My weight loss journey

ok so I am going to start doing a journal as a way to help keep my self focused. this is like the 3rd time I've tried to low carb, but this time, something feels different, I really feel that this time, I am determined. I have made it thru induction phase and have been in ketosis for two weeks now, I have lost 11lbs but actually gained 1/2 everywhere, bummer, anyways, I am up to walking 2 miles a day and actually think I might be getting kinda addicted to that, I am drinking 2.2liters of water everyday, and staying well with in my limits of carbs, actually I'm still just eating meats, cheese eggs & salad, it's what I like and what works for me.
feeling ok today, was kinda bummed when I got measured for a bridesmaid dress, but I am trying to get over that, I just kept insisting that they would need to alter by the time october gets. I am now at 210lbs, I hope to be around 200 by July1st.
Wish me luck! and of course any words of wisdom are always appreciated.

Hey Trina . By the time October gets here you'll definitely have to have them take that dress in!!! Keep your motivation and determination going and you will succeed. Take any challenges and obstacles you face and turn them in to lessons learned and use that energy to get to GOAL!!!

I wish you all the best in your journey! If you are committed and really ready to buckle down and do this... YOU WILL DO IT!!!

Woke up this morning to RAIN, yuck I hate that I didn't feel like walking in the rain so I got up and went down to the gym and used the eliptical machine, burned 260 calories doing that, so that made me feel pretty good, I didn't dare weigh myself today, don't want any disappointment. Planning on bacon and eggs for breakfast, tried something new for supper last night, I made the family taco's, well I bought some romaine lettuce and used that as my taco shell, didn't add any tomatoes, anyways it was kinda crunchy and somewhat tasted like a taco and it filled me so I think I am going to try a couple of those for lunch today, and I have not figured dinner yet. got my 2.2 liters of water started, so her I go off for another day. talk to someone soon.
stats
210
chest - 44 (ok today it says 43)
waist - 39 (another ok today its 37????)
hips - 49
thigh - 28 1/2
arm 13 1/2

not sure of the difference in measurements that were taken yesterday other than the woman who took them may have placed her tape measure in a different spot, so I will try to keep measuring myself.

Sounds great, Trina!!! KUTGW!!! I love taco salad when others have the tacos. They usually make me retain a bit of water because the mix has tons of sodium, but we sure do enjoy taco night!!!

Keep focused and try setting mini-goals and rewards up for yourself... When you break the journey into smaller milestones, it adds validation that is very motivating!!!!

Have a great day!!!

May 11th, another dreary day, my scale broke, the new one I bought was broken, so I am taking this as a sign that perhaps I need to hold off on weighing myself. went to the gym again today, and did 1/2 hour on eliptical, getting ready for breakfast, clothes feel looser but I don't know, My birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks, I'll be turning 40 Mel said I should set a mini goal for myself, SO

200 - 10lbs - Get my hair done
190 - 20lbs - Tanning
180 - 30lbs - Go out to hear my favorite band play
170 - 40lbs - Take my DH's motorcycle for a ride
160 - 50lbs - buy some NEW clothes

that's as far as I dare take it right now. I just want to reach that 200, I am really struggling with my bridesmaid dress situation. the lady wants me to order a size 22 because my hips are 49, problem is that dress has bust of 47 1/2 and right now I am a 43, the next dress size down is a 20 which has a bust of 45 and hip of 48, now I think that realistically, going at the rate I am I should get the size 20, only because if I stay with the 22 I am already needing to take in 4 1/2", I think that will start to take away from the dress, another thought I had is that we are going to be raising the dresses to an empire waist which right there means more hip room.
anyone have any thoughts????

GET THE SIZE 20!!! I'm telling you... You won't regret it!!! If you do, you have to PROMISE that you'll keep coming here you WON'T go off plan (at least until after the wedding)... I will promise you if you stick to it you WILL ABSOLUTELY lose the pounds and inches by the wedding and that dress - they will be taking it in even more!!!

My hips measured 48-1/2 when I started at 220, and 4 and a half months later they are down to 40"!!! And guess what... I haven't even been exercising!!! Which means, you have even a BETTER chance of them being smaller while you continue to lose and exercise!!!

I'm telling you... if you are willing to commit everything you have to this - YOU CAN AND WILL do this!!! PROMISE!!!!! (Heck, I'm 1/2 tempted to tell you to get the 18!!!)

BTW - Your goals ROCK Keep focused, devoted and commited to doing this and it can and WILL work for you!!!

Ok I'm gonna call the dress shop today and tell them to order the 20, I know the woman will give me a hard time, but I really feel it deep down inside that it is the best thing to do. Thanks for your help Mel, it really is nice having someone that I can share things with.

Tell this woman at the dress shop that her job is to ORDER the dress... and that you would appreciate her doing her job (Just kidding... but you can think it while she's giving you grief!!!)

Like I said... the wedding is in October...by then, the only thing she will need to worry about is how to take that dress in another size!!! Cause you are going to be shrinking like crazy these next 5 months!!!

ok here it is officially
size 20 dress is
bust 45 1/2
waist 36 1/2
hip 47

size 22 dress is
bust 48
waist 39
hip 50

me today is
bust - 43
waist - 37
hips - 48 3/4

so I called up the lady and said I want to order the size 20 dress, she dried to tell me in all her 20 years of dieting that I could be making a mistake, and I told her that I was really half tempted to order the 18, but I don't want to be to daring so I want the 20......and so it shall be, and I'm just going to be that much more deligent to get my inches DOWN!!!!

Well yet again another rainy day! this is getting old, anyways, did good eating yesterday and drank plenty of water, not sure if it was the hot wings I had for lunch or the visit from the Woosh fairy, but I lost 2 lbs overnight, I know this because I bought another new scale yesterday, came home and weighed, still same weight as I had been for past week. wokr up at 5:15 this morning and headed to the gym, did eliptical for 30 min, went 2.25 miles and it said I burned 303 calories! Now that is a way to start the day.I cannot even begin to explain how good I feel inside, I don't know if it is because I am finally seeing weight loss, eating low carb, or what, but I'm not dragging, Usually I am dog tired at 9:00 at night and can't get myself out of bed in the morning at 6:30, but this week....up till 11-12 and right back up by 5:30. anyways I'm rambling to myself.
what I ate yesterday
b - 1 egg & bacon
l - hot wings and celery
d - beef & chicken stir fry with peppers and celery

started today with a different b-fast, we will see how it goes had an omelet with peppers and ham and cheese, pretty yummy!!!
ok well until later!

That's AWESOME Trina . I'm so happy for you!!! For me, hot wings are my little "miracle food". Every time I eat them I'm down the next day!!! Most people gain with them, but for some reason, I'm not one of them. Yummm, makes me want some for lunch today

I'm glad you are able to stick your ground with getting exercise at the gym and to make it known that you are doing this for YOU!!! I think a lot of times people try to do this because of what others say or think or things like that, and it's not "truly" for themselves. It's when a person gets to there that they will succeed. You have to love yourself enough to do this for yourself and a lot of us neglect ourselves because we are always taking care of others or coddling their needs. Good intentions, but until we realize that making ourselves better will actually allow us to take care of others better, it's hard to succeed.

I'm glad you are there and I'm THRILLED you are doing so well! Your menu today looks great! (Drink lots of water though, stir fry and wings could have you retaining some water in the a.m. - not that you shouldn't eat these things, just keep a mental note and know when you get on the scale not to get frustrated...it's just water!)

Have a great day!!!

DH was kinda poopy again this morning about me having to get up and go. I just wish he would be more supportive.

Well went to the gym again this morning, no wieght loss overnight, mothers day went well, had a breakfast that I helped put on that went very well, and of course all the eggs and bacon I could want.... lunch was lobsters as planned and they were yummy!!!, dinner was a small low sodium taco salad. I realy missed going to the gym yesterday. it makes a difference in my day. my birthday is not far away and I was so hoping to hit 200 for that since it will be my 40th, but I am now realizing that probably won't happen since I would have to loose 7lbs in 9 days. need to be sure to get that water in today, I didn't get as much yesterday and I think that might be why no loss.

Trina - You are doing FABULOUS!!! Don't discount your goals WHILE setting them . If you have the goal of getting to 200 by your b-day, shoot for it!!! What's the worst that can happen... you are 201 or 202? Hey, I always set my mini-goals with the intent of getting to them, but with the realization of being happy with the determination and outcome of what I get to that day! If the mini-goal keeps you focused and going towards that new low weight... then it's worth it!!!

KUTGW you are doing great!

Thank you so much for your support, if it weren't for this type of support I don't know how I would do, sometimes I feel like I just can't do it, I want it to be fast, but I know that it took me a long time to put this on and it's gonna take time to get it off. It's just hard, I'm going to the gym everyday and I just don't see inches changing to fast, although people are noticing a change I don't, but once again thanks for the support
