YVONNE'S 2nd time around Journal

OK... its May 10th.. 2 weeks since I got back on track and lost 2.5 lbs. Never thought it would be this hard this time around. First time it was a breeze....well for the first few months anyway.

It's not that I'm not motivated... I am. I know this works... or at least it did back then when I lost 40 lbs... But that was 3 yrs ago and I was 3 years younger. I am now 43, pre-menopausal and seems everything on me is falling apart. I guess I am feeling my age.

Being part of this website has brought me support and keeps me going but I wish my body would do the same... "get with the program".

For me its stress. Not that I eat more or eat "bad" foods ... my body reacts badly. Like those commercials about Cortisol... I truly believe that I have that problem.

If you look at my body... luckily I was blessed being in proportion for the most part but most of my weight.. the gain over the last year of 10 lbs ... went right to my gut... waist/tummy. This morning I was totally upset to find that my Todd Oldman jeans .. well I couldn't button the darn waist. How could this be when they fit 2 months ago?

TOM is ending and I don't feel "bloated" as I did earlier in the week so I guess I'm just a bit frustrated that things this time around are going so slowly for me Fitday keeps my food intake logged so I know its not that.

Maybe LCing won't work for me this time around I truly hope that is not the case.

TUESDAY MAY 16TH

OK, so I have been eating well but my water consumption is not great especially on weekends. I have lost nothing... nada.... since the initial 3 lbs which has now become 2 lbs. I feel bloated all the time.. I am retaining water... so I am wondering if there is an underlying problem that I am unaware of that is causing me not to lose and making me so bloated? Friend said its due to being on verge of menopause although my periods have been regular .. yet I am 43. Who knows.

I have an Oncologist appointment today who will most likely send me for some tests ... I guess my biggest fear is that he will find something. I can deal with Menopause but Cancer ... nada.

Today's menu is simple Eggs w/coffee in the a.m., nice salad with meat & cheese for lunch, taco salad for dinner. I must drink more water!

Stress is at it's optimum right now.... from every angle. Stress is my killer.

Doing well.. down a pound. Basically just eating less and having a shake for either breakfast or dinner. I'm getting the water down too which is also helping. It's Memorial Day weekend and basically we are not doing anything other than having a small BBQ tomorrow. Went out last night with the girls after work and had a few light beers and of course this morning I feel a bit bloated --- will work it off today. Have some home repairs and then will lay out in the sunshine since it is suppose to be in the upper 70s/low 80's.

Two of my larger tomato plants have flowers meaning tomotos will be here soon. Onions are growing very nicely too... looks like "grass" Pepper plants are growing slowly but nicely as well.
