Yeah, I agree with you about the body recomp thing. It does make a huge difference. I used to be just content with losing weight, but it has really come together for better health and happiness when I started to hit the gym.

UPDATING THURSDAY JAN 7

Glad to feel the soreness in my inner thighs from yesterday's LB training. Today is an all cardio day, lower carbs.

The snow began around 2:50 this afternoon. I left work early to "beat the storm" for my commute home.



The snow continues to fall.

We got snow here, too--kids were off from school today and my son spent loved every minute outside in the snow. I hope they have school tomorrow, though!

I'm getting back on track....glad your muscle aches are getting better!

T...I hope the snow isnt to bad there here everything is at a standstill lol this is the coldest winter in 100 years here and it isnt set to improve for at least the next 10days I hate snow and the cold am staying inside as much as possible Have a super friday

Funny - or not funny - but we had a bit of a snow storm yesterday as well. I met a girlfriend for our after the holidays exchange and a 20 minute trip took nearly an hour and my Jeep Wrangler, in 4-wheel drive no less, swerved a few times on the icy roads.

I thought I should tell you, I was watching the video on the "Tight Muscles" link you gave to me...have you watched that BTW? Check out the very end of the video....he suggests getting two braces for the adductor stretches and, uh, getting that stretch accomplished all in one motion????



I'm just visualizing this. Visualizing someone -- anyone -- walking in on me while I attempted this maneuver. Made me laugh out loud.

GW, TBF & Daisy, YES, it's quite cold here, in addition to that snow. No school today. No court today. I wasn't gonna risk my butt driving that commute to work today with no docket, so I brought some stuff home with me yesterday that I'm working on from home. That works.

I don't mind driving in the snow (I used to live/work/drive in the moutains of WV for almost 20 yrs), but there are a lot of idiots who DON'T know how to drive in the snow at that early hour in the morning for the BIG COMMUTE, and it's a big enuf PIA dealing with them in good weather, much less this stuff.

Gonna tackle the driveway here in a bit, then go for some tea, then wine, then....TGIF.

T - Have a great weekend. We only got about an inch last night. I'm slipping and need to get myself together. Got some issues I'm dealing with and it is stressing me out big time. I will PM you later, if you don't mind me whining to you. Keep telling myself "God only gives you what you can handle, or What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger"

Did not track from dinner forward yesterday, so effectively: I did not track.

But I kept it to low carb, probably 40 or under. Ate higher end on calories.

Yesterday was 1 hour Super Callanetics. When I finished (with a satisfying sigh/groan), my legs/hips had this awesome deep soreness, not in a bad way, a good way, the kind that makes you feel like you could jump to the moon and back, stand taller, reach further, that whole euphoric thing that ya get from doing Callanetcs. Sweet.

Today is a high carb day. My body is so ready for it.

Looking forward to some intense training today.

Just finished my workouts/training. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Medicine, sweet medicine.

On my last order with Netrition, I got a freebie training notebook with my order. I began using it today (seriously). I like its layout. Has a page for each day, covers multiple sets (if needed) for all training, and a place for cardio notes and other misc notes. I think I'll like this.

10 min cardio warmup; 45 mins UB training, pushing out extra reps via pyramids. I had downloaded four new songs couple days ago (lovin Mary J. Blige's THE ONE the most) and burned a new workout CD...it was a big push and mental boost for my workouts.


Followed by 30 mins Turbo Jam Cardio w/weighted gloves. I took the gloves off at the SPEEDBAG/CROSS/HOOK/UPPER CUT segment -- since my arms felt like Jello from the UB training -- and it was like going from steel-toed boots to flip flops! It was amazing how different if felt w/o gloves.

The carbs I've had today have made a mad dash .... and I could definitely feel the effects of the extra energy in the workouts, even after the intense training, I was still in fifth gear, doing the plyo jumps of the turbo segment with no effort at all.

How I needed this today. How I needed this.

Time for my protein pancakes, then a shower, then a manicure, then.... who knows. I plan to pamper myself the rest of the day.

GG, it's the BEST. It's unlike any fitness mag I've ever seen. Not a bunch of hype and crap...just good, solid info and motivation/inspiration. I get all the extra issues with my subscription, and I wouldn't part with ANY of them.

Workouts as stated in previous post.

Add to these totals a handful of pretzel crisps and two small pieces of chocolate before bed (not tracked). There may have been one or two small bites of things I ate that I might have forgotten to track. My goal was to get above maintenance level cals and over 200 carbs.

Back to low carbs today and tomorrow.

SUNDAY JAN 10

I went for a walk today. It wasn't as fast-paced as I would normally walk -- ice all over the streets still, and I had to trod carefully --
but it was good to see the sun shining and to breathe the air, be outside. Walked for about 30 mins.
My hands were numb to the BONE when I returned. My fingers simply would.not.move.

Looking forward to temps in the low 40's by Thursday hopefully.

Updating Sunday's capers. Ate lowfat icecream (Peanut Butter Mania...OMG) before bed last night. What an idiot. Pre-TOM pity and emotions are messing with me. But all things considered, that was a relatively mild attack.

Today I behaved myself. Low day in carbs. Feeling good control/satiety. Good energy.
