This week I've switched gears a bit, both workout wise and eats.
Lowered fat a bit, upped carbs a bit, and cut down on cardio, a little more upper body. I actually had one full day of no exercise at all, and it felt good. I ate three s/f Girl Scout cookies on that day, and didn't obsess over it. Waited two days, no gain, actually showed a loss. Once Diamond Deb mentioned to me that we can overtrain. I think I've been so worried about BURNING THE ALMIGHTY CALORIE that I haven't had enuf rest/down time. It's time. Time to rest more. See how it affects things. Today was a great day eats wise. Felt very satisfied all day, no cravings whatsoever. Enjoyed 85% choc (1/2 small square, two different times, with tea) and it was so pleasureable! 1425 cals Fat 76 gr (48%) Carbs 52 gr (11%) Fiber 19 gr Protein 146 gr (41%) If I get hungry before bed, I'll have decaf tea with s/f English Toffee Davinci's.

Yesterday was a higher day, not planned, but that's how it ended up. More cals, more protein, more carbs. Fat somewhat moderate. Turbo Jam and weights, so it was harmless.
Today I began Boot Camp TOM. By drastically cutting carbs and upping fat 4-5 days prior to TOM, my aim is to ward off the hateful cravings before they sneak up on me. I'm ready for 'em! I didn't expect it to be this easy...It's like I jumped off into the Ketosis Ocean almost from the get-go this morning.... Strange but good. Yes, very good.No appetite, no cravings, and energy is very steady. Super C this morning, but not gonna push it with cardio or anything else this evening. Gonna ride this ketosis high and milk it for all it's worth. Induction levels till about this time next week. It's worked before. Hoping it will work again. Chillin' to Chris Botti and enjoying an evening all to myself...Fridays don't get a whole lot better than this. ![]() |

Yesterday's control was fine. My fat was 65% --168 grams!
...carbs, 17 net. Plenty of protein. I succumbed to my Friday ritual of 2 glasses of dry red wine, but those carbs were factored in. And it was worth it. ![]() Day 2 of Boot Camp Tom today. Workouts today completed: 16 mins elliptical 18 mins Ab Jam 22 mins superset upper body weights Last edited by WATCH-ME-SHRINK; 03-08-2008 at 07:24 AM.. |

Day 3 of Boot Camp TOM.
Wow, already day three...the event is drawing ominously nearer, and still no out-of-control cravings or hunger. Yesterday I kept fat high again and ate a lot of calories, so that must have helped with the satiety too. Three more days to go....I can do this. ![]() Saving workouts till this evening, too many commitments during the day today. |

Day Four Boot Camp TOM.
I'm feeling the dreaded ache, bloat and puffiness, but still doing MAHVUHLUS with the satiety. Eating fat can be a very good thing. ![]() In fact, I'm normally rather hungry by this hour, and I've eaten less than I normally do. Part of that is due to no workout this morning....I overslept. Blame it on the time change and my blonde confusion with that. Whatever. It's on the schedule in ink for after work. |

Day Five. The Evil One arrives tomorrow. No fanfare, of course.
Today has been another good day. I've had mod to high cals these last five days, higher fat, carbs starting out very low and increasingly slowly. It's worked so far. I'm thrilled that my hunger/cravings have been under control. So victoriously thankful! I'm anxious to resume normalcy by the end of the week. By then I'll begin a structured cycling plan of 3 days low-mod cals/carbs, 1 day high cal/high carb/low fat. I will probably do the cylce through twice, then see where it puts me. My husband thinks I'm far too analytical over this stuff. He's right, but I'm passionate enuf about it that I don't seem to notice! (Is that a sign of psychosis? )A least my obsession is a healthy one. Better this than a destructive obsession. I feel great this week. Good energy. In control. |

Well.....(hello?)
Is this the quiet before the storm? Today's workout: 1 hour Super Callanetics My butt feels like mush. Did a few different targeted moves yesterday, and that combined with Callanetics, ahhhhh....mush, yes, but I like that ache. High fat once again today. Low carbs. Feeling peculiarly lean today. Wonder what THAT'S about. |

Still waiting for my guest to leave. The baggage accompanying the guest is still here too. Usu leaves about a day or two after the guest leaves.
I'm anxious to start carb cycling this week. Wanted to start tomorrow. I may begin tomorrow regardless. Yesterday was a complete day of rest -- i.e., no workouts at all. I don't do that enuf. I think my body needed it. This morning's workout was wonderful. |

TOM almost gone. Down one pound today, but had gained 3.5 with TOM, so waiting for the rest to leave.
Very sore today from yesterday's workouts, but I never mind it. Today I hope to keep cals between 1500-1600, and carbs around 60-70 net. I'm gonna shoot for 150 gr of protein. The rest will fall where it may. Today's workouts: 32 mins of Turbo Jam; 18 mins of Ab Jam. |

Okay. Tired of waiting on and/or dealing with the scales. Still hanging on to TOM weight, and the numbers are annoying. The pants I tried on yesterday are looser today than yesterday, so IN YO FACE, TOM WEIGHT.
No more weighing till Wednesday of next week. Today is my LC day. Will keep carbs at 30-40 net. Try to keep cals between 1500-1600. Meds for sinus headache due to weather changes. Don't like taking meds, but it's better than a vice-grip. 1 hour of Super C this morning, and a few inner thigh squat sets, and pelvic raise/thrust sets. |

THURSDAY MAR 20
It was very difficult to stay off the scale, but I exercised my better judgment and walked away. My Size 4 dress pants fit this morning very comfortably. That was all I needed to know. Workouts today: 25 mins upper body; 25 mins Turbo Jam EATS TODAY: 1601 CALS FAT 38% ...........(68 GR --!) CARBS 19%.......(92 GR) FIBER 32 GR PROTEIN 42%....(173 GR) Fat lower today than it usu is, and I've noticed I'm a little hungrier than normal, so I'll probably munch on some almonds or nat PB with decaf later if I get hungry...and I have a feeling I will. Tomorrow is going to be moderate cals and carbs again, because I'm not scheduled for a tougher workout. Saturday will be my tougher workout, so that's when I'll plan HIGH cals AND carbs. SATURDAY:
No ****** or tracking AT ALL. Workouts: Turbo Jam, 40 mins. Reposting from another thread just to keep track of this marvel: SUNDAY, MAR 23: OK.....I'm pretty stoked. But bewildered. I had somewhat of a "refeed" day yesterday. We had a birthday celebration, very busy all day, no time to plan meals and/or do ******, so I just ate sensibly, but ate what I wanted, no heed to calories whatsoever, and I'm sure carbs were well over 150. Went to bed feeling kind of guilty about it all....can't help it, it's that complex hangup thing..., and woke up WIDE AWAKE at 4:00 a.m. Was trying to figure out why. Laid in bed for 40 mins wide awake, got up, went on the boards for a while, still amazed at this "surge" of energy I was feeling. Thought I'd take advantage of it while it was here. Didn't want to get so hot/sweaty to have to wash my hair (just washed it yesterday and was having a good hair day), so I decided to do Super Callan. One of the best C workouts I've had in a VERY long time. Hard to explain the intensity. Anyhooooooooo.....don't know if this is just a fluke or what, but I'm wondering if the major UP day yesterday really did stoke the fires and give me the explosion of energy I was (am still) feeling this morning. ???? I'm planning on a normal, lower cal, low to mod carbs today. I may end up crashing and burning later, but time will tell. It's been GREAT WHILE IT'S LASTED! |

![]() The last two days, no ******. Winging it in my head. Back to ****** and meticulous tracking, planning, etc., for the week. Yesterday was a typical Atkins day. No worries to cals, high fat, low carbs. Super Callan early, power walk at 7:30 p.m. for 30 mins. Today ..... we'll see. Got in 27 mins upper body weights and 20 mins of HipHopAbs cardio. |

WEIGH DAY. Down .6 pounds from last week. Not great, but I'll take it.
From now on, my weigh days will be Fridays. I'll be eating a lot of carbs on my up day, which is going to be Sunday, more than likely, so I'll either weigh Fridays or Saturdays from now on, depending. All other days lower carbs, not so low cals. |

FRIDAY. Today is to be my new official weigh day. So I weighed, and I'm one pound lighter than on Wednesday, which is TRULY, TRULY AMAZING, given how many calories I've taken in the last three days! But I noticed last night when I went to bed how lean I felt/looked, and I was bewildered even then....

I sinned and weighed this morning. I don't want to be a scale slave. I really don't. Scales don't tell the true picture. That said, I felt so lean/light going to be last night, and again this morning, that I just had to know. So far this week, since Monday, down 3.2 lbs. I'm shocked, given how many calories I've eaten each day, but I'm also not going to get my hopes up. Fluks are fluks. But if my added cals and combined cyling turns out to be my ticket, I will be forever grateful to those who have had a hand in pointing out the error of my ways.
Gonna go very light on carbs today, high fat, since my refeed is tomorrow. FRIDAY'S TOTALS: CALS 2224 FAT 58%.......... 144 GR CARBS 6%....... 43 GR FIBER ............. 14 GR PROTEIN 26%.. 142 GR ALCOHOL 9% (2nd night out dinner with DH -- no kids!) SUNDAY, MARCH 30. Today I attempt my first refeed. All I've had is coffee. I've planned out a menu. We'll see how it goes.
Since I begin the refeed today and won't weigh until Friday, I decided to go ahead and weigh this morning. Down another .5 lbs. That's about 3.8 lbs since Monday of this past week, or six days. Great progress. So I'm doing a refeed.....why?
