Lowish carb day. 65. The brunt of my carbs were eaten before 2:00 p.m., with 24 from my oatmeal protein pancakes on the meal following my workout. Only trace from that point forward.

Hunger levels seem to be back to normal. Went a little "nuts" with munching on almonds...got carried away, jacked my cals up. But they're good for me; no worries.

HB, Daisy, GW and Dani...

I've beed a little preoccupied this week. My mom has some health concerns that I have been focusing on, so I've been spending time with her to help care for her and such.

As much as I want to be there for her -- and I will -- I need to remember to keep a healthy focus and outlook for my own physical and mental well being as well.

Hoping to regain a little focus on my path.

I didn't sleep well the night before last while at her house. My back bothered me all day at work yesterday. Every time the judge would leave the bench, I'd sneak outside the courtroom to the hallway to lie in the floor and do stretches. Had to warn all the staff so they wouldn't assume to call 911. Early evening last night I was able to do Callanetics, and that helped tremendously. Followed with light cardio for 20 mins. Slept pretty well last night.

Here's to a new day.

And as for my back, it's back to 99%. All that stretching yesterday, last night, this morning...my back is thanking me.

SATURDAY FEB 13

I was able to get in an awesome workout this morning........ IT.FELT.FABULOUS.

What a fix!

Oh, how I miss it when I can't move it.

10 mins cardio, 45 mins weights, 18 mins Ab Jam .... and a wholllllotttta stretching!

I've had very little to eat today, hardly no appetite. Had my post w/o shake, and gonna go for a long walk here in a bit for fresh air and another dose of endorphin rush. I'll grab something to eat here in a few.

Then shower, get a manicure, then go visit with my mom. She asked me to bring her some lowfat icecream. She's not had much of an appetite, and that's all she really wants to eat. I think I can handle that request. But I'll be sure to stay the heck away from it. It's somewhat like asking an alcholic to bring you a fifth of whiskey.

"Oh. Sure. Not a problem."

I'm on fire and in laser-focus control. Not gonna screw it up now.

Feeling great this morning. Muscle soreness in my abs and glutes mostly. Love that feeling. Gonna likely do biceps and cardio today. (didn't work biceps yesterday)

Keeping it to low carb today.

Sunday 2-14

Good day today. My hunger was very suppressed all day. Go figure.

Take it as it comes.

The sun was shining today, and although a bit cold, it would have been a nice day for a run. I kept thinking all day I was gonna go for a run. Go now while I have a chance, etc. But my inner voice won out. I have to listen to my body. It knows best.

My legs are TRASHED from yesterday's LB workout. The muscle soreness intensified over the course of the day -- calves, thighs, hams, glutes -- screaming for mercy. Mostly glutes. But even my knees felt a little weird. Decided against the run, esp with the colder temps. Kept it to 40 mins cardio indoors and 20 mins of biceps. Attempted the "21" approach for biceps. OUCH. That HAS to be effectiive.

Supposed to snow tonight, but anyone's guess at how much if any it will accumulate. Wait and see.

Holiday tomorrow. Sleep in a bit. That will be nice.

We're getting the snow here in Ohio--too much, as far as I'm concerned! Another 6-10" today...

You are such a good daugher! And you are wise to help out now, as you will never have any regrets later on. I was very close to my mother who is now deceased...but I was not with her at the end of her life, and it still bothers me to this day that I did not put her first. I was on the phone with her constantly, but I was not physically with her. Of the many things in life I wish I could do over, that is one of the biggies.

Hope you enjoy your day off--relax and have fun.

Medium day for carbs, around 120. Mostly from Kashi Go Lean Crisp. Gobble, gobble.

Manicure today. Still waiting for the salon to get Barefoot in Barcelona. Oh.So.Pretty.

Bought a Fossil watch today on clearance that I loved enough to have gladly bought full price. WHAT? Sleek black, bold, with copper accents. So me.

GW, Did you get the big snow? We got NOTHING. What do THEY know!

ITA on your advice re my mom. She needs me now in more ways than one. I have two other sisters. We're trying to take turns with her needs. I try to keep her attitude in check, strong, positive thoughts. Faith. Trust. We have the capacity, if we choose, to overcome obstacles first in our minds. We focus on what's important.

Oh yes, we got SNOW. My kids are off from school today--they were off yesterday due to the holiday. I think we got about 9" last week and perhaps and additional 8 or 9" over the course of the day yesterday. My kids are thrilled...as for me, I'm ready for it all to melt!

Glad you have the support of your sisters as you face the challenges with your mother!

Updating Tues Feb 16

Low carbs today, keeping it under 40. Plan to stay low carb (50 or under) until Saturday.

The onslaught of a relentlessly snowy winter and cold temps has taken its toll on my gumption and energy. It feels as though my mind/body thing is covered in cobwebs. I can totally appreciate the seasonal depression thing that afflicts so many people, as I feel that I've become somewhat a victim of it myself.

I find myself digging deeper, finding strength in my soul.

I'll be spending a week at my beloved Marco Island on March 26th, and I'm counting the days...only about a month away. So ready for this break from winter blahs.

The 21's approach from my bicep workout the other day left effective reminders the day following.

Yesterday's workouts:

30 mins cardio
30 mins UB (triceps, delts)
