Quick update for Friday and Saturday

Friday, another low carb day. Upper body splits: Back, biceps.

Saturday was supposed to be a high carb day. That plan got derailed. Getting out of my car in the parking building Friday morning, I "twisted" my knee somehow and it grew progressively more tender throughout the day. I have been babying it, and it's much better, though not back to normal. Couldn't work out as planned on Saturday as a result.

Decided to do a moderate carb day for Saturday. Around 125 carbs. Kept it to cardio (elliptical - low impact), abs and pushups, about 40 mins worth.

Gonna play it by ear today. Today was supposed to have been LB training. May not be ready for that. I'll have to wait and see. If not, I'll train LB via Callanetics. Soft, gentle, effective.

Depending on how I feel midweek, I may go for a high day on Wednesday.

Regardless, this week has been very successful "body comp" wise.

Busy day ahead.

Knees! Good thing the rest of your legs are in such good shape, they can be the support for you until the knee has time to mend.

Lisa, glad you enjoyed the article. And yes, it's easy to drown ourselves for hours at the BB site, reading the articles and stories of inspiration and motivation. Lots of info over there. Lots of transformations. One can't help but be inspired.

Rich, TBF, Lisa, Daisy, HB and Lola...thanks, all of you re my knee. I'm gonna play it smart and wait a few more days before doing LB weight training. It's a little better every day, but I want to be sure before taking several steps backward (literally and figuratively) to let this baby completely heal.

Tried putting a heating pad around my knee in bed last night as I was falling asleep. Felt wonderful. A little awkward trying to keep it held in place to target the outside of my knee while trying to lie on my back. (I was too lazy to get up and get something to secure it) I wanted to read myself to sleep while applying the heat. I think the heat really made a difference; it feels even better this morning.

UPDATING SUNDAY

Low day for carbs. Busy day. Nonstop with stuff all day long. Took my son and his girlfriend out for a late lunch at Outback in honor of his birthday. The plan was to have gone Saturday night, but we had gotten a good bit of snow, and her father wasn't crazy about those two out driving around on the snow and ice-covered roads, esp after dark. Fathers can be that way with their daughters; it's their right.

I ate an early breakfast at 7:30, and because of the crowd, we didn't actually get seated and get our food until 2:30. I was soooo hungry. Don't like to go that long w/o food. It sets me up for overeating for the rest of the day. Short-circuits my blood sugar switch into incessant malfunctions. Wasn't able to track, but I stayed on plan all day with low carb (maybe higher cals though) ... UNTIL I caved and ate a piece of his birthday carrot cake. So...uh....not such a low day afterall. But not worried about it at all. That's the beauty of carb rotations. You can keep on living and never miss a beat.

Got in some cardio around 8:30 last night. I noticed a huge improvement in my stamina. I would have kept going, but I had other things to do and I knew I needed to get in bed. (Might it have been that carrot cake?)

Was able to Skype with Zach last night, and it was good because he was able to see/talk with both his brothers, Gavin being home for the weekend from college to celebrate his birthday. Great to see him and hear him laugh over the miles. Warmed my heart.

My abs were (and are still) VERY SORE from Saturday's ab workout. I'd done the AbRipper 300 for the first time in close to two weeks. Wow. That baby works. I feel like someone has punched me right in the stomach. DOMS also in pecs (from all the pushups).

Successful weekend overall.

Ready for low carb today and Super Callanetics this morning.

Thanks, Dani. It's coming along.
........................................

Lord.Have.Mercy.On.Me. My hunger levels have been OFF THE CHART today. What the heck!
I couldn't get that monster controlled!

Finally, about a half hour ago I was able to hit my satiety button -- after fighting it all daggone day.

Hopefully I'll be back to normal levels tomorrow.

ANNOYING!

Gonna do some cardio later to calm me down. I'd love to take a long walk tonight, but it probably isn't a good idea with ice and snow all over the streets and my knee being a bit unstable.

Long, very busy day in court today. Stressful. Glad the day is over. Yes, some cardio should do me some good. Mondays can be a pain.

TOTALS: (probably a few things I've overlooked not accounted for)

CALS.........1939
PROT..........196
CARBS..........55
FIBER...........17
FAT.............113

WORKOUTS:

SUPER CALLANETICS
CARDIO (later)

Update. I did not do any cardio last night. I was frikkin tired and my butt was incredibly sore from the a.m. workout (Super Callanetics and weighted glute bridges). My body was protesting, wanting rest, and I listened.

I needed humor more, and I got my fix. Watched Big Bang Theory. I love that show! It CRACKS ME UP! Laughed out loud, loud and long at times. Love those giggle endorphins!

Today I'll try to keep my hunger in check. I've just prepared some boiled eggs. Gonna try to do low carb all day from this point forward. I've had a Low Sugar Detour Bar and coffee -- because I need some energy to get through Turbo Jam -- but it's low carb the rest of the day.

Finally got in my highlight last night. Badly needed. Hadn't had one since September! I get a trim after work today. Can't wait.

Bring on the day.
