This is my first time on this site and the journals i have read have inspired me. My name is Carrie and i am a Fatty. There is no reason that a 24 year old with no medical problems should look like me. I am DONE I am at my wits end and today is my first day of my diet. We (my mom and my aunt and cousin) have a rase to our skinny selves compatition going on that starts today. Every week we put $5 a piece in a jar and in 9 months whoever looses the most weight gets the pot and if we all reach our goals we are going on a trip. I am the fatest in the group weighing in at 248lbs, but I think that makes me even more determend to kick ass. I will write in my journal as often as I can and when I feel like slipping up I will come and write. I am going to loose this weight.... I know I can

WOW I MADE IT THREW DAY ONE AND IT WAS A PIECE OF CAKE. umm cake sounds good.. JUST KIDDING. I HAVE DECIDED NO MORE EATING AFTER 6pm and that was a little hard last night because I was hungry by 8 that is going to be a hard habbit to break, so I sort of slipped up on that rule last night I got up from my reading and had about six olives. I know that isn't that bad but I was really disapointed in myself after I ate them, just because I didn't have the will power to not get up and eat. It won't happen again! Ok on to breakfast and my exercise I will be back in the morning. Thank you all for your coments they really help

I had to challenge myself as well to give up late night snacking..one thing that helped me was eating dinner a little bit later (for me around 6:00). One day at a time and make the best choices you can!!!!!! Stick with your plan and you will walk away with not only the money, but feeling and looking better as well. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

Late night eating is a very hard habit to break for me as well. Like Diane said, eat you dinner just a little later than you do. It really does help. Also maybe set your time back for a little while until you get use to it. I started my cut off time at 9:00pm. Soon I'm going to up it to 8:00pm and so on. But you are right...It's a very hard habit to break. You're doing great!

I HAVEN'T BEEN HERE IN A FEW DAYS. I AM DOING GREAT WITH MY DIETING AND I AM SIX POUNDS LIGHTER. I WISH I COULD GET MORE MOTIVATED AND EXERCISE MORE I ORDERED A CALLENETICS VIDIO FROM AMIZON SO MAYBE THAT WILL KICK ME INTO HIGH GEAR, BUT HEY WHAT I AM DOING IS WORKING BUT I HAVE TO KEEP THIS GOING STRONG I DON'T WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE LIKE THIS ANYMORE. IT ISN'T ABOUT THE MONEY ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH THAT IS WHAT GOT ME GOING. I LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND I REALLY DON'T KNOW HOW I GOT THIS WAY. THIS MAY SOUND STRANGE BUT TWO WEEKS AGO I ACTUALLY THOUGHT I LOOKED PRETTY GOOD AND THEN THIS COMPATITION CAME ALONG AND I THOUGHT "THIS IS GOING TO BE A PIECE OF CAKE" I THOUGHT EVERYONE ELSE I WAS COMPETING AGAINST WERE REALLY BIG AND I WAS THANKFULL THAT I WASN'T AS BIG AS THEM. WELL THEN THE BIG WEIGH IN CAME AND I WAS DEVISTATED TO LEARN THAT I WEIGHED MORE THAN EVERYONE ELSE.. I WAS SO DAMAGED.. HOW DID I LET THIS HAPPEN AND BE SO BLIND TO IT. I SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHEN I LOOK IN THE MIRROR NOW AND I DON'T LIKE IT. I HAVE BEEN LYING TO MYSELF FOR SO LONG, AND THE COLD HARD TRUTH SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE ALL AT ONCE.. I AM GOING TO PROVE EVERYONE WRONG AND I AM GOING TO LOOSE 100LBS AND GAIN BACK THE CONFIDENT PERSON I USED TO BE.

thank you valentine I am hanging in there.. I just get so bummed out sometimes but most of the time I am really excited about shedding the pounds. this site is a real help though when I get that way.. I look at all the amazing before and after pic's and these people are such and inspiration

I am going to up my exercise starting today, I have to stop trying to work around it. This may not sound like much but I got on the tread mill this morning for 10 min at a fast pace and a incline of 6.. That is all I could do. It isn't much but I figure after a week I will be able to do more. I feel alot better now that I have moved even for such a short period of time. I have ordered the Callenetics video and im just waiting for it to arrive.. I didn't weigh any less this morning when i weighed so im guessing that all the water weight is gone and it is time to get down to buisness. I just hope that I don't gain weight from the exercising but only time will tell.

week one is gone and I am feeling good!!!!!!!!! seven pounds lighter!!! I know I can't phisically tell yet but wow I feel great!! I haven't had any slip ups and I won't allow myself to. I will check back in every now and then ..

thank you tx and valentine I lost another pound this morning woo hoo this is so much fun seeing them fall off never to return. I am a little worried because I started my period (to much information I know) and I wasn't sure if that would slow down my progress or not. I know that the cravings took over last night and I got up at 9:30 and ate a porkchop.. uugghhh.. but I still lost a pound regardless but I was upset that I broke my rule.. Im going to keep treading on. I know I have said it before but I can't believe how good I feel!!!!!!!!!!! ATKINS I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

I woke up this morning to weigh and wow I am out of the forties and ready to face the thirties.. I was 239!!!!! It just feels so good to be away from those forties it may sound silly but I am so excited!!! I can't wait to be away from the 200 mark but if I keep losing at this pace it won't be long!!! Thank you all for all of your kind words whenever I feel like slipping up I come on here and read posts. It is great to see the friendships that have grown on this site.. Everyone here are wonderfull people and we all have the same goals.. You are all so motivating

Fluffy -- Just have patience, as hard as it is, but if you stick to your plan you will be just as successful.. I am on my 3rd year doing this... the first 7 months were pretty easy, but around the 8th month I really had to start working at it.
Just keep your focus, stick with what works for YOU...also take pictures. They are a great tool to see your accomplishments...we don't always see them when we look in the mirror so pictures are a great tool. |

TX how many pounds did you have to shed before you could see a difference? I heard someone say that after 20 is when you can usually tell.. By the way I am in Texas too.. East Texas

Honestly, I am not sure when I really started to notice a difference.
It just seemed that one day I realized that my legs didn't rub together when I walked, I was able to cross my legs, and some of my clothes were too big....all these little things that don't seem like a lot to most people, but when you could never do it before it IS a big deal. When I think about it now, I guess back then I didn't really focus so much on the changes in my body, as I did in seeing the scale move, which then was important to me..and while I still am a scale addict, I am trying to learn that the scale doesn't always tells us the truth..meaning just because it says I didn't lose, doesn't mean through exercise my body isn't changing and I could be losing inches. So if you aren't already doing so you might want to measure....I wish I did when I started, but didn't think a tape measure would fit around me and probably just too scared to know. So how is your day going today?

i HAVE DONE GREAT TODAY.. I HAVE BEEN DOING REALLY GOOD AT STICKING TO THE MEAL PLAN.. I JUST DON'T HAVE THE ENERGY TO DO ANY EXERCISING RIGHT NOW FOR SOME REASON. I MEAN I STAY BUSY RAISING THREE KIDS BUT CAN'T SEEM TO GET ON THE TREAD MILL.. I AM GOING TO MEASURE IN THE MORNING AND POST THE RESULTS ALONG WITH MY WEIGHT GUIDE. WHAT SORT OF EXERCISES ARE YOU DOING?

While I do believe exercise is important, in my opinion, for now I would say don't worry about it so much...focus on getting your eating in control and then tackle exercise. Sometimes it is just too overwhelming to do everything just right. Running after 3 kids I am sure keeps you busy anyway. Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous at this point...taking the kids for a walk, parking further away at the store, taking the stairs when you can...things like that will keep you moving.
For most of my journey my exercise was taking my dog for a walk and that was it...and I probably only did it because my dog needs it too. Sometimes we walk fast to get the heart rate up, sometimes we just stroll and visit with neighbors, check out the yards etc... Just now I am getting into more exercise. I recently purchased a Tony Little Gazelle and a ProForm elliptical for the house so now I am doing that. I do not like exercise, but I do feel better after the elliptical machine... Keep up your good work........weekends seem to be hardest for lots of people so wishing you an on plan day |
