Oh, my, it's the perfect blender. Perfect size (not too big), easy to operate, easy to clean. Has a handy lid to save any leftovers. Great price! (Walmart Online-to-Store)

I made the MOST delicious "espresso" shake this morning after my workout. So good, in fact, that I had another 1/2 shake with breakfast.

The trick, I've learned after a couple tries, is to put enuf water in the blender ALONG with the ice, which helps to pulvarize the ice and thicken the shake MORE. Without enuf water, the ice won't get crushed sufficiently and the shake won't thicken.

OMG. I think I'll just live off protein shakes for a few days.

I give this baby a 10.

Gavin and I will be FIGHTING over this one when he gets home (tomorrow!).
i love making pro ice cream with my magic bullet.. had you ever used that. The pitcher on that looks to be a nice size

happy birthday to your gram! In life or passing, one should always celebrate..

WEDNESDAY TOTALS:

Med day went well. Energy FANTASTIC through about noon. (Might have had something to do with that espresso shake)

DOMS in obliques and a bit still in glutes. More so in obliques. Nailed 'em yesterday.

Stopped for an oil change and state inspection on way home from work. Took longer than anticipated, as I sat in the waiting room, growing sleepier by the minute. Considered asking them if I they could find me a cot in the back and I'd just spend the night there, would gladly turn out the lights and lock up for 'em later. My biggest challenge was driving home in my coma-induced state. Yellow line, Twyla, yellow line, between the lines...atta girl.

Extreme hunger, despite my fatigue. So when I got home, I downed a protein shake and crashed. 1.5 hrs later woke up, out the door for commitments.

Busy day.

Sleeping in tomorrow because I have to have blood drawn -- fasting! BUMMER....NO COFFEE, NO WORKOUTS.

CATCHING UP:

Hey, TBF. Thursday went well. Yes, it did.

Good numbers on Thursday.

Friday was Super Callanetics, some cardio, and abs. A low day in CR.

Saturday, I intentionally decided to do a SUPER HIGH carb day, higher cals, and shake the *ell out of my system. As I mentioned recently to another friend, I began that day with a dose of FUKITOL for good measure, then began my carb up, and proceeded with a fantastic training workout, ending with cardio.

SATURDAY'S TOTALS:
CALS..........2662
CARBS..........382
FIBER.............50
FAT...............59

10 MINS CARDIO WARMUP
1 HR 10 MINS LB TRAINING; + BICEPS, TRICEPS, BACK
30 MINS CARDIO, S/S, FOLLOWING TRAINING

UPDATING SUNDAY:

VLC day in rotations. Mostly eggs, turkey, whey protein, nat PB, coconut oil, a few green beans, celery. Tried to keep cals 1400 or below. Didn't quite make that, but I think the coconut oil jacked them up without me realizing it. But it's good for you. It helps to incinerate fat. Worth it.

Much of Sunday was spent with my mom, up until late in the evening, and I had to get in my cardio before church. So I did 30 mins of cardio, with 6 HIIT intervals laced in toward end of the session. Ab work.

When I got home from Mom's late, I prepared some food for my week, prepared some lean pork to marinade for dinner tonight (x 10 -- GAVIN IS HOME), then read the paper for a couple of minutes before crashing. Went to bed with ZERO bloat from Saturdays very high day.

SUNDAY'S TOTALS:

CALS..........1516
PROT...........155
CARBS...........32
FIBER..............9
FAT...............89

30 MINS CARDIO (WITH INTERVALS)
AB RIPPER 300

Scale is still not my friend but im not worrying about it for now. I will start Turbofire next mth to lean me out right now concentrating on muscles. Running has become my stress relief.

Lisa...OOPS. I meant to get back to you on this. CLICK! That's the one. Yes, it's delicious. I had to adjust the amount. I can't drink the recommended serving, way too strong for me. I'm not a "bold" coffee and/or expresso lover. But I do love the taste. So I mix it with my O.N. Chocolate Coconut Whey, 1/2 serving of click to 1 scoop of the chocolate, with lots of ice/water, and voila...yummy shake. Mine is the Mocha flavor, by the way. And YES, it jacks me up like a spider monkey on Mountain Dew.

Dayuhm, girl! I live and learn, huh?

I gotta admit, in retrospect, the 360+ carbs was AT LEAST what I needed. It wasn't such a "super high day" afterall. No bloat. And feeling leaner yesterday and today than I have in over a week.

Hmmmm.

Rarely is. That scale has a reputation. Make a new set of friends, is my recommendation.

Oh, HOW I can relate to this, my friend. I actually ran a few intervals yesterday morning for the first time since my injury, and at the time, no pain/discomfort. Oh.HOW.liberating. You just cannot beat running for the euphoria. Good for YOU!

I have missed you. (Duh!)

Glad you're back.

Updating Monday

Low day in CR. Second low day in a row. Went well. Hunger manageable. Energy very decent. Took advantage of that energy yesterday morning and ran about 7 intervals on my "power walk," ranging 1-3 at 1.5 minutes, the rest at 2 and 3 minutes. I was in HEAVEN. It was almost emotional, I had missed it so much.

My doc ordered an x-ray of my knee. To see an ortho soon and assess the damage and what should be done about it.

Still a little shocked at the way my body responded to the "super high day" I had on Saturday. Apparently, that was overdue. Mental note to self.

Med/high day today. Training awaits. Needing to spend the night with Mom, so no workouts tomorrow---rest day, maybe some brief cardio after work, time allowing.

TOTALS MONDAY:

CALS..........1705
PROT...........192 (46)
CARBS...........68 (14)
FIBER............20
FAT...............78 (41)

Tuesday updates:

Medium-high day (ramping up the numbers). Went well until mid afternoon, and the hungries descended like a bat outta hell. Bam. Yikes. Didn't pack enuf food with me. I was in the courtroom, stranded (just as well), and gnawing on s/f gum and guzzling water.

Court over, returning to my office....how tempting, when I'm that hungry, to eat the PB Lindt truffles in the candy jar on my desk. Only two left.
How bad could it be to eat two truffles?

Hastily leave the office at the first chance I get. Another bottle of water downed. Hah! Discovered an individually wrapped piece of lowfat Cabot cheese in my purse. Yesss. Food! When I got home, I ate on plan food, and enjoyed some lowfat kettle popcorn. Hit the spot. Within half hour, the hunger is controlled. Busy evening ahead of me. No stopping till my head hit the pillow at my Mom's around 11:00 p.m.

Allowed myself the extra calories, it being a med/high day, feeding my hunger signals.

Woke up this morning feeling lean and calm and all is well.

Back to a VLC day today.

TUESDAY TOTALS:

CALS.....................2129
PROT.......................211
CARBS.....................197
FIBER........................39
FAT...........................65 (27%)

A.M. WORKOUTS:

- 5 MIN CARDIO WARMUP AND STRETCHING
- 50 MINS LB TRAINING; + TRICEPS AND ABS
- STRETCHING

Musing:

My middle son came home last Thursday from college for the summer. He'll be going on vacation with us again this year.

We have spent a lot of time since he's been home talking about fitness and nutrition, our individual goals and focus, swapping training notes. I've helped him plan his macros a little. He's become more diligent with his ****** account. And he loves my new Back to Basics blender (knew he would).

Placed a fresh order for us from Netrition, mostly for him (cha-ching!)

It was gratifying to me that HE commented on my training efforts/results,
mentioning my delt and tricep definition was very noticeable since he last saw me.

(Oh, sweet child 'o-mine! Ya momma loves ya) LOL

Ileen, you were right. I DID need it. And I've also taken "mental" notes on your 600 carb comment.

As for your son/family, all I can say is: How proud they must be of THEIR momma. You have set such a shining example of taking responsibility for your health and fitness.

May 26 Wednesday Update

VLC day in rotations. Hunger controlled.

Noticed shoulder DOMS by mid day, increasing throughout the day. I was surprised, given that Tues morning (day before), I had primarily worked LB and triceps, but I DID do three sets of lateral throws, and I hadn't done them in almost a week. THEN just before leaving the house Tues evening to meet with some people for singing, I thought: I have about 8 mins to kill, I'll do some concentrated delt work. I did two exercises, supersets, to fatigue, beginning with light weights and working up. Worked up a very light sweat. Done. Over with.

Interesting that I would feel very noticeable muscle soreness there.

My goal was to be in bed by 10:00 last night. Missed it by about 25 mins. 10:25 pm.

TOTALS:

CALS............1583
PROT.............165
CARBS............44
FIBER.............10
FAT................82 (46%)

32 MINS S/S CARDIO (with two short intervals)

It's been very warm the last week or so, more like summer temperatures than spring. I'm finding that early morning and late in the evening are my favorite times of the day now, when things are cooler, calm, serene -- beautiful.

Mesmerizing.

On my early morning power walk, as I looked up approaching the pond just to the south of the driving range, a beautiful orange sunrise was smiling onto the surface of the pond -- oh.my. -- so breathtaking. And I DIDN'T have my camera.

After I made it back to the house, I grabbed my cell phone (couldn't find my camera), and drove back there, hurrying before it got too far up into the sky. It wasn't QUITE as beautiful as when I first saw it, but I captured the moment nonetheless.

So made my cardio this morning.

Thurs May 27 Update

Was to have been a low day, ended up being a medium day. Tracked up until dinner time. Felt unsatisfied and very hungry, so I ate some shredded wheat with skim milk and some Carb Master yogurt, few bites of LC chocolate stirred in. Weird cravings mixed with hunger. Whatever.

Oh, well. New day.

Gonna try to do another low today. A little low on energy, so maybe I needed those carbs. Not sweating it.

Callanetics and cardio today.

WORKOUTS THURSDAY:

30 MINS CARDIO
10 MINS ABS
10 MINS BICEPS

TBF, .

Stopping in my journal long enough to say I'm likely gonna be "unplugging" for a while. Things have gotten more hectic with my mom, and that, in addition to normal life demands, is more than I can handle right now.

I'll be back eventually. Taking some time away from the boards for a while is inevitable.

That said, I will not lose focus from my game in the meantime. Besides, my son is home now, and he'll most likely keep me straight if I even THINK about trying to slide by.

But for now, life duty calls.

Off to do some training.
