Induction is actually going to make me eat MORE carbs than normal. Hoping that will work. Half way through day one and I'm starving. I'm NEVER hungry- strange.

I just got back from the doc office. Apparently I had a followup ultrasound scheduled for today anyway- I had forgotten about it until they called an hour before to remind me! I do have another cyst on my left ovary that is causing the pain. My doc is out of town, so I'll see what he has to say next week I guess. I don't think there is anything they can do about it though.

Not much on my calender for today. I have to go back to the fire dept to get them to put my car seat in- this one was almost $300 so it better be a good one!
Still no scale for me- I'm going to try to go the entire 2 weeks of this induction challenge before weighing and measuring again. Eats for yesterday: 2 cups coffee 6 oz steak w/ 2 oz cheese/ 1/2 cup cucumbers and 1 tbs ranch 4 oz venison and 1 slice cheese 2 pork chops with 1.5 cups sauted veggies I had over 100 oz water and 3 sodas. I went on a long walk too. I'm actually much more hungry on induction levels (which are higher for me) than when I'm eating less (less cals/carbs/fat). Do you think that is a good sign? I'm trying to stick with the "no food after 7pm rule", that is really tough for me.

If I don't eat after 7 then I would go over 12 hours without eating and I don't lose weight when that happens. My body goes into starvation mode...so I try and have some protein close to bed time.

You have a very handsome couple of guys there! Kyle is growing and getting into all kinds of stuff. I remember that when my boys were little. They are 8 and 11 now..that handful part just keeps getting more and more complicated. Matt my 11 yr old has gotten into the faze of how does everthing work and can he take it apart and put it back together and will it still run! lol

Alex- my DH was like that as a child so I'm expecting the same with Kyle!
Menu for Sunday: B- 1 cup coffee L- 2 fajita tacos in lettuce wraps, 2 spoonfuls of salsa D- large taco salad w/ no shell, unmeasured amount of queso and salsa (eaten by spoon!) S- 10 raw peanuts (not an induction food, but I couldn't resist. I've thrown the rest of them away so I will not eat them again.) I had too much dt. soda. quite a bit of water tool. I have a busy day planned. Working right now (well, should be anyway), then to our play group at 10am then I'm going to go to 24 hour fitness (a gym) and look at membership options. The idea of joining a big gym has always scared me, but the idea of giving Kyle to someone else for an hour a day while I do somthing for myself sounds great! And that alone would probably motivate me to work out a lot- I'd me at goal in no time. The money is the only issue. I'm broke. Also, I've really been thinking lately of going BACK to school. I am going to look into getting my teaching certification and teaching high school. I'm going to call the dean at the local college to set up a meeting about what that would involve. I wouldn't have to do too much since I have a masters, they just require a certification process and a year of paid student teaching. I jsut want to talk about what I could teach, etc. My dad is giving me a hard time that I would be "wasting" my education by being a teacher. How is that exactly? I don't get it. My mom is supportive as is Ron. I might try subing this year to see if I even like being in the classroom in that capasity (we all know I love being a student!) except I don't know what to do with Kyle. I wouldn't sub every day and so I don't know what type of care I could find with him that would be that flexible and wouldn't cost me a ton. |

If you join the gym you might meet other mom's that keep children in their home. Someone who doesn't want to keep him everyday might be willing to keep him on the days you sub.

I'm keeping my eye out for someone I'd trust.
Eats for Monday 7/10: 2 cups coffee 2 slices turkey with 1 slice cheese and dab of mayo chicken fajitas (grilled chicken, cheese, and sour creaw) with no tortillia 2 chicken thighs (Linda Sue's Seoul Chicken), 2 cups brocolli 1 burger patty with 2 slices cheese, jalapenos and 1 tbs ranch Very hungry again today. Yesterday not so much. Strange. I still feel like I'm in ketosis, breath and pee are good indicators saying so, but the hunger is much greater when I eat more. Is that a good metabolism thing? We'll see if the scale is good to me next week. It is a good experiement nonetheless. Induction isn't too hard- just eating only what is on the list and putting a measured limit to the veggies. I lost 70lbs last time (in 4.5 months) on basic induction- a little lower at times, but basically induction. No cheating- no cheats for a year actually. This week will be four months I've been cheat free (unless you count the peanuts- which I probably should!). I was down 70lbs last time in that time. I'm only down about 25 this time. That's a little frustrating, but at least it is 25 down and not up! I'm still almost 60lbs down from my highest. That's a good thing. I must be in the mood for reflection tonight! lol I got a new work out DVD that I'm going to try tomorrow. Still hoping to join a gym in the near future with a child care center so I can take the baby. that will help a ton I know. |

Good morning girls! Everything good here. I was up late with DH "discussing" life- and our plan for the future. He is wanting to set some goals and I just can't seem to think long term. This is a total switch in our personalities. But I think he is probably right, we need to. We are going to start with a financial plan to pay off some bills and then move on to a five year location plan (where are we going to move to). I'm not sure that can be an arbitrary decision since we really want to make a major move- we will have to do some traveling to decide that. But I feel good that we are making progress.
I read all the info that the YMCA gave me and I'm SOOOOO pumped. Hoping this motivation will get me on a good start. They offer a FREE 8 week program for people like me. You meet with a trainer 4 times, the first they get to know you, your goals, your likes/dislikes, talk about your motivations and your road blocks, etc. Then they put you on a program and monitor your success every 2 weeks. All the machines are digital and record everything you do, and you log in everytime you work out so you are held accountable for what you are/aren't doing. It starts with cardio, then introduces resistance training. I'm going to sign up and have my first meeting next week (unless I can get in on Friday). I can stay at the gym for 2 hours (that is how long they will watch Kyle). I could have a good workout, take a dip in the pool (and get some sun) and then take a SHOWER and blow dry my hair! So excieting. Menu for Tuesday- 7/11 2 cups coffee w/ splash of mootopia and davinchi 1.5 grilled burger patties, 1 slice cheese, mayo 3 chicken thighs Linda Sue's Chunky Chicken soup (WOW! YUM- I omited the carrots and no cream) http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/chu..._veg_soup2.html More of the soup 1 tbs natural peanut butter (no salt/sugar- just peanuts) I threw out the nuts but not the butter- bad me. I was really hungry yesterday. If I actually lose weight in these two weeks I'm going to be a total believer in the starvation mode. I just don't see calorie wise how I will be able to lose eating so much food. We'll see. I'm not going to freak out no matter what the scale says next week. I also will measure again and compare that. Strange that I actually FEEL thinner........ Of course going now over 2 months with no TOM is probably adding to that- no bloating! lol. |

Just a quickie before bed: Eats for Wednesday 7/12:
B: 3 chicken thighs, 2 cups coffee L: 2 pork chops S: 2 slices cheese/ 2 oz venison, later a cup of coffee D: london broil w/ onions and peppers, steamed veggies w/ butter, 1 dt coke I went to the Y today and did about 40 min worth of cardio. I was exploring, so I didn't have a hard workout, but it was fun. Kyle was good in the nursery and I felt very comfortable. They ahve the COOLEST water park for kids there and a huge rock climbing room (3 stories) in the middle of the lobby. A lap pool, a sauna. I plan on working out for an hour, then taking a dip while doing some laps in the pool, laying out for 30 minutes, and maybe getting in the sauna tomorrow. I think I'll be there a lot. I could just go lay out by the pool for 2 hours if I wanted to! lol We went to my mom's for dinner and she is super happy over her new dog. Brie is a sheep dog- 2 years old- rescued from the pound. She will be a great compainion for my mom. |

Menu for Thursday 7/13:
1.5 cups coffee, 1.5 grilled burger patties w/ 1 slice cheese 2 pork chops w/ 1 tbs lc bbq 1 cup coffee large salad w/ tbs sun flower seeds, 5 okra, 2 tbs ranch, 2 slices cheese 1.5 tbs peanut butter large dt coke, and a good amount of water. My exercise was a really long walk (like 3 hours) at the mall pushing the baby (mostly walking very little shopping) ALthough I did buy the best little black dress. Very sexy, halter top, very fitted. Looks good now and hoping by the end of the month it will look better for a surprise for Ron. He will love the dress- just the style he likes. i debated buying it but my mom had given me some cash and it was on sale 75% off so I got it for less than $30 and it is a great go-to dress! This not weighing is driving me crazy. I'm so worried that I'm not losing or actually gaining and not knowing it. BUt it is good for me. Just a few more days. I'm going to lunch with Barry today (stepdad) and to meet with the accountant. Then the the gym. |

I just got caught up on your journal. I haven't been reading much- busy with school, work, and trying to get some weight off.
![]() First of all, Kyle is so adorable (and you and Ron are pretty cute too! ) All the newer pictures show how much he is growing but my FAVORITE is still the second one from the bottom- the close up. It cracks me up every time! I also really like the Summer Baby pictures. Sorry to hear that he learned how to scream. That must be super fun! ![]() I'm glad to hear you're getting some me time at the Y. That 8-week plan sounds awesome! And two hours a day...wow. That must be so nice. You're right, you'll be at goal in NO TIME! Woo! ![]() Now about this whole going back to school thing. I think it sounds like a great idea! What are your original degrees in? Finance or accounting or something like that, right? What about teaching college? At my school, a full-fledged university, you can only teach with a master's if you're working toward a PhD but there are several community colleges around here that allow people who have master's degrees to teach. I'm a teaching assistant right now and teaching computer science labs. I love it so much that I'm actually considering going the community college route to teach. Maybe you should look into that? I think it would be better money, more flexible hours (b/c maybe you could just teach one class if you wanted), and a totally different environment. I can't even imagine teaching high school. I suppose that's because I remember being in high school. Some of those kids can be total jerks. College students (typically) are there because they choose to be. That's just my thoughts though. Hope everything is going well for you. I'll try to keep up with you better. ![]()

I've been MIA- a lot going on around here. I don't have a ton of time this AM, but I'll be back this afternoon and fill in with the happenings!
My two week induction is done with good results! I'm down five lbs to 183 and- GET THIS- 4.5 inches GONE! 1/2 and inch each from my bust, arm, and thigh, and one inch each from high waist, mid torso, and hips! I'm thrilled! I'm sticking with induction levels for awhile! |

I've been SUPER busy. Family in town, a death in a friend's family. I haven't been eating really great- nothing illegal (well, that's not true- I had bourbon chicken the other day
) but just not really watching it very well. Next week I hope to be back onn track 100% |

Tom is over and for the first time in a while I feel 100% NORMAL! Yeah! I still think I'll not try for another month or maybe two. Ron's company is taking everyone to Hawaii in March (all expenses paid!) And I really want to go! Not more than I want a baby....but really want to go! I could go if I'm not in my third trimester by then....unless the next pregnancy is like the first and then I couldn't leave from day one. So for evey month that I'm not preggo I'm going to say "one step closer to goal and there is still Hawaii".
I'm doing well. Met with the trainer at the Y yesterday to start the program. I wanted a little more hand holding but I guess you don't get that for free. I think it will work for me though- she'll monitor me so I will use that as motivation to log in as many minutes as I can. I only do cardio for 2 weeks then go back for an eval and start weights. They have a machine called YFIT that you log into everytime you go and record what you do, it tracks how many miles you go, how many minutes you do, how many calories you burn, etc. You can even log in extra activities (like walking ans swimming) that you may have done at home. It is pretty cool. Ron is not taking the sales job- not a good fit. He did change neighborhoods with his current job. I'm trying to be positive about the change- good for him I think. I am just ready for some money to start coming in so we can get out from under the rock. I'm looking forward to my weekend away (well, not really away so much as just alone!) Hope everyone is doing great! |

We had a wonderful time this weekend on our little get away. It was just what we needed, lots of relaxing and very romantic
. It was so nice to just be with DH again with nothing else to think about- and we only called to check on Kyle a handful of times! I didn't eat too too bad- some fruit, some wine, a LC wrap and a few calamari. Other than that did good. I will not get on the scale this week though, I'll be good this week and check my weight next week. Here is me in my little black dress. ![]() |

Doing good- feel 100% back on track this week. |

been super busy. Kyle is getting over his green snotty nose and his first tooth poped through this morning! He isn't so happy about it.
I weighed today for the first time in 3 weeks and I'm exactly the same at 183. Down 3 inches. How does that happen? |

I'm obsessed with the scale I know- but I HATE the huge number!
I'm going back to writing here what i eat. That worked the first two weeks. For bkfast I made tuna patties. Nothing new but I haven't had them in YEARS. I took a can of tuna, a tbs of mayo, old bay, parm and mozz cheese, celery, onion, and an egg. Pan fried in a little butter. dipped in a little mayo, dill relish and a tsp ketsup. yummooo! |
