Okay, so I did pretty well for my first day. I need to be drinking more water. I didn't work out today but I am going on a walk tomorrow and I'm hoping that will kick start my workout regimen.

Maybe I will have some (decaf) tea now and then I won't be tempted to snack on something bad.

Day 2

So today was fine as well. I am using Flylady's Body Clutter advice and weighing myself first thing every morning. Now I need to add the temperature taking to my morning routine to get a clue about my cycle! Anyway, I was down .5 lbs since yesterday. And I got my period. I went for a 3.5 mile walk with someone, and then we spent time moving the hot tub, which weighed a ton even with 9 of us. So I got a lot of workout!
And did well with my eating and water. Today I had a little headache I think because I didn't drink ENOUGH water, even though I drank pretty much! I know I'm going to sleep well tonight, and my goal is to get up in the morning and go for a walk/work out before work. Also I want to get my food in order for tomorrow so I don't feel tempted to cheat on my way to job #2 or on my way home tomorrow night.

Day 3

So although I didn't work out today, I did really well otherwise. I didn't drink quite enough water, or probably eat enough, but I did as well as I could, what with working so many hours. And when I went out for coffee with Jane, I was good and got a decaf americano, and put in splenda and half and half. Even though I was hungry and kind of wanted something to snack on, I was good. I came home and made a great salad with roast beef, greens, and avocado. YUM! I am going to have that for lunch tomorrow.
I'm pleased.

Day 4

I hardly ate anything today. I am hungry now and will go home and eat something like scrambled eggs, I think. I dislike eating so late, but I ate my first meal at SEVEN tonight! Nothing at all before that! I was pretty hungry, but I didn't pig out and I stayed low carb. I also didn't drink enough water. I need to do something so I like water more.
My goal for this week is going to be to drink more water and stay on track with eating, and then I will worry about incorporating exercise later. I don't want to try to do it all at once and then get discouraged. There will be plenty of time for everything!

Day 5

So I've lost 4 pounds in 4 days, which makes me quite pleased! Today I actually got to eat somewhat earlier. I had lunch at 1:30 and dinner at 8:30. I wasn't hungry for breakfast this morning but tomorrow I'm going to make myself eat something because my stomach was growling! I ate tuna salad for lunch and my wonderful roast beef and avocado salad over greens with bleu cheese dressing for dinner. I have some kefir or yogurt for breakfast and a very little cup of 1/2 and 1/2 with swiss miss sugar free hot chocolate was my evening snack last night and I'm having that again tonight because it was so good!
I am sure I have been losing weight because my calorie count is so low, but I'm actually overall not feeling overly hungry, except when I feel like I don't have an opportunity to eat. Then I panic and start craving french fries.

Back to the not eating enough--I didn't eat anything until after 7 tonight. I wasn't hungry this morning and then I didn't have time after that. But I still ate okay. And I've lost another 1.5 pounds. So as long as I'm not hungry I'm happy.

Day 7

Well, I quit my job today. I have been feeling anxious and haven't eaten the best tonight, and then tomorrow is the fondue party so I might gain back a little if I am not careful. But I might not. I am going to try not. And there will be lots to eat at the fondue party that is low carb. So that should be okay.
I will definitely be able to eat at better times now that I won't be working so much. And my stress will drop way down as well which should also help. I should be happier but now I am just feeling guilty and bad. It was a very bad situation for me there. But I probably lost some friends through it and that makes me kind of sad.
In any event, I am down below 180 for the time being, and I think that's great!

Also, really I would like to get down to 125 but I'm thinking that realistically that isn't very healthy for me. I'm definitely going to weigh less than my husband!!

Day 8

I lost another pound yesterday. Dave (my husband) says that he never has gotten such fast results from low carb, but that is because he's been a lot lower carb than me since he can't eat wheat. Also, I think he eats more than me and is less active. Not that I am totally active, but I do exercise some and I will be exercising a lot more now that I am not working ALL THE TIME!!!
I walked home from the car place today, and will be walking up Stone Mountain tomorrow so I have been getting in some workout.

Tonight is the fondue party and I am going to try and be good and eat veggies and meat and then dip only fruit in the chocolate and not any cake. We will see how good I can be. Right now I am down in the 170's and I want to be down even lower than that. My first mini-goal is to get back to my pre-Starbucks weight, which I wasn't happy with but I have so many cute clothes from that time, and then I will work on getting even lower. I am sorry that I was sad when I was that weight because I wish I weighed that now! But I will, in the not too distant future!

Day 9

Well, I gained a pound yesterday because of chocolate fondue, but I hopped right back on track by hiking up Stone Mountain this morning. Then I had a Denver omelette for lunch. I still need to be drinking more water. I am pleased with how I'm doing, and am not going to beat myself up over the fondue. I exercised a lot today, and am still eating well.
I am also inclined to think the diet soda I drank had something to do with the gain. I am going to cut out soda for awhile, I think. I should just be drinking water.
I'm going to be really good all next week and then be pretty good during my vacation but I won't be able to weigh in daily like I want to during the trip, I don't think. I plan on walking a lot, though.

Day 10

Alas, I am not down 10 lbs. Yet. But I will get there. The scale actually said I gained another pound, but I am imagining some of that was water retention, since I totally didn't drink enough water. I was really off plan last night as well and had sushi.

Today I started over with a vengeance! And I did really well today, and even made low carb cream cheese muffins. Which are the best thing ever, with whipped cream on top. I am quite pleased. They are slightly eggy but taste just like little cheesecakes!

I am not mad at myself about this weekend. I am still making progress and I didn't go insane and eat horribly and give everything up.

I didn't lose any weight yesterday, but I didn't gain any either so I'm not too mad or discouraged. I stayed on plan again today, and I plan to continue staying on plan although right now I'm kind of hungry and that makes me want to eat something I shouldn't, but I'm not going to.

Day 12

I lost a pound yesterday, so back on track with the weight loss. I ate on plan all day today, although it sure was hard to find dinner! All I wanted was a chicken caesar salad from Boston Market, and would you believe it--they were out of salad! So I said 1/4 chicken white, and they were out of that too! So I got a spinach chicken salad from Wendy's, but it had hard boiled eggs ALL OVER IT so I had a hard time picking that all off (I hate eggs, other than scrambled), and then was paranoid about eating the egg yolk that was all over everything so I didn't eat the whole thing. But I was fine.

Day 13

Well, I am back down to where I was before last weekend. I hate how it takes longer to lose than to gain, but oh well. I had been hoping I'd be down 10 lbs in two weeks, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Only 2.5 lbs away, but we are leaving tomorrow and although I'm going to be careful on my trip, I am not going to be 100% good. But we'll see where I am. Because tomorrow I may have lost some more and then I will lose some more that I probably won't be able to find out about, since I am not sure there is a scale where I'm going. So I'm just going to have to trust myself to be good. I am taking only cute clothes on the trip so I can't hide behind "fat" clothes. I will be wearing a swim suit most days, I imagine.

Okay, I need to pack and clean up the bedroom because now my closet is all over the bedroom instead of being in the closet where it belongs!

Day 22

I have been in Palm Beach since May 5, and am not weighing myself until tomorrow. Although I was on vacation, I stayed on plan after the first weekend. I knew I wouldn't stay on plan the first weekend while I was being treated to EXTREMELY expensive and fancy dinners by my aunt and uncle. But after that I did fine. I wasn't hungry a lot of the time, and even when I was off plan that first weekend I didn't go crazy. I'm hoping that I didn't gain too much weight during the trip. I'll be sad if I did but I'll be back on plan right away. I'm not going to give up if I gained weight. I also need to take my measurements, I think. I feel like I'd be more inspired to exercise if I could monitor my inches lost.

Day 23

I gained a pound on the trip, so that's not bad. I went grocery shopping and got lots of good stuff. I am quite pleased with my low carb haul. I feel ready to get back into things hardcore this week! I'm anxious to start my losing again! But all in alll I'm not sad about the 1 lb gain.

Today is Dave and my first anniversary! I can't believe it's been a year. I am going to make us a low carb anniversary dinner to celebrate. I'm thinking pork roast and roasted onions and rutabega. Yum! Maybe I'll try mashing the rutabega, but if not we'll have it roasted with the onions and it will be good.

Day 24

I didn't eat for most of the day and now I am HUNGRY! But dinner will be ready soon and I am very looking forward to its low-carb self. Tomorrow I'm going to make sure to eat, but I didn't get enough sleep last night and was too queasy to eat this morning. Lack of sleep tummy issues, not morning sickness.

I'm glad to be home and back on track. I know that it's going to be hard when I'm in Europe to stay on plan but I am going to do my best to stay low-ish carb. It won't be so hard in London but it's going to be impossible in Paris. I am not going to overdo it, but I am not going to feel deprived either. So my goal is to get as far along as I can before my trip, and then to exercise a lot on my trip so I don't backtrack. I know I can do that. I am not really overly worried about it, but since I'm hungry I'm obsessing about food right now.

I want to be down to 175 by Friday. That doesn't seem unduly difficult.

Day 25

I didn't lose any weight yesterday, but I am thinking right now is my TOM, unfortunately. I kind of wanted to be pregnant although at the same time I'd like to weigh less and be in better shape.

I am working on it, though--I went on a 4 mile walk today with my new walking friend. We're going to walk Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then Sunday. I'll have to find another thing to do on Saturday, but that's fine.

I did a really good job of staying on plan today. Although I need to drink more water. And I think I should eat breakfast. I overslept so had to run out of the door this morning.

Hopefully I'll be down a pound tomorrow. I am really wanting to be 175 by Friday now that I've set my mind to it. But if I don't achieve the goal I won't give up!

Note to self for later--how about a 3-day yogurt fast next week? It would be a good way to stay on track with the grocery bill, and you could finish up the perishables you got for this week!

I am so annoyed...I didn't lose any weight yesterday...in fact, I gained .5! I really want to lose these 4 lbs by Friday! Then I would have lost 11 lbs. in my first four weeks, which would be great. I'd feel like I was really off to a good start. I just feel like I've stalled and it's discouraging.

Ooooh - when are you going to Europe?? I LOVE London and Paris. I'm going to Italy/Switzerland in Sept. Not going to deprive myself, either

I'm leaving June 10th and coming back the 25th. I can't wait! It's probably (hopefully) the last time I'll be going without kids, so there's lots I want to do. Where in Italy are you going? Some day I'm going to make it there, but as of yet I've only been to England, Ireland, and France. (And Belgium, Luxembourg, and Iceland but those were just airports).

FINALLY! I lost a pound so am back to pre-trip weight! Now I just need to lose 3.5 lbs to reach my first mini-goal. I guess it wouldn't be too awful if I didn't make it there until my 1 month marker instead of tomorrow. Because thinking it will happen tomorrow or by Saturday morning seems a bit wishful thinking. But I'm still going to hope for it!

I'll be walking again tonight. And then tomorrow we're having lunch at a hibachi place so I guess I'll just stick to meat and veggies and it should be fine. I'm so excited about my work lunch!

We're starting off in Milan for a little shopping, then heading to Tuscany for a wine tour, making our way east to Venice to take in the sites, then taking the overnight train up to Switzerland to spend a few days in the mountains around Interlaken before flying home from Zurich. It'll be the first time we've ever moved around that much. We've always stayed primarily in one city before (London or Paris) & then done day trips (Brussels, English countryside, Bath, etc).

Have fun at your lunch! It sounds yummy.

Down another .5. So I didn't make it to 175, but at least I'm still on my way down the scale!

Not exactly on plan today--I had rice at lunch. But I still was all full until now, and I'll be up late so I don't feel bad about eating now. Also, I didn't feel like the rice threw me into a desire to eat every carb in sight, so I'm okay with it.

I got to leave work early and then I came home and took a nap because I was so tired. I had so much trouble sleeping last night--I was up until 3! Blah.

Tomorrow I'm going out for sushi so again won't be quite on plan but I know these things are going to happen and I'm going to incorporate them into my life so I can get used to having some carbs and not go overboard. As long as I stay away from sugar for the time being I feel like I'm doing well.

And I'm still going to do a yogurt fast next week.

Down another .5 lb! So now I'm at my lowest so far on low carb. And I went to the grocery store this morning and got yogurt, yogurt, and more yogurt so I can start making yocheese for my fast next week. And I got some DaVinci's SF Vanilla syrup. And shampoo.

I worked out today by cleaning our dirty hot tub. It still has little floaty things in it (not Hindu floaty things --Anyone seen "Grizzly Man"?), but it's not gross. I wonder how to get the floaty things out, though. Anyway, now I'm really tired and I still have lots to do today! But it's all fun stuff so that's fine.

Sushi tonight, but I am going to keep moving down the scale.
