Kellysue's "I need to start a journal" journal.

Ok first day back on plan. I am taking the advice of many wonderful LCFriends and starting a journal. I think it's good for the accountability to myself. If I write what I am eating, thinking and feeling then it's there and I can't do anything about it...I have to face it.

Day one again.

B: 6 pieces of bacon, 3 fried eggs

I made it through the day...

Lunch: Two chicken breast sauteed in bacon grease with about cup and a half of shredded cabbage.
Dinner: Chicken breast cooked the same way in a salad...

According to fitday I am at 19 carbs (no subtracting fiber) and 1557 calories.

I feel great now, but the next week will be rough...Induction flu sucks...but we will see.

I like having this journal and being able to express, even to just myself, how I feel.I have a great guy friend who is trying to keep me accountable to my diet. God bless his heart for checking on me today and making sure that I am back on plan.

One day behind me...so many ahead to look forward to...I just have 50 more to go...That's nothing in the grand scheme of things!

Day two of re-inducting!! I am not weighing until I go to the gym. My lowest was 201.8. I am sure I have gained, but won't claim it until I see it!

B: 5 pieces bacon, 3 eggs fried
L: 4 Salmon Muffins

I feel ok. I still have a cold and I am SURE that I will have some carb withdrawls so I may not feel well in a while. But, I feel VERY confident that I won't turn back again.

For dinner I think I will have more Salmon Muffins with either a salad or spaghetti squash. I am 13 carbs already today...well that's the whole recipe for the muffins. So, I think I can add a good bit of veggies for dinner. Maybe I will have a salad and spaghetti squash...hmmmm sounds good to me

Day two almost over! I made it. Just finished the rest of the tuna muffins with about a cup and a half of spaghetti squash casserole. Was very yummy. I could eat more, but I am going off that whole "satisfied not full" feeling.

I feel like I am doing good. I hope to go to the gym tomorrow to get back on my workout schedule. I am going to hope for 5 days a week of working out. I plan on doing some interval training and incorporating in some drop sets...I need more muscle and better fat burning capabilities.

I may weigh tomorrow...I am scared I am going to get discouraged though...so I am going to think about it longer...

Day 3...I am feeling better as far as my cold goes. I worked out this morning. I did 45 min of interval training on the treadmil..I feel good. I weighed in at 206. Up about 5 lbs. It is that TOM and I am sure by big cheat weekend had something to do with that too...but back on plan and ready to kick the crap out of 50 more lbs!!!

B: 5 Pieces of bacon
L: Chicken breast and cabbage cooked in bacon grease.
D: Probably a chicken salad with tomatoes, cheese and ranch dressing and leftover spaghetti squash.

Holy crap it was hard today....I don't know if it was good ole' Valentines or just cravings from the cheating I had done...Regardless, the cravings were horrible! I kinda succame with an Atkins Enduldge bar. It didn't make me over my carbs and my calories are still at 1800...Plus I exercised ALOT today...I was just soooo hungry today! I hope ketosis kicks in!

Dear Kellysue24

I just started ATKINS and i input all my food at fitday also, when see the fat intake, it just blows me away, do you really lose weight, without going above 20 grams of carbs a day with so much fat. It just scares me???

yeah the fat will help you with your appetite. Eventually you may have to watch your calories which means your carbs will go up slightly and your fat and calories will go down, but alot of factors play into that. I ate AMAZING amounts of calories when I first started, but I am having to watch it now. For now just watch your carbs and until that quits working then stick with it. If that happens then reevaluate. This is for sure not a low fat diet. The fat really helps with hunger. Once you are in ketosis, that will help too.

I made it, I made it, I made it...Doing a little happy dance over here...Day 4 and I feel GREAT!!! I went and worked out this morning. I feel ketosis now finally. My meals were great today.

B-5 pieces of bacon
L-Chicken cooked in bacon grease a VERY VERY little lettuce, with Ranch dressing
D-Oven baked Chicken thighs, probably zunchini or spaghetti squash haven't decided

I exercised for 35 minutes on the treadmill. I did interval training again. It was great. The time really does go by alot quicker. Everything I have read says that interval training really helps burn fat quicker than just walking or running alone.

OH!! I almost forgot, I am down two pounds from yesterday! I know I am just coming off TOM and all, but I will take that two pounds!!!

Ok so dinner ended up being about a cup or 2 of green beans along with the chicken thighs and a salad...I also ate another advantage bar...During the day I am not really hungry at all, but for some reason at night, I am hungry...But the bar seems to help and do the trick. My calories are right at 1700. My carbs were a little high, but I had a lot of fiber. Sometimes I wonder if I just need to worry about carbs or calories...still confused. If I follow calories, my carbs will have to be a little higher...if I follow carbs, my calories will be higher...well I am losing and that's what matters...

I wouldn't worry about calories until you stop losing. Just count your carbs and be satisfied for now.

I think your doing so great! And your attitude is in the right place! WTG!

WTG Debbie! Congrats on the 4lbs. I know it feels great. My breakfast is pretty much the same EVERY morning. Bacon and eggs. Flax pancakes/waffles are pretty good, maybe you should try them

I started at 248 so we are really close in stats...I am 5''5'..I think you could easily lose 60 by the end of the summer...Keep is at 20 carbs a day you should do fine. You may have to tweak your calories later, but just play with it...That's what I am doing.

ok I lost count of days....I could look at my previous posts, but who cares

B: 5 peices of bacon and 3 eggs
Snack: 4 or 5 sips of a nasty protein shake
L: Chicken breast
D: Chicken with some fried green beans..

Those green beans are INCREDIBLE!!!!

I exercised today for 35 on the treadmill and then lifted weights on my arms for about 15. I feel really good!

As soon as I can add 5 more grams I am added berries, I need fruit, the berries are really low in carbs and I need fruit, so that will be added to my breakfast for sure, I am just trying to cut out alot of the fat, I read what Kimmer said to you on the other thread, Lots of good advise, I am trying to suck it all in, so much info.
Stick to it and we will succedd.

Have a good night

Today ended in frustration....I guess what it comes down to is that I am not eating as well as I thought I was. It's kinda disappointing to think you are doing well and in reality you aren't...So yeah, I know I will not go back to how I was eating 9 months ago, but maybe switching to WW or Southbeach would be better suiting for me. I just can't watch as closely as I have to now. It makes me mad that some people can eat whatever they want on the atkins "acceptable" list and still lose. Granted I am losing with what I am eating now, but apparently it's still wrong...so yeah I don't know...Maybe I just needed to vent...that's what journals are for right?

Dont get discouraged I am the same boat like you,
I don;t like all this fat in ATKINS, I am reading all the boards about doing it LOw CARBS and 1500 calories, THInk it can be done,
I am trying to get breakfast ideas that aren't that fattening,
For lunch I do the salad thing with protein, either TUNA/ SHRIMPS/Chicken, with an Olive oil dressing,
Supper is MEat and veggie but low fat meat ,
I dont want to eat too much bacon and sausage, i find that makes the calories so high on fitday, i cringe when i see that.
I know some people get to eat steak eggs bacon cheese and loose all the weight,
I am still in the process in learning about low carbs.

Don't those people who can eat all that just make ya mad!

I am feeling a little better right now...I am seriously thinking about switching to South Beach. It has ALOT of what I have been missing, plus it's lower fat and calories...I am still thinking about it though

Ok back on the wagon...I fell off again...I have had trouble in the past with binging and see that it still is a underlying issue....now I have pinpointed it and will try to control it...

I am doing meat and egg fast for a few days to kick start some ketosis and fix my mess up.

so far today.

B: 4 pieces of bacon and 3 eggs
L: 2 Chicken breast sauteed in just about no grease at all....just a coating for non-sticking...and some seasonings...nothing else
Dinner: Leftover chicken and maybe some eggs. I will eat until I am full. but, only meat.

I worked out this morning and drank my water...should be an interesting couple of days.

I don't think that South Beach is going to work for me. When I am in Maintenance, I think it will. But, I just can't control anything with so many options. I need limited options....

Trying again...

Hey sweetie...just popping in cause I saw you had a journal and wanted to give you some encouragement! You can do this thing, you can, it's 95% mental - you've got to WANT IT like you've never wanted anything before and love yourself enough to allow yourself to lose.

Big hugs to you!! I'm behind you 1,000%
