HB....

[COLOR="Sienna"]THURS MAY 22

My aim was to keep carbs pretty low today, eat fat as needed to stay full, and let cals fall where they may. Strategy for the day. Control blood sugar! Knowing this was my plan, I allowed myself to have something I've been dying to try -- Burger King's Indie Double Whopper! OMG. Had them put it in a tray with no bun. That was my dinner. Awesome! Love that "kick"....!

Struggling to juggle my full plate of STUFF to do ... life ... and still keep focused on priorities and goals. Sometimes that's quite the challenge..... People are quit to judge. It's my life. It's up to me.

THURS' TOTALS:

CALS 2023

PROT..........152 GR.........31%
CARBS.........21 GR......... 3%
FIBER............8 GR
FAT.............150 GR........ 66%

WORKOUTS:

a.m. - Ab Jam, 18 mins; Turbo Jam Cardio w/gloves, 18 mins. 8 mins inner thigh strength training

p.m. - 15 mins elliptical

I've struggled with hunger all day. And I'm still struggling, though it seems to have let up some in the last few hours. Although I've eaten a lot, it's been clean for the most part, just a lot. But I guess it's okay to have a higher day occasionally, aside from refeeds. We'll see how it shakes out by next Friday.

TOTALS

FIBER..........13 GR

Not good totals, but they're not terrible either.

WORKOUTS:

15 mins Callanetics for hips/thighs; 5 mins plie squats; 2 mins lunges

[COLOR="Sienna"]Didn't use ****** yesterday for refeed day, just tried to wing it, choosing appropriate types of carbs, low to no fat, a bit of protein. I ended up eating far too many carbs, and I know that because of the bloating and discomfort, not because I tracked it. -- but I will from now on! No more winging it on refeed days.

workouts were good

Power90 Track 3/4 - 36 mins
HiPHopAbs Total Body Sculpt - 26 mins
15 mins interval cardio, elliptical

Later in the day:

10 mins cardio, elliptical
75 walking lunges
bicep curls and tricep french press sets, to exhaustion

Eats back in line today. Feeling focused and in control. TOM due tomorrow. I'm not too worried about three days of maintenance level cals in a row. I don't do that often, and I've kept workouts consistent and intense. Should be fine. Majority of today's carbs eaten early and around workouts. Dinner was 9 gr of carbs.

100 oz of water

I think we vastly underestimate the way our hormones dictate our physical; mental; emotional well-being.

Rest up and take care of yourself! Once in awhile this is needed- a step back to basics. You are worth it and deserve it!

That's right. Your body demanded FOOD and your body demanded REST.

YOU demand so much from your body, day in and day out ~ but sometimes you must give in to what your body demands from YOU. That's only fair, no?

Feeling slightly more in control today than yesterday, but TOM hasn't left, so I'm just being patient and vigilant and trying to make wise choices.

No weigh day today....HECK NO. I don't need a scale to confirm what I'm feeling/seeing in my clothes.

Gonna try to keep cals as close to 1600 as I can today, and tomorrow between 1500-1600. Then if I'm successful at that, I'll consider maintenance level cals on Sunday with a higher carb day, but probably not a refeed.

It all depends on my body's signals and reactions between now and Sunday.

At least my energy is back. Thank goodness.

Gigi, you should have a journal! It's hard to track you down!

[COLOR="Sienna"]END OF DAY, FRIDAY, MAY 30

Countdown to vacation......everpresent in my mind, and somewhat annoyed at myself. I hope to make up for lost time in the next 13 days.

I napped after work again. I feel a bit achey in places, probably from doing the Jillian Michaels Shred yesterday evening, it being something new, so my body/muscles were affected differently. So the only workout today was 1 hour of Super Callanetics, and some crunches later in the day.

totals for today:

cals 1722

PROT.........179.........42%
CARBS....... 72.........15%
FIBER.........25
FAT............88..........45%

Not as low as my target, but I tried.

Tomorrow I'll attempt a lower-end refeed. Perhaps a surge of carbs is just what my body needs to regain its vigor/energy.

I had coffee and a bit of carbs (grapes and a bit of lowfat granola) to knock myself out of any ketosis, and I waited for the stampede. It wasn't long, and I felt it coming.

Hey Twyla! Thanks for visiting Yes  I've been hanging at another place for the past almost year but I love it over there and do try to come visit out here when I can... Work is crazy busy for us - which is good/bad ... good for our paychecks, bad for play time.

I've been sticking to my plan and have actually grown some muskels! Kind of fun and DH is liking the effects too hee hee

Hoping that I can help others out without sounding tooo Silly ... You've done so well over the years also ... don't let those hormones get you down. Mine have mellowed out over the years and now I indulge in kava kava when I have a need to smooth my life out ... mostly it works - or I take it out on the weights at the gym
