HB.... ![]() THURS MAY 22 My aim was to keep carbs pretty low today, eat fat as needed to stay full, and let cals fall where they may. Strategy for the day. Control blood sugar! Knowing this was my plan, I allowed myself to have something I've been dying to try -- Burger King's Indie Double Whopper! OMG. Had them put it in a tray with no bun. That was my dinner. Awesome! Love that "kick"....! Struggling to juggle my full plate of STUFF to do ... life ... and still keep focused on priorities and goals. Sometimes that's quite the challenge..... I've struggled with hunger all day. And I'm still struggling, though it seems to have let up some in the last few hours. Although I've eaten a lot, it's been clean for the most part, just a lot. But I guess it's okay to have a higher day occasionally, aside from refeeds. We'll see how it shakes out by next Friday. REFEED DAY MERCY, AM I GLAD WENT FOR THE REFEED. I ALMOST FORGOT THE SURGE OF ENERGY I GET FROM THE HIGH GI CARBS....I BUSTED *SS FOR OVER AN HOUR WITH WEIGHT TRAINING. FUELED UP A BIT, AND I KNOW I COULD GO ANOTHER HOUR. I LOVE THIS FEELING!!!!!!!!! GONNA GO CLEAN/BLEACH THE BACK PORCH AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SUNSHINE. FEELING AWESOME. |

Didn't use Fitday yesterday for refeed day, just tried to wing it, choosing appropriate types of carbs, low to no fat, a bit of protein. I ended up eating far too many carbs, and I know that because of the bloating and discomfort, not because I tracked it. -- but I will from now on! No more winging it on refeed days.
workouts were good Power90 Track 3/4 - 36 mins HiPHopAbs Total Body Sculpt - 26 mins 15 mins interval cardio, elliptical Later in the day: 10 mins cardio, elliptical 75 walking lunges bicep curls and tricep french press sets, to exhaustion |

Very busy day, lots going on, and M/D party at the golf club later in the evening, so I ended up overdoing it with cals. Had wanted to keep a deficit. Eats back in line today. Feeling focused and in control. TOM due tomorrow. I'm not too worried about three days of maintenance level cals in a row. I don't do that often, and I've kept workouts consistent and intense. Should be fine. Majority of today's carbs eaten early and around workouts. Dinner was 9 gr of carbs. 100 oz of water TOTALS CALS 1735 PROT............179 GR.............41% CARBS...........55 GR............ 11% FIBER............15 GR FAT................91 GR.............47% Workouts: a.m. - 1 hour of Super Callanetics afternoon - 21 mins of HIIT elliptical (8 intervals, 1/2 ratio); 4 sets of 15 pushups, 10 sec break in between sets 25-min power walk scheduled for later tonight...relaxing weather...taking advantage of it! ![]() |

HB, you're right....we underestimate the horrid effects of the dreaded hormones!
But as I just mentioned to another friend.... R E S I L I A N C E. It can make all the difference in the world. I'm back up on my feet today. Determined as hell. ![]() No workout this morning. Still recovering from exhaustion. Hugged the coffee pot for a while, pondered the morning sun, my blessings. Showered. Dressed. Planned my meals. Ate breakfast. Packed my lunch. Drove to work. Feeling slightly more in control today than yesterday, but TOM hasn't left, so I'm just being patient and vigilant and trying to make wise choices. No weigh day today....HECK NO. I don't need a scale to confirm what I'm feeling/seeing in my clothes. ![]() Gonna try to keep cals as close to 1600 as I can today, and tomorrow between 1500-1600. Then if I'm successful at that, I'll consider maintenance level cals on Sunday with a higher carb day, but probably not a refeed. It all depends on my body's signals and reactions between now and Sunday. At least my energy is back. Thank goodness. ![]() |

END OF DAY, FRIDAY, MAY 30 Countdown to vacation......everpresent in my mind, and somewhat annoyed at myself. I hope to make up for lost time in the next 13 days. I napped after work again. I feel a bit achey in places, probably from doing the Jillian Michaels Shred yesterday evening, it being something new, so my body/muscles were affected differently. So the only workout today was 1 hour of Super Callanetics, and some crunches later in the day. totals for today: cals 1722 PROT.........179.........42% CARBS....... 72.........15% FIBER.........25 FAT............88..........45% Not as low as my target, but I tried. Tomorrow I'll attempt a lower-end refeed. Perhaps a surge of carbs is just what my body needs to regain its vigor/energy. |
