230.5 but my scale isn't digital so it have a 3 pound leeway if it gets off balance. I'm positive that I'll hit the 220's this week
Exercise
2 hours swimming
I did I think 10 laps in the lap pool...not vigourous swimming but I tried to keep moving....then swam in the family pool until a water aerobics class started and I tried that...it was cardio/kickboxing/Yoga...and I admit parts of it were kinda difficult to balance....I wanted to fall asleep during the Yoga part...I think I actually get a better workout on my own that the class...but I'll incorportate some of the moves....also there are a few other water classes I can try

So it's my Birthday today....27. Didn't have cake, but I feel good, losing weight is really the best present for me today....now if you could only gift wrap a 50 pound loss overnight...that would be great!

Talk to you tomorrow- hopefully from the 220's!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes

Weight
229.5 YES YES YES!!!! I am FINALLY at that ever elusive (for me) 10 pound mark! And I owe it all to the YMCA When I did Atkins 2 years ago the first 10 pounds came off very quickly....this time? About 2 and a half months! Now of course most of it I wasn't exercising and I kept cheating...but now I'm finally back into the 220's- hurray! Very happy about that

Exercise
1.4 mi on treadmill (30-35 min)
No swimming today, decided to take a break from it.

My eating is really very good...have not cheated at all and still am not having cream, cream cheese, or sour cream and that is making all the difference. Also I'm not obsessing over food like I did before....always thinking about what I'd eat when I could eat...wishing I could eat- now I eat when I'm hungry...I think the exercise helped with that too

Super hot out today-glad I don't have to be outside...its almost 10pm and it's still hot out there....
Maybe I'll be 228 tomorrow.....

Weight
Thursday 08-03 229
Friday 08-04 228

I'm on a roll and loving it...I hope I didn't screw it up today by having a bunch of low carb/low sugar ice cream bars...I learned that I really can't have those in the house and not totally devour them in a day...I had 6- the whole box...yes, I know, I have a problem! The sugar free popsicles stay around longer and I happy to have them around cuz it's been so crazy hot outside

Exercise
Thursday 08-03 Hour and half of swimming
Friday 08-04 Nada! I had exercised 7 days in a row, I figured I was due for a rest day...which I think I did need.

Other than my ice cream binge I'm doing good in the food dept...eating regular meals and lots of vegetables. Today I bought a size 20 jeans for a goal post. They have a lot of stretch to them so they are vanity sized...a normal size 20 wouldn't even button for me right now...but these are as tight as can be and really aren't ready to be worn....I'd say they're more like a size 21 (if there is such a thing). But they were only 8 dollars and I wanted something to compare my weight loss to other than the scale (which could stop going down any time now and stay stuck for a very long time) It's wishful thinking, but maybe I will be at 227 tomorrow

Weight
228 Todays weight was tricky to tell cuz sometimes it said as low as 226...I tried it like 20 times....so I just left it at 228...maybe I'll be solidly at 227 tomorrow.

Exercise
2 miles on treadmill. I did do like 3 minutes on the eliptical machine and that was TORTURE! Not ready for that right now.

TOM is here...I hate TOM. So I'll probably not lose or even gain...I hope not, but probably. I'm hoping that I'll be below the 220's....lets say before October first....I'm giving myself almost 2 months to lose 9 pounds (to get to 219) And I want to be at 199 or lower by New Years. So that is about 5 months to lose 28 pounds...think I can do it?? We'll see....I think if I keep exercising regularly I can. Ultimately I want to get to goal before I start grad school in August 2007....I'm 12 pounds down....88 to go!

Weight
228 and holding. Well that darn TOM has stopped the weight loss, but that just comes with the territory....hopefully I won't gain

Exercise
Sunday 08-06 None...too wiped out.
Monday 08-07 2 miles on treadmill...about 45 minutes

Exercise is going well....I actually kinda look forward to going to the gym....sometimes I feel like I'm the heaviest person in the room...but honestly this YMCA isn't a 'hook-up' place where lots of people hang out and try to look good...you're there to work so thats what I do. I won't delve into the other machines until I'm under 200pds.

Hmmm, not much to say except I hope to keep losing!

Exercise
2 Miles on Treadmill

I really didn't want to go to the gym today...but I did and I'm glad I did. You know what is disheartening? When you're working your very hardest to walk at the '3.0' level on the treadmill....and the woman who is 40 years older than you are is at a '3.5'...and on an incline...and she seems fine!! And I'm not even at 3.0 the whole time...I have to work my way up to it!! So yeah...I'm very out of shape...but everyday I get a little faster on the treadmill...I can up the speed a little quicker...but basically I haven't gotten over a speed of 3.1

I bought those low carb ice creams again tonight cuz we rented movies and I wanted a treat since other people were going to have 'normal' junk food...and I, uh, ate the whole box again. I have self control issues...I admit it. I'm like that person who if there is something chocolate in the house I have to eat it until its all gone...don't really know why...I'm sure there is some logical explanation that goes back to childhood...but basically this makes me a greedy glutton! I was lucky before about not gaining...but with TOM...you know he's not going to let that slide....I've been tettering at 228/229....soon TOM will be gone and hopefully some pounds with go with it.
See you tomorrow....

Thanks for the encouragement

Weight
227 Down another pound

Exercise
2 Miles on treadmill

So I lost a pound- WOOHOO! 13 pounds total....not too shabby...especially since 8 pounds of it was lost within 2 weeks (the YMCA rocks ) Maybe, just maybe I'll be at 226 tomorrow....

226 Yes! I'm almost to that 15 pound mark- woohoo!

Exercise
Nada! I kept putting it off and by the time I felt like going...the Y was going to close soon so...REST DAY!

So I'm in my groove and feeling good I've been eating a lot of sugar free popsicles...probably not the best thing...but they help curve my cravings for junk food. I did have a happy meal today of mcnuggets and apples that I did NOT dunk into the caramel- even though I love caramel. So not a phase one food...the nuggets are a 'never' food...but that is just realistic for me...to eat fast food once in a while...and even have enough self control to skip the fries...thats doable for me. If I was an Atkins fanatic, I know I'd get tired of it and just quit so I might slow my weight loss by eating some 'junk' occasionally- but hey, thats just my way. Besides, this isn't something I make a habit of anyways.

With that said....maybe I'll be at 225 tomorrow- a girl can dream....

Not much going on today...I did measure myself and it looks like I may have lost about 3 inches from the first time I measured...I didn't do it on my arms and legs so I'm not positive what the real number is...but hey- I'll take it!

Exercise
2.3 miles on treadmill....1.2 miles walking in woods....total of 3.5 miles- WOOHOO!

Yep, I walked a little extra today cuz it was so nice and breezy out I decided to take a drive to Appomattox, a little town where I use to live (also where the Civil War ended for any History buff's) and took a walk on one of the historical paths they have down there that leads to a stream....they had the distance on a sign...0.6 miles to there...went both ways...1.2 miles! If they didn't have it posted, I doubt I would know how far it was...I think I would have assumed it was a mile one way- I have a bad sence of direction and distance. Going down to the stream was nice and leisurely...but there is an incline going back up in a field- which can be murder on a hot day....I always huff and puff going up it- even when I was a lot lighter. Maybe someday I'll be able to run up it...that could be a goal I also went to a civil war cemetary at night...its just so nice and peaceful with the crickets...I live in a city now so I miss that. A cop pulled over and I thought "OH CRAP!" cuz there is a sign that I'm not suppose to be there after night...well it was fine and even started talking about how the cemetary and the land is haunted by confederate and union soldiers...only in a small town can you get yelled at for trespassing without really getting yelled at...he even introduced himself and shook hands...told me I could stay longer...in the uh, haunted cemetary-lol. Anyways, I thought that was funny.

No weight loss today, but that doesn't surprise me since I ate a lot of s/f popsicles yesterday...and those carbs do add up, even if they are sugar free. I think I'll swim tomorrow

Exercise
A little over 3 miles on treadmill.....67 minutes. Ususally I do about 40-45 minutes.

So I'm very happy today- to say the least....I really feel like I can do this...the exercise is helping sooooo very much!

223.5 yeah I gained half a pound...and I know why...I had a roll at dinner last night...it was a mistake cuz I got sick over it...those darn starches!

Exercise
None. I went to the eye doctor today and my eyes were dialated...which brings me to some big news...for me anyways. I'm getting Lasik Eye Surgery ; ) I'm really scared but excited- I'm going to have it in 2 weeks. Bye bye glasses and contacts!

223

Exercise
Thursday- 2 miles
Friday- 2.75 miles

I have actually slowed down a bit on the treadmill...I'm walking at about 2.8 mph...then go to 3.0 during the last 10 minutes or so...I'll walk faster if I'm listening to a song I like (they have 3 music channels along with the tvs that you can listen to). So I was bummed that I'm at 223...but looking at my weight chart I have here at my desk I see I was at 224 just 4 days ago...so I shouldn't be so whiny!....it was been less than 3 weeks since I start the YMCA and I have lost 12 pounds in less than a month...that really rocks! I need to remember that So I'm trying to just completely change my life...I want to get the eye surgery so I don't need glasses and lose weight...maybe dye my hair blond (I'm a brunette) start going back to church again (I stopped for a long time....although I did go a Christian school here in Virginia- Liberty University...thats where I'm going to go for graduate school) and just turn my attitudes toward life around...become more positive...I feel like I have changed a lot in these last few months, and I know doing Atkins and exercising has definitely helped with that...my family has told me that I'm seem much more happy and positive. I know losing weight isn't going to cure all my problems- but I do believe that I certainly will be a more positive person when I'm a normal size and will be able to do the things that 'normal' people do....like be more athletic and not have the 'I'm the fattest person in the room'...thinking.
Maybe I'll be out of the 220's before September

Exercise
2 miles on treadmill. I finally asked one of the YMCA workers how to work the weight machines which I guess are for circuit training...like what they have at curves. I think I'm going to start adding those into my schedule...although it'll be hard for me to keep track of what machines I'm using in this journal cuz I don't know the names of them I guess I'll make up my own names for them-lol...I'm such a dummy when it comes to exercise stuff

Weight
224 I went up a pound about 2 days ago...and I know why...McDonalds Oreo Mcflurry...yeah, they're the devil...but soooo delicious...I also had a happy meal today with nuggets and apples...that I don't feel so bad about...although it isn't 'true atkins'...I'm not a gung-ho Atkineer...but the Mcflurry was definitely bad and I shouldn't complain about the gain.

Exercise
Sunday-2 miles and weights
Monday-2 miles and weights
Tuesday- 1.5 miles
Wednesday- 2.7 miles (1 hour)

I think what I'm going to try to do now is to work out twice a day...and walk an hour each time (if the YMCA isn't too busy, people wait in line for treadmills during the busy times) The weight training is fine- but I don't think I want to dedicate as much time to that as cardio...and I'm not going to walk for speed or distance- although I have been doing 2 miles each time...but I think I have slowed down a bit...but I should be doing at least 5 miles a day if I walk for 2 hours everyday...I want to speed up this weight losing machine- ya know? I've got the time to do it- I might as well do it- after all, at this time next year I'll be starting college again and I want to be at goal by then (I'd actually like to be in the 120's as my goal...but we'll see whats doable when I get down to 140...I do feel like that is doable)

Next week is my laser eye surgery!

Not much going on today...just tired of being fat is all- can't wait to lose all this fat that I carry around every day (I'm in a great mood today- you can tell-lol) I think having all of the college kids back in town depresses me cuz it seems like they have it so easy- no real worries, and they look great...ah to be 18 again- huh?
Oh well....see ya tomorrow...

First off...you caught my attention with how you workout late in the night with infomericals and how you at least get 30 min of exercise and you don't have to buy the dvd!!!! You totally won my attention with that!
And I love your smurf!
Just wishing you the best of luck and I'm so excited to see your progress!

223 Back to my old 223 again...I'm beginning to feel how I did when I was stuck at 235...I've been stuck here for a week and a half

Exercise
Nothing. The gym looked closed tonight...no one in the parking lot...so I didn't try the doors...the lights looked turned off, but they might have been open...

Not much to report today...hoping I'll be out of the 220's before September...although I know I won't exercise for at least a few days after my eye surgery- excited and scared about that!

Talk to you tomorrow- maybe I'll finally be at 222!

221 Yes Yes Yes! My 20 pound mark is almost here- WOOHOO! Just 22 pounds away from 199- I feel like if I can get past that dang 200- then I can make goal!

Exercise
Saturday- 1 hour on treadmill plus weights
Sunday- 1 hour on treadmill plus weights

Still don't know the names of the curcuit machines- although they are written on the machine themselves, maybe one of these days I'll learn them-lol. I think I have gone down in inches since I've started the weight training...my clothes seem baggier to me. I'm not going terribly heavy- 30 pounds of resistance on most of them...but I'm not looking to build huge muscles...just tone all that flabby skin. I'm walking slow on the treadmill- I do about 2.7-2.8 miles in an hour...which is slow, I know- but like I said before- I'm looking to keep exercising for an hour straight- I figure I'll speed up with time.

I haven't been cheating so thats definitely helped....those darn Mcflurries are the devil....if I want to make 199 before Christmas I need to stay focused!

2 days until no more glasses!
