Brandy's (TryingItOut's) 12 Week Challenge

I'm abandoning my other journal and starting this one as a 12-week challenge thread.

I started my 12-week challenge yesterday, April 9 and will go to July 2.

I finally decided that the only time I truly did well with losing weight and committed myself was when I did a 12 week challenge, took before pictures and measurements, had goals in sight and followed through with them. So here I am.

My starting stats are as follows: weight: 236 - fat % according to body comp: 39% body fat% according to formula: 49.7%
I will track both of these weekly.

Day One was great, it was a rest day for exercise.

Food was right on. I haven't perfected my ratios yet, but I will get there. Yesterday I ate 1958 calories, with a ratio of 38/37/25 I am shooting for 40/40/20.

Today is Day Two:

Workout today consists of Shoulders, Abs, Calves and Lower Back.
I haven't had cardio in approximately 4 days, so I will squeeze in some cardio today.

Food plan for today is as follows:

M1: Rice with Turkey
M2: Rice with Turkey
M3: Rice with Turkey
M4: Protein Pudding with Kashi granola bar
M5: Rice with Turkey
M6: Protein Pudding with Kashi granola bar

Supplements I'm taking are CLA/GLA and mutli-vitamin. My calorie goal each day is between 1800-1900 calories with a 40/40/20 split. I will have one day per week where my calories go up to 2200, but still the same healthy foods I'm eating now.

I will not cheat. I will not give up. I will meet my goals. I will not let "life" get in the way. Life is going to happen regardless of what I do, so I might as well do all I can to reach my goals.

TOM is here right now, but should be out the door in a couple days... so if I see a big drop in weight this week, that is why. It's also caused me to have a case of the "touchy-feelies" meaning, But I'm getting over it.

Well, that's it for me today. I will check in later this evening after my workout.

Okay, back from the Y today was DAY FOUR:

Like I said, my weight this morning was 232 (Gooodddbye ToM)

Tonight was triceps and upper back. My back was already a little sore from Monday's workout, which was lower back and rear delts, which I think some of my rear delt exercises really worked my lats. I can feel the soreness in my sides.

I also hopped on the treadmill and did a 35 minute walk. Did a little 5 minute 5 mph run in the middle just for kicks.

Calories are right on the money too.. even close to too low.... by the time I get home I have to remember that I'm on the low side and eat a few things right when I get home. Today when I got here I'd only had 900 calories... so I was only half way there... I do know that today I'm over on my carb ratio because I've been so busy I'm grabbing things that are quick and ready.

Tomorrow is cardio. And also my weight loss support group meeting at the Y. I hope their scale says I'm down from last Thursday

Mike and I are going to hop in the car on Saturday and drive to the Adirondacks! We love camping over there (it's only about an hour from our house) and the weather here is almost warm enough to start thinking about camping. So we're going to drive out there and scout out the different camping areas and find out which ones we like so we know where we're going to camp first. It's going to be awesome! (if it doesn't rain)

I have a dear, dear friend who is helping me with my checking in and motivation and support.... without her I probably would have given up by now as I have many times before.

Oh, thank you guys, but we're not camping this weekend We're just scouting out the camp sites to see where we WANT to go camping when it warms up some (Late May, June July)

Thank you guys though! Dusk, no, haven't heard from Luna and I can't log onto my old computer to get her phone number... I'm going to try Sunday and plug the computer up and just see if I can get into outlook to get her number from my address book

okay I finally have a chance to sit and check in! Sheesh!
Saturday was awesome! Mike and I climbed a mountain - Blue Lake Mountain, in the Adirondacks. About half way up though, we noticed there was still ice and snow! We kept hiking up slip-sliding all the way! It was fun but boy, our legs were sore the next day.

Today is day 10, I'm doing well. Last night I did an hour of cardio and I worked shoulders and lower back. Tonight is chest and tris.

I had a net loss of 1 pound my first week

I have a new goal to work towards too! Well, a new reward, same old goal... I had made my reward/goal list when I started over a week ago, and when I reach 199, Mike said he would buy me new golf clubs!!!! THIS IS GOOD NEWS! I like playing golf, though I'm not good at it, and he's awesome at it, but now at least it's something we can do together that's fun So I'm excited!

Well, it's lunch time, I better run will check in after my workout.
