Kara Is A Looser!
Kara-chan is a Looser! A Looser Of Extra Pounds! Name Stolen From My Friend Rikki-Lea Who Is Awsome! Stats Age: 24 Current Weight: 253 Pounds Week Number: Week One, Day 2 Goals Mini Goal One: 220 Pounds Mini Goal Two: 200 Pounds Mini Goal Three: 180 Pounds Final Weight Loss Goal: 160 to 120 Pounds About Me To start this journal, I'm going to talk a little about me. I'm a single Mother of three although I gave up my oldest to my Mom because I was very young. But now we all live together in a big house with all of our random pets. It's very nice. We are also remodelling. I decided to really work on losing weight because I get depressed just looking in the mirror. I never did mind being a big girl, but at some point, I don't want to be huge. I'm only 5' even, so 253 pounds is a lot of weight to be carrying around on my small frame. My body constantly hurts, although I am very healthy over all. My Doctor perscribed Phentermine to help me lose weight. I don't like the way it makes me feel, but I am willing to try anything. I'm doing the Atkin's Nutritional Aproach because it is like the South Beach Diet which makes total sense to me. Actual Journal Entry - Yay! I'm having a hard time today because they took my Mom to the hospital. On top of that, I have a splitting head ache from the lack of sugar and all I want right now is a big glass of milk and some oreo cookies. I keep trying to tell myself that eating the cookies just isn't worth it. I can't keep finding excuses to "start tomorrow". That's just another reason to cheat and not get anywhere with my weight loss. I desperately want to shed these pounds and I have to stick with it. Although, those cookies sure are tempting. The induction phase is much harder than I expected. The cravings are pretty heavy, and the Phentermine makes me feel jittery. I don't really like that feeling. I like the fact I'm not hungry when I take it (I havn't taken it today). I've decided that whenever I get really bad cravings I will knit. I love to knit, and to have a simple and easy project to knit will be a great way to keep me from stuffing my face. Current Pictures Last edited by Kara-Chan : 05-07-2006 at 01:43 PM. |

Good for you for deciding that you want to get heathy!
Keep doing Atkins Induction and you won't need those pills to curb your appetite! You have a great plan for when you feel like you want to eat. The best thing I ever did for myself when I have cravings is I go to my journal and I throw it all out there for the world to see. You would not believe how much this has helped me to learn about myself. Good luck! See ya around! |

Week One : Day 3
Kara-chan is a Looser!
A Looser Of Extra Pounds! I Cheated SOOO BAD![/center] Stats Age: 24 Current Weight: 253 Pounds Week Number: Week One, Day 3 Final Weight Loss Goal: 160 to 120 Pounds Actual Journal Entry Thank you Valentine21463! I apreciate your kind words. After my Mom being in the hospital for a few hours I gave in and had some carbs. Okay. A lot of carbs. At first, I just had something to curve the craveing and get rid of that headache. I had 2 Oreo Cookies and 1/3 cup of whole milk. I gobbled it all up. My headache went away and I sat down to relax. When I still hadn't heard from my Mom, I wondered into the kitchen and ate 3 pieces of Garlic bread. Granted they were small, but that's no excuse. I took my phentermine after I ate them and didn't want to eat for the rest of the day. I ended up having a piece of cheese and a hand full of nuts for dinner because I wasn't hungry. I'm so mad at myself! So this morning, I woke up, made my coffee, and took my Levoxyl (a thyroid medication). After an hour I made my mom and I eggs and bacon. I had one egg and she had two (she didn't want bacon and I really didn't want plain eggs). We put some cheese on the top and I had 3 pieces of bacon which I cut in half to trick myself into thinking there was more. It works. I have that headache again and really bad gas which is pushing on my tubes which have metal clamps on them, so my left side hurts. I wish it would stop. I'll take my Phen at 10 am (in half an hour) and work out a little after word. I do need to go shopping today and will have to make up a mini list to last until tomarrow. I don't like grocery shopping anymore because I really really want some Schwans Ice Cream (which is PACKED into my freezer) and calamari (which is also packed into my freezer) but seeing as it is breaded I can't have any. We will be getting our new oven soon! I'm excited because it will really help with meal ideas. Chris (my ex) is going to teach me some cooking techniques and some basics because I'm not a very good cook. LOL. I can fry chicken! I make the best fried chicken and gravy. Oh how I wish I could have some. |

Stay Strong!! Don't worry about the the bites you alreay took. Concentrate on your next meal, which means, plan, plan and plan some more. The hunger/sugar headaches should only last for a few days your body is not use to eating this way. It will get easier.

Kara-chan is a Looser! A Looser Of Extra Pounds! Name Stolen From My Friend Rikki-Lea Who Is Awsome! Stats Age: 24 Current Weight: 250 Pounds Week Number: Week One, Day 5 Final Weight Loss Goal: 160 to 120 Pounds Actual Journal Entry - Yay! The knitting has really helped keep me from eating just to eat. The Phentermine helps a lot too. I got some of those Atkins Advantage Bars and Breakfast Bars. They are pretty good! I got a Chocolate Decadence Bar, a Peanut Butter Bar, and a Box of the Chocolate Chip Breakfast Bars. The Chocolate Decadence Bar was REALLY good. Not to sweet, but heavy enough to be satisfying. I really impressed. So I plan on getting some more. The peanut butter bar was okay. A little bland. I left half down and when I came back, my son had it in his hand and happily devouring it. I let him. It's better for him than cheetos. I went out with my Mom yesterday and she bought me a pair of shoes. They are really cute. They are a good size to big though because with sandles they never quite fit my feet right, but they are comftorble. I can't wait until I loose enough weight to buy normal shoes in my size. I don't think flip flops will ever fit right with out me buying them one to two sizes bigger. My Mom took me to lunch but she chose Chinese Buffet. But I was really good. I didn't get ANYTHING breaded (which was most of the FABULOUS looking buffet table) and I only got a little bit of the other foods and didn't eat even half of it. I was honestly full! I also couldn't see ruining my diet. I think my Mom is trying to sabatoge my diet though. When I woke up there was a dozen donuts on the counter right where I make my coffee. She bought them for the kids but my favorite donuts were in there! I didn't touch them when I made the face she went "NO!". Like "it's just habit that I buy them, but now you can't have any! Just look at them!" I don't think she meant anything by it, but it still makes me leary. My ex has been very suportive. He stays a lot and helps me with our kids. He's a chef in training, so he's been teaching me some cooking techniques! He's also cooking for me on occasion. This is much different from the guy I dumped 3 months ago! But that's another story. He's even eating well with me. He has weight to loose and while he's not exactly low carbing it, he is trying hard. I went grochery shopping yesterday, and while I got junk for the kids, I was REALLY good. I got a lot of veggies and meat. When I got home, there wasn't a whole lot of crap. I'm very proud of myself! Wow. That's a big update. My breakfast is almost ready and I can't wait to eat it. It smells soooooooooooooooo good. ![]() |

Same Day Update! Stats Age: 24 Current Weight: 245 Pounds (WOW!) Week Number: Week One, Day 5 Final Weight Loss Goal: 160 to 120 Pounds Actual Update Entry I've found that I really like the way I feel after I exercise. I did some stretches, traditional and some belly dancing streches. I did some crunches (quite a few which surprised me), and did some DDR. I'll probably do some more DDR later. I weighed myself before my snack and I'm already down to 245! That's AMAZING. I'm also up in my water consumption as I've already had about 30oz today and it's only the middle of the afternoon. I'm getting to where the water isn't such a hassle and the portion sizes arn't awful! This is really great. I'm so proud of myself! (I'm tootn' my own horn!) |
