EACH DAY IS A NEW OPPORTUNITY.....LOSING 4 GOOD IN 2006

A LITTLE ABOUT ME........

My name is Monica and I live in North Carolina. I am a single mom to a beautiful little girl. I did Atkins about 2 years ago and lost about 50 lbs before I got pregnant with my daughter. She is now 8 months old and I am ready to begin lowcarbing again.

EACH DAY IS A NEW OPPORTUNITY... I will take this journey one day at a time. I will acheive my goals this time...for me and my daughter.

I will use this journal to keep me accountable for what I put in my mouth. Please feel free to give advice, encouragement, or just drop in to say Hi!!

Induction is going well...so far

I'm currently on day 8 of induction. I have lost 8.5 lbs so far. Wooooo Hooooooo

I have a loooooooong way to go, but my mindset is to take this one day at a time.

My menu for today:

Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 sausage pattie, 2 oz cheese
Lunch: 2 pieces of baked chicken (thigh/leg)
Dinner: Shrimp scampi, green beans

Work will be very stressful for the next couple of weeks, so I pray that I can MAINTAIN and stay on course.

My daughter is with her father this week, so I hope to begin incorporating exercise into my schedule.

Please leave notes and offer some encouragement. I can use as much as I can get.

Feeling Strong....

Good Morning,

I am feeling super strong today. I feel no temptation and I am feeling really good about this WOE.

My family reunion is in July at Disney World, so my short term goal is to lose as much weight as I can by then. I would LOVE to be as close to 200 lbs as possible. I know it will be hard, but i'm committed to doing whatever I have to to get there.

My menu for today:

Breakfast: 1 piece of sausage
Lunch: 2 pieces of chicken (leg/thigh)
Dinner: shrimp scampi and turnip greens

How does my menu look? To me, it's not alot of food...but I don't get really hungry these days.

Yesterday I had trouble eating. I wasn't hungry all day. I ate lunch at around noon and didn't have anything else until around 11:30 last night. I know it's bad to wait that long to eat, but I was so busy doing other things that I kinda forgot.

Here's my menu for today:

Breakfast: sausage pattie, 1/2 cup decaf coffee with splenda
Lunch: Hot wings with ranch dressing, diet soda
Dinner: Baked chicken, turnip greens

Do you all think i'm getting enough veggies?

Your doing great so far, but I would try adding more veggy's, or a salad would be even better..... Veggy's are soooo important to weight loss, and keeping everything "going" smoothly..... Lots of fiber in those veggy's..... If you dont wanna add a salad, up your veggy's to 2 cups a day.... You ever see anybody get fat from eating salads?...... Just be careful of what you use for a dressing..... Keep up the great work, it will pay off...... ......Lei

Thank you guys soooooo much for the encouragement. It really means alot. This journey is hard...but I keep reminding myself that I will not take failure as an answer. I HAVE to do it this time.

On yesterday's menu, I ate everything except dinner....Meaning, I had no veggies at all yesterday. I know I need to work on this. After the wings I had for lunch, I didn't eat anything else yesterday. I know you have to eat to lose weight, but i'm just not hungry anymore.

So.....

Here's my menu for today...

Breakfast: 2 sausage patties
Lunch: Baked chicken (leg/thigh), small salad
Dinner: ? Not sure yet

I cheated and got on the scale this morning. My official weigh in day is Monday. I'm officially in the 260's. Wooo Hooo. 267.5 this morning. I know that is still alot to some people...but to me it's PROGRESS.

Thanks for listening..

....Until next time

Last night for dinner I went to Ruby Tuesday's and had the church street chicken (chicken breast, bacon, cheese) and a small ceasar salad. I wanted a burger and fries sooooooooooo bad, but I resistes.

Menu for today:

Breakfast: 2 sausage patties
Lunch: Hot Wings
Dinner: ?

I have to restock my kitchen today with more lowcarb goodies, so i'm excited about that.

The problems that I am having are:

1. Drinking enough water
2. Eating enough veggies
3. Exercise

Once I get those three things in check, it'll be smoooooth sailing.

Talk to you soon....

CONFESSIONS........

Okay.....I confess. After doing so well for about 12 days, I caved in! I ate off plan on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. I won't even go into detail about what I ate. Normally, I would just give up at this point and go back to my old way of eating.

I will NOT let food defeat me this time. I'm back on the wagon and determined to succeed.

I didn't see a change in the scale...which I guess is a good thing considering what I ate.

Pleaseeeeeeeee keep me in your prayers. This is a CONSTANT struggle, but i'm hanging in there.

My menu for today:

breakfast: 4 sausage links
lunch: baked chicken (leg/thigh), turnip greens
dinner: dunno yet

Just poppin' in to say

This is a lifestyle change and can only be managed one day at a time. Have patience and dedication to your new way of eating. As long as you stick with it, it will work! The "new" you is waiting to get out!
