MONDAY MAR 8

Although today was to have been a low carb day, my inner body signals were telling me two things: I needed more carbs and more calories. I'm zapped. No energy. I overslept this morning, and even with the extra sleep, I couldn't get going.

I ate clean carbs, good choices, but upped it to a moderate carb day and got my cals up close to 1900 range.

The fatigue I've been feeling the last several days has to represent more than just having extra stress/worry/emotions to deal with. I think I need to listen to my fuel needs as well. Adjust up, adjust down. As needed. It's a lesson I've learned in the not-too-distant past, but can be easily forgotten when in the "diet" frame of mind.

More cardio this week on the menu as well.

Operative word today: Cruise control.

Quote:
"Cruise is designed to reset the central nervous system.
It is a great way to revamp the body,
light weights, slow steady state cardio,
and more days at maintenance."

TOTALS

CALS.................1898
PROT..................188 40%
CARBS................146 28%
FIBER...................23
FAT......................75 35%

WORKOUTS:

60 MINS CARDIO
10 MINS P90 AB RIPPER

Hi Twyla
I had the same issue yesterday, LOL. It was supposed to be LC, but, I felt the same way. I needed a recharge. I did LBWO, and I really blasted my butt. Walking lunges with a 5 count pulse on each step. I feel like I'm just not getting much out of my workouts. My legs still look squishy and giggly. I had a little over 2000 calories and 156 total carbs.. I'm really trying not to get a sluggish metabolism, or I should say. I am trying to repair my damaged metabolism. LOL that poor thing has been dealing with my shenanigans for a long time, and now I'm in healing and repair mode.

I'm sure that all the emotions and stresses are effecting you.. I wish I had some inspiring words to help you feel better. My poor mom went though a very hard time during my Grandpas last days, we all did.
After his passing, I felt this amazing euphoric sense of well being. I knew that the Holy Spirit was comforting him, and HE helped me feel that. Also, I was trying to imagine what his new LIFE was like... Awww,, grammpy..

I hope that wasn't depressing. I was getting goose bumps as I was typing that.

Today I am planning on doing Lower carbs. Its HIIT/cardio day and I know that on these days I get really hungry.

Jami, intense LB training is always a huge drain on my energy. That's why I chose to do a rest day on Sunday following Saturday's LB training. Jacking cals up sometimes is in order, particularly if you're listening to your body's signals for that fuel. No harm done. Backing down to LC for a few days will reboot everything.

Your shared sentiments on your Grandpa does NOT depress me. I find that I welcome others' experiences in dealing with these types of "valleys." It helps me put it in perspective and galvanizes my courage and inner strength.

Awww,, I'm glad to hear that. I feel like your sense of humor has been really helping ME lately! You are so funny.... I think that we have the same type of humor in certain ways.
I have been dealing with some personal issues with work... ugh! I have been trying to stay positive. No big deal, but it helps to visit with people who keep me happy!

Morning solitude.

Why is it that that first sip of coffee is always the BEST? In fact, the whole first cup goes down like liquid gold. Is that because I'm a caffeine addict? I suppose it is. Who cares. Coffee is positively medicinal and therapeutic, and oh such a pretty color, and yummy aroma, and socially acceptable...the list goes on. Love my java.

Didn't get to post updates yesterday evening. Hugely busy evening, right up until an hour past my bedtime. It was Bunco night, for starters, and that took up most of my evening. I welcomed the distraction of friends and laughter. Was hoping for a glass or two of wine, but the hostess doesn't drink (I didn't know that) and it was a dry bar. Oh. I ate a few bites of LC snacks, and I can't accurately log my totals with cals, but I was at 35 carbs when I left for the party, so likely no more than 50 tops for the day; and cals at around 1700.

Today is a very busy day in court. Our morning docket is ridiculous. There's no way we can get through it and still get a lunch break. I have transcripts to finish, business errands to run, and we're in bad need of groceries.

Big breath. I'll get it done somehow.

Gonna stay LC probably through Friday.

WORKOUTS TUESDAY:

45 MINS CARDIO (Turbo Jam w/weighted gloves)

I totally agree with the first cup being liquid gold...it's my reason for getting out of bed!

Just had to come in here and see how you are doing T, and offer more hugs for you and your mom...

Oh, and by the way??? I received my first Oxygen yesterday...OMG...I've never seen such beautiful and inspiring women and what a whole lotta inspiration and information! Thank you so much for recommending it! Of course, now I'm totally overwhelmed--hit my goal weight and now have to focus on not being 'skinny fat'. That is a challenge.

Breathe, Twyla, Breathe!

I feel this exact way. The first few sips of my perfect, lovely coffee. I now drink out of a HUGE mug just because a second pouring of coffee isn't nearly as good at that first one.

I look forward to it every morning!

Hey Twyla! I loved reading about your momma's garden and her wanting good food like yours. That made me smile.

I spoke with T earlier today and she is doing as well as expected. However between all of her obligations time is limited, so she might be missing from the forum until her schedule allows her return.

To all of you who have been so kind in your support to me, your hugs, thoughts, prayers.... wow.... thank you so very much.

My mom needs me more than ever now, and trying to juggle life with her needs is a tall order. The last couple of weeks have been very stressful and hectic, to say the least.

As a result, I have not had the mental energy to visit the boards, much less post. My posting will be very sporadic for a while.

One thing is for certain. Keeping myself strong and focused with clean eating and staying active, training -- this has been my SANITY. It has kept me strong and focused and uplifted and restored. This is one time in my life when I can't afford to NOT take good care of myself.

I've stayed on plan, tracked, and have kept up with my workouts and training. I plan to continue.

I'll post as often as I can.

Thank you so very much, all of you, for your expressions of love and support to me. It is so very meaningful.
